New here in the Discord, level 105 in game with a question for an issue that's happened a few times now. Found the haunted room, but when hunt is initiated lately, the ghost spawns elsewhere outside of range of the room. Is this a newer bug or anyone else have this happen?

Depends on your difficulty. There will be descriptions on each difficulty (unless custom, you set your own) that show grace periods, and this is a window in which the ghost cannot kill you at the start of the hunt, and gives you time to make some space if you're willing to loop/hide

If you're in the room with the ghost and that door of the room closes whilst the ghost manifests, it's an event. If you're really unsure, try flicking the light switches. If you can't flick it, it's a hunt and vise versa

Mimic orbs are the same as any ghosts orbs it will just always have them as "extra evidence", mimic orbs do not move with the mimic as it wanders. Ghosts with orbs will always have the orbs in the favorite room until the ghost changes rooms. All other evidence can be found out side the ghosts favorite room as it wanders EXCEPT for orbs they are stuck in that room as I said until it changes rooms.

one thing that people often get wrong thanks to the journal, the journal says that wraiths float and thats why they cant step in salt, however there are no models of floating ghosts, so new players look at a ghost chasing them and say "it isnt floating, so it aint wraith"

I got scammed yesterday with failed run, did all objectives and had a wraith. I thought I got a photo (I checked the clip back, it was solid during the frame I took the photo but it didn't count), had no more smudges or crucifixes and the wraith teleported onto me the next hunt and killed me

I'm not 100% certain, but it depends on a lot of things. Ghosts kinda start in an idle state then have a chance to interact, event, use their ability etc. and demons have a setup time. They can hunt at any sanity after said setup time
