But dots doesnt require roaming. You can witness ghosts doing dots and standing still.
But they are forced to roam to player if they start dots while in same room as player.

How to tell the difference between a HUNT and an EVENT

HUNT

• Closes and locks front door at the start of a hunt.
• Will maintain same hunt sound throughout the round.
• Grace period before becoming visible. (duration depends on difficulty)
• Will always show full ghost form. (not shadow or stealth).
• Will not close interior doors at start of hunt.
• Can die during a hunt if ghost touches you.

EVENT

• Can close interior doors at the start of an event.
• Random ghost sound throughout the round.
• Immediately visible without grace period.
• Can show up in shadow or stealth form in addition to full form.
• Ghost will not flash during events.
• Cannot die during an event if ghost touches you.

I use the summoning circle to farm XP, place a book, crucifix beside the circle and then put 3 bottles of salt in the center of the circle, then light it, that’s 6 salt pictures, burnt crucifix picture and a ghost picture, maybe even a book for interaction picture if lucky. All 3 stars and instantly fills your photos making good XP alone

They still will be a lot less active in a room with a crucifix than other ghost would, just generally because a crucifix is their main weakness, if I were to say which ghost the crucifix has the better impact on, I’d have to be demon.

PHLH is the worst offender regarding map difficulty depending on the ghost room. Tube levels are either trivial if you have a ghost at the entrance, and awful if the ghost is at the far end.

The double light switches per room simply doesn't work with the fantasy breaker mechanic. 5 Light switches get you all the way to the end of ANY small house. the full 9 switches don't even get you half way up the tower. This results in massive sanity loss just from walking through the dark. The walking distance from entrance to the top is longer than any distance covered in a much better medium map, Maple Lodge.

Found this on reddit if you’re on PC: I had this problem the other night, asked in their discord.

Their response was too restart stream, go into steam settings under downloads, and change your download region to another region, then restart steam.

That seemed to work for me, not sure if it was just random chance or what but did the trick for the rest of the night. I haven't switched my region back yet.

Unfortunately, there's not really an easy way natively in game to set up a private lobby so you and your friends get in, then swap it to public to get randoms. Obviously there's the discord but that's outside of the game.
