it turns all lights off and allows you to flick switches as normal, footsteps go mad quiet, ghost model stops blinking as a mini nerf, but front door stays locked and the ghost hunts for an additional 10 seconds

all of this only happens if it never spots a player during its hunt e.g everyone hid before it could

Van sitters are honestly useful IF they actually add sound microphone, motion sensors, have good cam placements, actually pay attention to the map and the player's head gear location, and actually communicate. If they do all these requirements, it makes investigators lives so much easier

So with an onryo, after the 3rd firelight blow out it has a 100% chance to hunt right

But after that do candles act like crucifix’s or after they get blow out there is a smaller chance of the onryo hunting

This attempt can be blocked by any of the normal means including via candlelight as the onryo cant hunt near a lit candle

if it's within range the 4th candle will act as a crucifix and it will instead blow it out very shortly after blowing the third one

goes something like this:

-> onryo blows out third candle
-> onryo attempts to hunt, initiate hunt checklist:
-> is there a candle within 4m of ghost's current location? if yes, hunt is cancelled, instead blow out the candle
-> if no candle, is there a crucifix within range? (range varies based on tier) if no crucifix, then hunt successfully, if yes crucifix, eat one crucifix charge and cancel hunt

lately i've tried looking for the long gaps instead. i noticed the oni has only a single "long" blink in its entire cycle whereas normal ghosts have like 2 or 3

and phantom is an incredibly obvious blinking cycle like it's not even funny that little shit is basically invisible

-> ANY time it blows out a candle, the onryo will add +1 to its candle blowout counter. In the case of your question:

-> Onryo blows out candle #3, activates its ability, tries to hunt, candle blowout counter resets to 0
-> Another candle is in the vicinity of the Onryo; hunt cancelled, instead it blows that candle since it blocked the hunt. Candle blowout counter goes from 0 to 1

if you feel confident, the way to do it is to time the hunt and call the ghost towards you near the end of the hunt- 10 seconds with the ghost is enough for a smudge, a photo and objectives with good planning scarecrow, and if you’re lucky it will be something like an oni or a wraith which is super easy to identify

Oh SM has a ton of sounds (like settling sounds) the only sounds that is important is the ghost speed when hunting, if it’s speaking, or throwing stuff.

thats the thing i play a majority of games to just grind my butt off, especially with me having severe ADHD it helps my brain to be focused on one thing and keep at it hince why i love phasmo it keeps my brain occupied and it allows me to just shut my mind off and have fun in a way that i see as constantly trying to improve
