In the video above, the ghost is clearly a Banshee as some players were able to traverse it without dying.
All 4 players were in the house when the hunt began. Player 1 was the target and dies. Player 2 becomes the new target and Players 3 and 4 were able to walk through the ghost without dying.
In conclusion, the Banshee selects a new target as soon as the previous one dies, and not at the end of the hunt.

You can see it starts to go into the room my dead friend is in then just turns and instantly goes across the map to me. Always thought that the “area section” doors stopped the ghost moving between them during a hunt (i used that a lot of my advantage in apoc 15) but guess that's wrong. if you have problem with that you should check it this way:
if the ghost model is blinking really fast and its mostly invisible its a phantom ( also you can check phantoms with a photocam )
if the ghost blinks really rare and its very visible its an oni ( you can wait for the ghost airball event its the flying ball of air that makes a hiss sound, oni cannot do this event so if a ghost does this you can rule oni out instantly)
if the ghost blinks normally so its like half visable half invisible its a normal blinking ghost

Repelling the ghost makes it freeze up in the hunt it doesn't stop it from hunting nor does it prevent it, it just makes the ghost loose line of sight for 5 seconds and cant kill you

The ghost can wander randomly and it just so happened to wander the same direction you're going bad luck (plus flashlight being on after stun ended doesn't help)
