Replayability I'm all for, problam I have is that it ends up making the ghosts act not like the way they're supposed to act.
Previously mentioned a demon. They're supposed to be more aggressive, I'ad had shades that are more aggressive than demons.
As a result, we end up with the journal becoming almost useless because what it says does not apply to the ghost you're looking for
I've had poltergeists that don't throw anything. Yokai's that do nothing when you talk, demons that refuse to haunt, and so on.
It's fine, but when it happens constantly it becomes almost moot to check the journal

I hope the overhaul will mean more solidity for the ghosts

Sometimes the game’s AI for hunts and stuff probably isn’t as often as expected. Some behaviors are easier to spot than others. I’ve had some ghosts be more aggressive than demons. It can be confusing and frustrating sometimes. The game is early access and not always perfect. If you ever feel you experience a bug you can check #known-issues to see if it gets reported and if not you can then make a report in #bug-reports

I think it's important to take RNG into account, Demons (whilst rarely), may just decide not to hunt - it happens. It works this way to make it harder to just immediately guess the ghost. Shades can generally be more active when you're not in the room - the ghosts are working as intended

@still smelt use the unofficial cheat sheet for ghost info, not the journal. The journal is notorious for being off and more lore based. There's a lot of RNG to the ghost behaviour and sometimes you just get ghosts that acts weird compared to what they do.

I wouldn’t quite say break. I’d say the RNG presenting behavior for the ghosts isn’t always presenting the behavior right off or even when it’s obvious. Sometimes even looking in the wrong direction or whatnot has thrown me off. There are a few things that can help with some tests. A demon is less aggressive near crucis so it could explain why it was chill maybe. There’s really so much to take into account it can be tough to really say for sure.

it's likely a leftover bug from 0.9, not an intentional tell. When Ascension first came out, Obake would sometimes miss a footstep sound during hunts. Seems like they fixed the hunts but not walking events.

@desert chasm That channel has a 5m cooldown. It will reset the counter every 3 flames it blows out. If it tried to use its ability and blows out another flame instead, that counts a 1 in the next cycle

High level of "friendliness" would increase interactions (specifically throwing/door interactions) but reduce hunts.
