As I sworn I saw my emf reader say 5 but it was a yokai.
My strat was to find the evidence and keep the firelights on at all times near a crucifix. So my sanity almost never dropped so it could do ghost events. Then take sanity med when I am low or after the first hunt.

If you make hunting ghosts be closer in the direction you want them to go, they should just keep going that direction.

Crucifix range is bigger than the firelight range, so that can be explained. She might've been right at the edge of the crucifix and just BARELY missed the firelight. The candles might've been bugged though. It's possible that setting it down removed the timer, and so it pretended like it never even blew out the other one? I never get onryos so haven't done much of my own testing

Tbf, shades are rarely bugged and the game is just very random.. so you get crazy shades. Besides the whole hunting in the same room as you bug :/. Not sure if they ever fixed that. I've had onryos not do the hunt after 3 blow outs though. Hope I could help!!

Not sure if this is the right channel but I don’t see a specific one for reporting bugs/glitches and I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced this… Got a super weird glitch last night… was in a lobby with Brotaterchip during his stream playing with viewers and the games went well without any bugs or glitches, however as soon as I left the lobby my mouse and keyboard stopped working, RGB lights shut off and I could not use either of them…. Tried unplugging and plugging them back in. Only thing that fixed it was a forced hard reboot using the physical power button on the pc. Once the pc came back on everything worked fine again.

There's a bug where some ghost events will be really short, that's what this ghost did. If you look closely it was a translucent ghost event, not dots.

If you want to look at longer dots, then there should be no players in the investigation area (just watch it from van like you did, but yeah sometimes ghost selects a destination 0.1 m away from it, which is what gives such short dots)

The way I know it happens is checking light switches for emf whenever they get shut off, I see so many times where there’s no emf or airballs and nothing happens, then I’ll find the emf 4 wherever the ghost was standing lol, I think I’ve seen the 1 frame ghost more often in Insym’s streams than in my games😂

Ghost events (any) have a minimum duration of 2 seconds. The fact that you prevented the second ghost event by looking at the ghost is simply timing, because in reality, it spawned a short distance away from you, and the slightest movement from you was enough for it to be prevented and you weren't looking at it at that moment, and when you turned to it, those same 2 seconds passed and the ghost disappeared
In short, you collide it, for example, 0.5 seconds after the start of the event, i.e. this event is now considered “prevented”, but it will disappear only after 1.5 seconds

Your friend ran behind you. The ghost does not immediately unlock from its target then relock to the closest player and will run and kill any player in the way of it's current target. Much like a dog chasing a ball it dosent care what is in it's way it will focus on the prize.
