Entity Culling is for 1.18, but Performance mods can break even in minor changes to a Minecraft version: https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/entityculling
So I don't recommend forcing Minecraft to load a 1.18 performance mod for 1.18.1. Magnesium as an example, I believe, will cause issues when rendering 2D objects placed in the world when force-loaded into 1.18.1

No, not possible; and even if it were possible, you'd have to trigger the entire loading sequence all over again from the beginning. Meaning if it took 5 minutes to load to title, it'll take that long again.

BetterFPS has an FPS optimization algorithm, which OptiFine also has. I've always had issues between the two when the initial releases of either came out for a Minecraft version.
But I've stopped using OptiFine for a good year or so, because I just don't want to deal with their ads and download pages.

yeah no mod for creating worlds as template for 1.18.1. The world generation system uses the data system now and can entirely be done with datapack. the mods that add dimensions are only done as mods for convinience, and to sneak in a few extras along with the dimension(s) that can only be added via mod.
I just had to re-learn the data structure specifically for that since they changed quite a bit from 1.16.5

You don't need you want. ;) Minecol was not very developed in 1.12.2. it's amazing though and well worth switching to 1.16.5 or 1.18.1 for though imho. For 1.12.2 look up Millenaire. Not the same but is a village making mod

Create can get complicated but it also adds a lot of pretty simple to use blocks and tools for automating things, stuff like conveyer belts, and they have this Ponder feature that gives a little demo for how each thing works 🙂

ive found a semi-solution. If you download biomes o plenty, then terralith with still take over most of the terrain generation (although there are still a few biomes o plenty biomes sometimes). Biomes o plenty will then generate its nether biomes along with amplified nether. Seems to work pretty good from what i can see, and if there are any specific biomes that you really dont want in your world, then you can disable them from the biomes o plenty config file.

Yeah mek has both fission (which explode) and fusion reactors. They're both more complicated in ways to set up. Fyi the fission reactor to not explode really needs user figured out control systems

No, you have to remove all passive animals from loaded chunks (a radius around you of however many chunks your render/simulation distance is). This also includes span chunks, about a 5x5 of chunks centered around world spawn that are always loaded

Minecolonies miner and quarrier. You need to work to get that up and running, also uh fed, kept from getting sick, and protected. On the plus side they don't only mine existing blocks - stone and such they mine has a % to pick up as an ore

The .ogg using mod is MCDJ, I cannot guarantee that it is a forge or fabric mod, it doesn’t really give that distinction, there’s also a mod called dynamic music discs, which is the mod that uses a renamed disc to get the music and is a fabric mod
