If you’re making a modpack, my advice is to stay on older versions like 1.16.5 or 1.12.2 even, mostly because they’ve been around longer and have more stable mods, and mods that add more, but this is all mg opinion lol

How to find a faulty mod/plugin/addon by using 'Binary Search' or '50/50'

A binary search is a way of finding a faulty mod/plugin/addon when you have a lot of them, but without having to remove them one-by-one.

The procedure is simple:

  1. Take half of the existing mods/plugins/addons, and move them out, into another folder.
  2. Run the game.
  3. Does the issue still persist?
    • If YES: Repeat from step 1 with the current things.
    • If NO: Swap out the current things with the ones you moved out, and repeat from step 1.
  4. Repeat this process until the problematic mod(s)/plugin(s)/addon(s) have been found.

Does anyone know of a mod that can make it so that when for example me or someone with staff member permissions in spectator mode to spectate someone without having to hit there character if lets say I do try to spectate them with stream labs recording it while I’m asleep? Most of the time people join my server when it’s for example 2am for me and they’re 10 and a half hours ahead of me but tend to join and leave randomly so it stops spectating them and never goes back to spectating them and I want to incase they’re actually cheating. I’ve been trying to find a good anticheat that actually works and isn’t constantly spamming warning messages in the server console I have a spigot server but wasn’t sure if there were any client side mods that would be able to do what I described.

then 4 GB ram is good + if your game is laggy you need to make sure your game not the server ram allocating is enough also don't kill your ram for example you have 12 GB ram and you allocate 4 for the server and 6 for the game

I didn't realize that was a command already, but how would I be able to have it spectate/re-spectate them if I am asleep with my pc on in the middle of the night? Most of the people who want to join my public server tend to be 10 and a half hours ahead of me in time zones, don't ask why idk why though.

I'm going based off there own words a lot of the members that do want to join literally say themselves that they live in India when joining the server and I want to allow them to join with a working anticheat but cannot find a good spigot anticheat besides grim ac which keeps getting server console warning messages spammed with no one who works on the anticheat responding to not only me but multiple other people who also have the same thing happening.

Also for whatever reason most of them from India have been caught cheating red handed by a staff member. So that's why it's either buy an anticheat that may or may not work spectate members using my pc to record there actions or wait on an anticheat that actually works and is free.

I've only found one freelook mod so far, but I wonder if anyone else knows if there exists 1.18.2+ freelook mods with freetrack (or trackIR) support? Would be pretty dang cool if you could hook up your webcam, use AItrack to scan and translate your face+head movements into direct head movement ingame, at least for looking around independently of where your cursor is aiming.

I would use something like that but I'd rather not be forced to bulk up every one of my doors I'd like to do it to, plus it increases lag if I'm not mistaken. I'd like to not make the doors extra bulky for a simple sensor when I'm pretty sure a mod out there has something I'm looking for that's 10x smaller and doesn't lag that much. Especially since I'll be doing this to doors/buildings in already crowded buildings where I'm gonna be using as much space as I can for things

Searching for minecraft mod for 1.16.5 that adds a 'transmutation' thing. You can insert items which are given a value and any item you insereted before is recorded and can be taken out at the cost of those points.

Eg: if dirt goes in for 2 point per and oak logs cost 16 to take out, you can put 8 dirt into it and then take out one oak log.

How to **manually** install a server - **On your own PC**
  1. Check if the modpack has a server pack, if it does: use that and skip below.
  2. Go to the Forge website http://files.minecraftforge.net/ and download the Installer for the forge version the pack is using.
  3. Run the installer and choose Install server. Do not install to your desktop. Also do not install inside a OneDrive folder.
  4. Run the server using the forge.jar. A file called eula.txt will be generated. Open it and change eula=false to eula=true
  5. From the Client; Copy the mods folder, config folder, and any other folders needed for the pack to work into the server folder. If the modpack has a server pack, use this instead!
  6. Run the server again.
  7. Port forward your machine if needed. (Google it)

You could also use this community made tool for installing packs! Instructions are provided on the site.

Unfortunately that mod hasn't been updated to allow custom ore spawns in a long long time. There is a JER add-ons mod but they're pretty choosy about what they include and don't have it customizeable either through configs or datapacks - which would be sweet

So I set up and shop where the player can buy an item and when they right click the item it gives the user a role with a set of permissions

How to **manually** install a server - **On your own PC**
  1. Check if the modpack has a server pack, if it does: use that and skip below.
  2. Go to the Forge website http://files.minecraftforge.net/ and download the Installer for the forge version the pack is using.
  3. Run the installer and choose Install server. Do not install to your desktop. Also do not install inside a OneDrive folder.
  4. Run the server using the forge.jar. A file called eula.txt will be generated. Open it and change eula=false to eula=true
  5. From the Client; Copy the mods folder, config folder, and any other folders needed for the pack to work into the server folder. If the modpack has a server pack, use this instead!
  6. Run the server again.
  7. Port forward your machine if needed. (Google it)

You could also use this community made tool for installing packs! Instructions are provided on the site.

any mods that will let me limit items in the world per item itself? for example, if there are more than 5 stacks of cobblestone, and the 6th stack is being dropped, the first stack dropped will be deleted regardless of its clear time.
just like Adaptive Performance does, but I can't play with this mod cause its mob optimization breaks my modpack, even tho I disabled all of its modules.

just checked, yeah, it might work, but it'll be hard for the player to drop something on the ground when there's already the same type of item laying somewhere.
basically what I want to do with these sorts of item limitations is to get rid of all dropped saplings in modded biomes. they lag the hell out of my server, especially in dense forest biomes, and I want to remove them when there's too much of them or get rid of them completely.
