Changing Java version for installing Forge

1. Install the latest Java 17 using the .msi installer that downloads when you click that link.
2. Open CurseForge and click the in the bottom left corner.
3. Go to the Minecraft tab and scroll down to "Java version used for installing Forge modloader"
4. Click Select
5. In the file explorer window that opens, click on This PC, then Windows (C:)
6. Open the Program Files folder, then the Java folder, then the folder that starts with jdk-, then the bin folder.
7. Click on javaw.exe, then confirm it with Open, in the bottom right of file explorer.
8. Follow the instructions from !mc-installfix (if your internet is slow the instructions from !mc-updatemodloader work but need to be done on every broken profile)

Hey, I'm trying to download mods for Minecraft using CF. I was having issues with playing the mods in Minecraft, something about the bootstrap update not working. I decided to just delete the game and re-download it, only to be followed with another problem which was something about the access path being denied. I tried to also re-install my CF only to be followed with yet ANOTHER problem which I am currently struggling with. When trying to set up the modding folder for Minecraft, as I press the continue button, the error notification pops up saying "An access violation occurred when attempting to install Minecraft launcher. A few weeks ago I didnt have this issue with including Sodium, why is this happening and how do I fix this?

The following files belong to CurseForge-hosted projects, and should therefore not be added directly to zip files:

• Remove any mods listed in the error message from the profile you exported. Then reinstall them with the CurseForge app. DO NOT drag and drop files from the site.

• Export the profile again, open the new zip that was just made. Check for the overrides/mods folder. If you still see any mods in that folder do the step above again for each mod.

• Upload the zip once complete and no more mods show in the overrides/mods folder.

map mods are normally client side, graphic mods are normally client side, like wavey capes and falling leaves. mouse tweaks is also client side if it has that. try hosting it and if you can see a console itll yell at you if the server crashes due to a client side mod

you can't, optifine is a closed source mod, not meant to be played with other mods + they don't use the default forge implementations and thus suck...

(And they are not available in curseforge, meaning you can't and won't be able to add it to your modpack, regardless of what you want, unless you actually add the file by manually going onto your folder and dropping it there)

• When uploading a new file to any project. It will sometimes (90% of the time) crash your Google Chrome browser with the "Aww Crash" message and only another browser or Incognito Mode is a fix.
• The new web page to upload files will very often get created without the option to choose ModLoader and Game Version of Mod / ModPack / Texturepack Etc Etc
• Changing text size is not working on new web page
• Adding Bold or Italic on new web page is not working
• The "Uploaded" counter on new page is inacurate

It is selecting 75% of the mods as "not having versions available on curseforge" and thus adding them into the override folder rather than the manifest. Issue is, i made the entire modpack in the curseforge standalone client so ik they are all available. Any way to fix this so it detects them all in the manifest?
