Nice thing about the CF apps, is the apps data and the games data are separate. Meaning you can uninstall or reinstall CF without worry (in most cases)

Chances are you have a mod that wants it

but I need minechem to get as close as possible to the original pack I'm redoing

Unable to use OptiFine with 1.18.2.

CurseForge version is 40.2.9. Upon importing OptiFine H9 into the mods folder, any world crashes upon reaching 100%.

Hello, I am trying to use the API (https://support.curseforge.com/en/support/solutions/articles/9000197321-curseforge-upload-api#Project-File-Management-API) to upload a file to a Minecraft mod. One of the parameters for this is gameVersions, which accepts a list of supported game versions. I want to use 1.18.2, but it says I need to get the specific CF id for the game version via the Game Versions API.

So I went there, and used that endpoint to get all the game versions. But the output is a mess, and I have no idea what id to use. The two relevant things I found in the output are shown in the images below.

Doing some investigating, it seems that gameVersionTypeID = 1 refers to a category containing all most(?) modern Minecraft versions, while the gameVersionTypeID = 73250 refers to a category containing all the 1.18.x versions. So, I'd guess I'm assuming then than I'd choose id=9008 because it is paired with the 1.18.x category...?

How do I know which one to use? I've been working with this output for a couple of months, so I kind of know what I'm looking for. But I'd rather do this automatically than manually combing through the options for each version.

(I asked this 7 months ago, but never got a response: ended up still doing it manually, but I'd really like to automate this process now)

I'm trying to log into my Curseforge account, but in both the Overwolf and Standalone versions, the only option for logging in is via Twitch (not a problem, the account is linked) however it just keeps saying the browser version is not supported and it won't complete the login.

So when your pc connects to the internet it connects to various DNS or Domain Name Services however over a long period of time malware or other machine annomly this can get corrupted and need to be flushed (Erased) and reset (Put to default)

Do you have a pending windows update and are you on 11? I have seen windows basically strangle pcs based on most used app to encourage updates.

What kind of project is it?

Resource pack. I keep uploading the main file (now supporting 1.20.2), and then the backports to 1.19.4 and 1.19.2/1, respectively, so then whichever 1.19.x version went up last gets featured, and the site lists the pack as being for that version, rather than for the most recent MC version. It's really just a skill issue on my part, but I wanted to check if there was a way for me to fix it after the fact other than deleting and re-uploading the file I meant to feature lol

I filled out the form and uploaded my file, but when I hit submit, it tells me "This field is required" for Primary Category, which I had selected as Data Pack. However, when I open the drop down, Data Pack is now greyed out, only leaving me the options of the various resolutions of a resource pack or a font pack. When replicating, I notice this happens after I upload my file, a .zip. I was wondering if anyone has encountered the same issue. I was wondering if I should just change the Primary Category for now and change it back after it's uploaded, if that's possible.

Sound is slowly disappearing from my world. I'm on 1.18.2 forge 40.2.9. Every sound is going away, running, breaking, picking up, even being hit doesn't play a sound most of the time. If Minecraft will not start then use the tool linked at the bottom!

1. Start the modpack you wish to fix. If it will not start, then click the in the top right of the app then select Run Vanilla Minecraft. In the launcher that opens, go to the Installations tab and choose New Installation. Choose a name and select the Minecraft version of the modpack you are trying to run (like 1.19.4 or 1.7.10). Once created play it by clicking the green Play button that appears when hovering over it in the list of installations.
2. Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager

8. Click Browse
9. Click the address bar and paste in the folder location you copied by pressing Ctrl + V, then press Enter
10. Select the javaw or javaw.exe file from the files in front of you (tip: press J to immediately jump to the files that start with that letter)
11. Once selected, click Add in the bottom right of the window
12. Click the Options button on the newly added option
13. Set it to High performance on the best GPU you have

How to get started with shaders

Playing with a shaders mod like Oculus, Iris, or others and want more flair to your world? Don’t know what shader to pick from or where to look? try looking on Shaderlabs or the shaders tab on the CurseForge site.

To get started using shaders:

1. Download the shader mod and its requirements for the mod loader you’re using and run the game at least once to generate the shaderpacks folder
2. Download the shader you want from either the CurseForge site or Shaderlabs (linked above)
3. In the CurseForge app, right-click the modpack profile icon OR click the button in the modpack profile
4. Click Open Folder
5. Open the shaderpacks folder and place the shader file you downloaded in there
6. Select the shader file in the in-game shaders menu and wait for it to load (if it needs to)
7. Play!

WARNING: Shaders do not appear on the CurseForge app. Not every shader will work with Iris or Oculus. Be aware of your computer's ability to handle shaders

Hi, can't seem to login to curseforge to sync my addons on a new computer. Keeps saying browser not supported. It's only opening the small window with the login stuff in it and not a full browser. Tried reinstalling curseforge. Tried restarting computer. Tried releasing IP address. As those 2 are the only reasons you need to log into the CF app itself. No other games are supported by the CF apps login

Teh mc launcher deals with java on its own.

Did you do repair installation OR repair profile?
