There are two ways to share a modpack you've made with others...

Export and Share - For Friends to Small Groups.

1. Click the Icon for the modpack.
2. Click the button next to play.
3. Click Export.
4. Select the files that should be included.
5. Send the zip to the people that want it! They can follow the instructions in !mc-installpack to install the pack!

Upload to Curseforge - For Public Release to Everyone.

This options will make your pack public to EVERYONE, it comes with extra requirements and will take some effort to set up.

1. Go to here: https://www.curseforge.com/project/432/4471/create
2. Fill out the information with a proper description of the pack. This should allow anyone to understand what the pack is.
3. Click the Icon for the modpack in the CurseForge app.
4. Click the button next to play.
5. Click Export.
6. Select the files that should be included.
7. Open your Project you made on the CurseForge site and Upload the file you just made.
8. Wait for Moderation & Sync so it can show up in the client! (See !sync for limitations)

For a mod to show up in the app:

• Projects MUST have a file marked as RELEASE or BETA

• Projects CAN'T be EXPERIMENTAL
• Projects CAN'T be ABANDONED

Files can take a while to show up in the app. If your files still have not shown up either your project is new and you have yet to mark a file as Release/Beta or there is issues with the sync system making it slow.

Is there no way to update a modpack to the newest version if its a custom created one?

I know on a pre made modpack you can just go into the settings and change versions, but it seems ridiculous that theres no way to do this for a modpack you create yourself. Currently having to make a new pack on the newest version with all the same mods installed, then copy over all the settings files. Am I missing something?

Not a glitch saddly. both ow and cf have a "feature" where if you close it it just hides. You can change this in the settings for both apps, so when you hit the X the programs actually close

How to install mods in CurseForge App.

2. Name it, select the required Minecraft version, select the modloader & modloader version (usually the highest number), click Create.
3. Click the profile icon.
4. Click Add More Content
5. Search and install the desired mods.

So. My curseforge just decided to soil itself and ruin my day. Was working on a java update to try to fix a render thread crash from Oculus.

In the process I tried to set CF to use Java 17 instead of Auto, no luck, it always reset to auto when I check the panel.

BUT in restarting and relogging CF it apparently decided that my location for MC mods is illegal (OneDrive backed up documents folder) and refuses to accept it. Despite me having run it from there for a good year or so with multiple modpacks and working as of 3 hours ago.

So now I've lost all my modpacks, my curseforge is in another place (my user/me/curseforge) and it will not accept going back to what worked earlier.

Can I just move the modpacks I downloaded/created from the OneDrive location to new location or is this now a total cluster of a mess?

You should be able to copy all the files from inside the Instances folder to the new instances folder the app changed too. Onedrive is known to cause issues. If the app auto changed the path it likely did this for good reason.

When this happens, the loading bar at the bottom goes overboard, at first downloading/uploading 4 megabits and going over that to around 20. Ive tried almost every method the CarlBot gives and ive contacted multiple servers. Not just that but log files arent in their original place.

Export and Share - For Friends to Small Groups.

1. Click the Icon for the modpack.

3. Click Export.
4. Select the files that should be included.
5. Send the zip to the people that want it! They can follow the instructions in !mc-installpack to install the pack!

Upload to Curseforge - For Public Release to Everyone.

This options will make your pack public to EVERYONE, it comes with extra requirements and will take some effort to set up.

1. Go to here: https://www.curseforge.com/project/432/4471/create
2. Fill out the information with a proper description of the pack. This should allow anyone to understand what the pack is.
3. Click the Icon for the modpack in the CurseForge app.

Timeout/WebClient errors are from networking issues to your computer. You can try a few things to fix it:

1. Restart the computer.
2. Restart your router/modem.
3. Try another internet source like a hotspot, wired connection or moving closer to the WiFi.
4. Pause/Stop other things using the internet. (Streams, music, etc)
5. If this still doesn't work, try again in an hour and hope your connection is stable.

I need help with this, I tried to add Optifine and this pops up whenever i try to load the world it then sends me to the multiplayer screen.

Pixelmon is a rather large mod. Somepeople have issues downloading it if their network isnt strong enough. Can try some of the timeout bot as well

Installing Optifine with modpacks on Curseforge:

1. Right click the modpack icon, select Open Folder.
2. Put the Optifine.jar into the mods folder.
3. Now start the modpack.

You have to download shader packs and put them in the shaders folder that optifine or one of the other shader mods makes
