Hard to compare the 2 tbh. CurseForge has been around a lot longer and supports multiple games, Where Modrinth is newer and only supports minecraft

Modrinth used to have more issues with malicious mods than it does iirc. Nowadays it may be safer, I haven't used modrinth in a while tho so I'm not the best person to talk to when it comes to the differences between the two. but they are both safe places at least nowadays.

i will add smokestacks already once i got them but for now i might do triangles

i tried to do 2 triangles at the edges with a flat top but failed miserably

I just tend to do a simple roof by slowly building pillaring up each side until you get to the middle.
Than adding stairs (usually Deepslate Tiles) across the entire thing, with one extra on each side as an overhang.

Sometimes if I'm feeling a bit extra, I'll add some more support pillars.

Problem for me is...

• 1. If a modpack makes decent use of Copper, guess where that's going instead? (Not building)
• 2. Oxizidation. I usually prefer the non-rusty ones, so I have to end up waxing everything.
  • Even if I didn't, I'd also have to wait for the specific version of it... which takes waiting around keeping the chunk loaded.
• 3. The amount of processing it needs. By default, you need to mine it. Smelt it. Craft 9 ingots into a block and THAN further process it into stairs, grates, etc, etc.

It is not true. If you optimize things properly, it is possible to use more than 500 high-quality mods with hundreds if not thousands of hours of content. My record is 700 mods with 4 giga, on a old hardware. Mods do not take much RAM, what is taking RAM are textures primarily and JEI. If you know enough about optimization, do not add decoration mods that you will never use, do not use any JEI addon, and disable compats that you never asked for, then you can do more than you can imagine.

You should always have your own admin password. There should be a way to reset it, or I'd contact them and tell them they need to fix it free ~ and leave a negative review.

(sorry to interject ~ But yea), you could try some default admin passwords that usually get set like admin or password (dumb I know, but sokmetimes its what places default to until you change it)

yes, so essentially theres this mahoraga wheel mod thats honestly one of the best ive ever used, but the creator never coded it to work with curios api, and i wanted to try to code it myself but to no avail

i really need to get it to work with curios, so i was trying to find someone that could help

as it doesnt work even if i was able to make a data pack that lets it be equipped in a curio slot but it seems it wont detect the item in the slot and it wont work

Unless it's strictly for personal use, make sure the license allows it and the owner is ok with it. To make it work with Curios you could just make the item extend ICurioItem and set the necessary tags for it to be equippable, then any special behavior it has can be made work in Curios using the Curios API methods

I recommend to stop using GPT. I started to create mods without knowing Java, and took inspiration of other repositories to familiarize myself and see how other mods do what I want. Then you manually type the code, and after a while you will remember by memory and be more at ease to build custom mechanics without looking into other people's code. It's possible you will still need guidance, and in this case you can ask in #⚙️︱authors-help or in the NeoForge/Fabric server - GPT is the last thing you want to do, because the goal is to get experience which is not done by getting the answer right away and copy pasting code.

The more you understand, the more you learn. The less you understand (usually by using AI), the less you learn.

To create a Minecraft mod you need good knowledge of the Java programming language and an MDK (mod development kit) for whatever loader you want to create mods for.

Different versions of the game are coded differently by Mojang and use a different Java version, so the mods must be adapted to use that Java version. Old Minecraft versions are much more difficult to mod than modern ones.

ModLoaders offer an API to implement your mod. Back then, the combination of bad Minecraft code + a bit weird ModLoader APIs and old Java make it an absolute nightmare, even just for 1.16.5 in my opinion
