it has auto update enabled too so as long as the client doesn’t goof when it try’s to update your chilling

If I understand properly, you could abuse it by launching with JVM arguments which could then execute CMD commands?

the problem was it had local websocket sever any website could connect to and control

Once you control the websocket you control the launcher fully

The launcher allows you to launch the game with custom jvm args that leads to code execution

So all it would take is clicking a link to a malicious website that connects to that websocket

They have since added proper origin handling so the origin has to be cfapp and not allow random websites

Forge is the legacy version, but more commonly known. You'll see it mostly on 1.20 or below.

1. Click + Create Custom Profile
2. Name it, select the required Minecraft version, select the modloader & modloader version (usually the highest number), click Create.
3. Click the profile icon.
4. Click Add More Content
5. Search and install the desired mods.
6. Start the game!

How to install mods that are not on the CurseForge app

1. Right click the profile picture or Open the profile and click the Icon next to the play button.
2. Click Open Folder.
3. Drag the mod(s) into the mods folder. (Note: Some mods will require others, to run. Make sure to read the instructions for the mod!)

How to open profile folders

1. Right-click the modpack profile icon OR click the button in the modpack profile.
2. Click Open Folder.

Each "modpack" you make has it's own setup called an instance. You can find them in a dedicated folder too. This is what CurseForge uses so it doesn't have to redownload all the mods if you wanted to change modpacks.

As a result, all "world saves" are not going to be immediately shared. You CAN however put old saves in different instances. Just press that button in the image and look for a folder called "Saves". In there are all the Singleplayer worlds for that given modpack.

Keep in mind that doing that isn't exactly stable and world saves don't always translate well between Vanilla Minecraft versions... let alone different versions of modded.

That is to say "make backups, better a temporary folder you can rely on now rather than regretting it later."

The modpack cloning should allow you to choose what mod loader you want to use. I thought it would allow that and was surprised that's not even an option

Not all mods are for different loaders

still should be an option however to make it easier for those who might not want to support forge and use Neoforge. I will have to build the pack by hand since I plan to convert my modpack from forge to Neo in newer versions

Hi, how are you? I'd like to speak with support because the CurseMod launcher won't let me run the modpacks. It asks for access to my Microsoft email, but my CurseMod account is on Gmail.

You need to log in with your Minecraft account with the button in the top right of the app with the Steve face

That's the problem, my Minecraft account is linked to my Gmail. I created a Microsoft account to see if I could fix it that way, but the app says I don't have a Minecraft account.

You would need to contact Microsoft support to get that situated.
