i just got a message from this "person" too. they say they want me to check out 3 mods as they "would fit well inside your modpack"... they've suggested 2 mods that add furnace mechanics where my modpack has a custom mod which disables all furnace interactions... then goes on to also suggest i add experimental settings disabler (i have Here Be No Dragons) and goes on to list another 2 i "may be interested in". all suggested mods appear to be for forge and my modpack is fabric... they clearly haven't looked at my pack beyond perhaps the description on cf (being generous).
they want me to contact them but i'd rather report them (for spam maybe?), thought i'd let you know incase you want to pursue this further

:small_orange_diamond: Upload to Curseforge - For Public Release to Everyone

This option will make your pack public to EVERYONE, it comes with extra requirements and will take some effort to set up.

1. Go to create a new project
2. Fill out the information with a proper description of the pack. This should allow anyone to understand what the pack is.
3. Click the Icon for the modpack in the CurseForge app.
4. Click the button next to play.
5. Click Export.
6. Select the files that should be included.
7. Open your Project that you made on the CurseForge site and Upload the file you just made.

I'm super new to understanding data packs and from what I learned so far they are based in the world save file on either the players PC for single player or the world file location for a server. How can I edit the config loaded in a datapack and have it ship with my server when I upload my newest version? The hosts file is what your pc can use to check sites, by default the file is empty and it follows the dns (as it should) but some apps or viruses can edit that file. Changing where your pc connects on the internet.

I want to make sure nothing has changed that on your pc. We ask for this file all the time. We cant do anything with it/we cant access your pc with it.

Its more to mess with MC itself, since CF uses an older copy of the mc launcher, it could be screwing with that. VS the MS store which uses the updated version

There is a chance its something else. I just want to make sure your launcher isnt doing something it shouldnt.

Something Notch never really did and Microsoft never fixed. Would be too complicated for them to switch from Ipv4 to Ipv6. So disabling Ipv6 can sometimes help mc

If it makes you feel better, Both Virus and I work in the IT field. We arnt giving you random things to try. This is actually a very common issue for Minecraft. Some just get lucky and never run into it

A deal CF and Microsoft has. We use their launcher, and their authentication servers for minecraft. This way no 3rd party file stands between mc users and their account safety

Sometimes for what ever weird reason, the official new launcher works flawlessly. But the legacy launcher has issues. Disablibng Ipv6 can help with this. Or changing dns

How to **manually** install a server - **On your own PC**

1. Check if the modpack has a server pack, if it does: use that and skip below.
2. Go to the Forge website http://files.minecraftforge.net/ and download the Installer for the forge version the pack is using.
3. Run the installer and choose Install server. Do not install to your desktop. Also do not install inside a OneDrive folder.
4. Run the server using the forge.jar. A file called eula.txt will be generated. Open it and change eula=false to eula=true
5. From the Client; Copy the mods folder, config folder, and any other folders needed for the pack to work into the server folder. If the modpack has a server pack, use this instead!
6. Run the server again.
7. Port forward your machine if needed. (Google it)

You could also use this community made tool for installing packs! Instructions are provided on the site.

I have a windows 10 PC that has been slowing down and taking forever for things to load. I looked at task manager and it had a program on there 5 times even though I did not have the program open. The programs that where showing up but I had not open were not the issue as even after I ended the task and restarted the computer I still had this issue. Is there anything I can try or am I just stuck with a slow computer? I just want to play Minecraft in easy or normal mode without issue
