you cant harm a computer by using memory

if anything its worse to try to force all the memory into only one or 2 gigs

if u have 16 gigs of data and u run it threw 1 gig of ram then that one ram channel is being used 16times, if you let it use 8 or 16 gigs of ram than each chanel is only runing 1 or 2 times so less ware on the components

graphics cards from cripto miners are trashed because the same program is run countless times not stop and it literally forms tire ruts in the circuit board

so any other program is going to be messed up by the "ruts"

overly simplified example but basically if your pc has more ram let it use more ram

overwolf is the company who owns curseforge (they bought it from twitch)
the new curseforge app runs on the overwolf platform (they provide tools and stuff for making apps for games).

There is a standalone version that doesnt need overwolf, but it has limited support for games (wow and mc only).

At the moment if you uninstall it, curseforge would also uninstall (your modpacks would not be touched though)

How to **manually** install a server - **On your own PC**

1. Check if the modpack has a server pack, if it does: use that and skip below.
2. Go to the Forge website http://files.minecraftforge.net/ and download the Installer for the forge version the pack is using.
3. Run the installer and choose Install server. Do not install to your desktop. Also do not install inside a OneDrive folder.
4. Run the server using the forge.jar. A file called eula.txt will be generated. Open it and change eula=false to eula=true
5. From the Client; Copy the mods folder, config folder, and any other folders needed for the pack to work into the server folder. If the modpack has a server pack, use this instead!
6. Run the server again.
7. Port forward your machine if needed. (Google it)

First attempt at starting a space station with initial starter modules and docking ports. this is the little stack of monopropellant tanks i had kept in it's cargo hold with a probe body and RCS thrusters to make it detachable and able to de-orbit. I could be wrong, but this may be similar to a 'chunk ban' situation where a chunk's data is overloaded causing crashing for anyone in the vicinity

If there's nothing important in the area, your best bet may be to try and reset that small region of the world

If the server is able to start, and you know the location of the problem + have a mod/plugin enabled such as Worldedit, you could theoretically use the console to select the region and replace the issue block with air, and see if that works. Worldedit does come in mod form though I'm not sure what version you're running on so that may be a problem

Worst case, you can always use the vanilla /fill command to set the afflicted region to air, and patch it up when you're able to rejoin the world, though again that could be harmful to nearby projects, especially if you're not sure of the exact coordinates of the issue

Longest workaround I can think of would be to open an old version of the world, such as a backup (or just regenerate that world seed) on singleplayer creative, and work with the person that placed the statues to identify roughly where they are located in the actual world. From there, get the coordinates of the area, and use those coordinates in the server copy's world, likely through the console, to select the region with the statues and fix it remotely, either by filling it with air via vanilla commands, or using a mod to do so less harmfully

There is probably a more elegant solution, eg. doing something to remove all instances of that block/entity automatically, but it's 1am where I am and I'm not too experienced with modifying worlds in that way, so I'm just doin' what I can.

Lan and Modded MC has never worked all that well, as Minecraft's LAN was really only built to support Vanilla. Modded introduces a lot more files that may need to be synced per player, this can be taxing on a lan connection, due to the host needing to work double time (or more depending on player count)

Easiest fix: make a local server and join it !mc-installserver OR rent/find a server online to join.

Server vs lan, server is better for moded. As for hamachi, unless you 100% trust that whoever is joining your server there pc is 100% virus, malware and has very good passwords, as well as the connection pass is like 16+ long. Then I would maybe trust it (like 5% trust)

The risks hamachi brings to your pc and any other pc on your network, isnt worth it.

Its basically an open connection to your network through your pc. VS portforwardind which can be better controlled.

It's not really a logical move to pull a project because the creator decided to move forward onto a different platform, and indicating that they did so
That affects everyone that actively uses your platform
If anything, CF should have a better archival system, and this situation just brought that issue to light, along with the versioning one that is already well known

At the end of the day I understand I'm just some random dude in your discord complaining, but I think a start to regaining developers trust is to overhaul your archival terms, and to polish your versioning. Those seem to be the main two issues developers are upset about. The versioning one affects EVERYONE, and that should be priority #1, as ease of use for users should be a main goal of a platform like this.

Minecraft bedrock is, in all platforms it's in, based on MCPE (and updates and what not). It is ported to be executed on those different platforms and will run the best it can on them. Due to Mojang not caring so much about the android version, you can still use the good old method of acquiring the APK from elsewhere and getting the full bedrock game on Android for free. You will only have access for it on that device, and youd have to download it again everywhere you wanted the game, but you can auth it to Microsoft/xbl just fine and enjoy the full game. It is exactly the same as Desktop or Console Minecraft bedrock, with minor differences to it's code to be able to run on the different architectures, but it's basically the same version from your phone to your PS5 or XBOX series X. This is what allows cross play. You can get bedrock for free in android, but it's not THAT easy and trustable of a method, and is still ilegal, so if you decide on getting the game via unofficial sources, that's on you. You will still have the full game on that device, without updates, until you decide to uninstall or update it manually.
