as for if any server will run smoothly, that depends on soo many factors.
anything from player count, ram, cpu, entity count, individual mods installed, chunks loaded, blocks in the world, chunks being generated, disk speed, disk type, ram type ect

Export and Share - For Friends / Small Groups

1. Click the Icon for the modpack.
2. Click the button next to play.
3. Click Export.
4. Select the files that should be included.

Upload to Curseforge - For Public Release to Everyone

How to **manually** install a server - **On your own PC**

1. Check if the modpack has a server pack, if it does: use that and skip below.
2. Go to the Forge website http://files.minecraftforge.net/ and download the Installer for the forge version the pack is using.
3. Run the installer and choose Install server. Do not install to your desktop. Also do not install inside a OneDrive folder.
4. Run the server using the forge.jar. A file called eula.txt will be generated. Open it and change eula=false to eula=true
5. From the Client; Copy the mods folder, config folder, and any other folders needed for the pack to work into the server folder. If the modpack has a server pack, use this instead!
6. Run the server again.
7. Port forward your machine if needed. (Google it)

If you add mods to any modpacks (even the ones create) and play in a world that already existed, that world WILL have wrong NBT values and IDs for the items. I mean... These two are generated when you create the world for the first time.

So, this means that, a lot of recipes will get bugged

And ore generation too

And even chunk generation

Question, my friend is looking to run a server with a modpack he has made completely from mods from curseforge and he wanted to make a patreon donation (i believe thats what it is) and wanted to grant players special roles and perks to players who donate. There are alternative third party launchers like GDLauncher, Prism Launcher, ATLauncher that some people use and prefer

They integrate with the CurseForge api to download modpacks, tho some mod authors can decide to disable access to their projects from third party authors if they wish (as third party launchers dont have ads, which make money for CF to give to mod authors)

There is also one second party launcher, the FTB App, but thats mainly for playing FTB packs (it supports all other CurseForge modpacks though)

Trying to get wow curse forge on steam deck. Im a dummy and linked my curse forge to a COPY of my wow folder instead of the actual folder. So my question is there a way to to assign curse forge to the correct folder? Has anyone had success with curseforge on the steam deck?

So it appears the CF app update in which that makes Minecraft mods that need updates not always on top doesn't work 100%. I have some on the top of the list, and some alphabetically. And not sure if I'm alone with this thought, but I liked them always being on top of the pack, made it easy to know what mods needed updates.

Is there a quick way to delete all the mods I have downloaded? I play sims which means I have about a million things downloaded but with the big update coming I wanna clear everything out and start fresh to make sure everything works but selecting each individual mod/cc will probably take hours

Big update is not expected until March, but the easiest way to remove all your mods is to use Explorer/Finder to rename the mods folder to something like Mods-Old. Then run the game to force it to make a new, empty mods folder.

The advantage of doing this is that all your mods are backed up and available if you want to add them back into the actual mods folder that the game (and CF APP) read.

How to upload a server pack

Serverpacks are special files uploaded alongside an existing project file. If the main file is rejected the server pack is also rejected.

*In order to upload a server pack you must have a pre-uploaded export file

1. Make the server pack by zipping up the required files by selecting the required folders & files. It should include the config and mod folders at a minimum, plus anything else you specifically required to run the server. Start/Run/Setup scripts are optional. Don't include modloader files or the minecraft server jar.
2. Go to the Files tab on the project.
3. Click the name of the file you wish to upload the server pack to. The pack and server should match pack versions.
4. Click Upload Additional File.
5. Fill out the form.

How to upload a server pack

Serverpacks are special files uploaded alongside an existing project file. If the main file is rejected the server pack is also rejected.

1. Make the server pack by zipping up the required files by selecting the required folders & files. It should include the config and mod folders at a minimum, plus anything else you specifically required to run the server. Start/Run/Setup scripts are optional. 2. Go to the Files tab on the project.
3. Click the name of the file you wish to upload the server pack to. The pack and server should match pack versions.

Upload to Curseforge - For Public Release to Everyone

3. Click the Icon for the modpack in the CurseForge app.
4. Click the button next to play.
5. Click Export.
6. Select the files that should be included.
7. Open your Project that you made on the CurseForge site and Upload the file you just made.
8. Wait for Moderation & Sync so it can show up in the client! (See !sync for limitations and !status to learn about the moderation process and how long it will take to approve/decline)

How to **manually** install a server - **On your own PC**

3. Run the installer and choose Install server. Do not install to your desktop. Also do not install inside a OneDrive folder.
4. Run the server using the forge.jar. A file called eula.txt will be generated. Open it and change eula=false to eula=true
5. From the Client; Copy the mods folder, config folder, and any other folders needed for the pack to work into the server folder. If the modpack has a server pack, use this instead!
6. Run the server again.
7. Port forward your machine if needed. (Google it)

How to repair your Minecraft installation on CurseForge - **NOT** the same as `Repair Profile` - please follow these exact steps

1. Click on the Minecraft Tab on the left side of the CurseForge App.
2. Click button next to the Create Custom Profile option.
3. Click Repair Installation option.

NOTE: Although this might seem similar to the instructions of repairing profile, it's different and required. No worries, you will not lose any modpacks or worlds.

How do you force refresh CurseForge? I was playing with some addons and then went back to my backed up interface \ wtf folders and it still shows the 2 addons I no longer have in the interface folder and none of my others.

Two ways to share a modpack you made with others

Export and Share - For Friends / Small Groups

1. Click the Icon for the modpack.
2. Click the button next to play.
3. Click Export.
4. Select the files that should be included.
5. Send the zip to the people that want it! They can follow the instructions in !mc-installpack to install the pack.

Upload to Curseforge - For Public Release to Everyone

This option will make your pack public to EVERYONE, it comes with extra requirements and will take some effort to set up.

1. Go to create a new project
2. Fill out the information with a proper description of the pack. This should allow anyone to understand what the pack is.
3. Click the Icon for the modpack in the CurseForge app.
4. Click the button next to play.
5. Click Export.
6. Select the files that should be included.
7. Open your Project that you made on the CurseForge site and Upload the file you just made.
8. Wait for Moderation & Sync so it can show up in the client! (See !sync for limitations and !status to learn about the moderation process and how long it will take to approve/decline)

When I click export, it doesn't export everything! The modpack has about 230 mods but it was only 1

Is there any problem if I add it manually?

you must remove and not include optifine - it is not hosted on curseforge or on the approved 3rd party mods list to include.

your export file was created correctly - the mods are not placed inside the export ZIP but rather are indexed for their ID number in manifest.json

you can uncheck the box for individual mods to try to export in the export menu
