How to **manually** install a server - **On your own PC**

1. Check if the modpack has a server pack, if it does: use that and skip below.
2. Go to the Forge website http://files.minecraftforge.net/ and download the Installer for the forge version the pack is using.
3. Run the installer and choose Install server. Do not install to your desktop. Also do not install inside a OneDrive folder.
4. Run the server using the forge.jar. A file called eula.txt will be generated. Open it and change eula=false to eula=true
5. From the Client; Copy the mods folder, config folder, and any other folders needed for the pack to work into the server folder. If the modpack has a server pack, use this instead!
6. Run the server again.
7. Port forward your machine if needed. (Google it)

You could also use this community made tool for installing packs! Instructions are provided on the site.

What's the best way to edit a downloaded Modpack without changing your saved world?

So I downloaded a really good modpack, but it's got this horrible looking minimap / world map, and I want to swap it out for Xaero's maps, but I saw I couldn't edit the modpack I downloaded.

I want to edit the modpack to swap map mods, and the only way I think would work is to make a modpack myself, then go to where the downloaded modpack's mods are installed, copy all of them (minus the shitty mini/world map to the mods folder in the modpack that I made, add the better mini/world map, and then move all the data of the downloaded modpack into the modpack that I made, and I should still have all the data, custom settings / keybinds, and my world saves to use without putting them in danger of being deleted.

First would recommend making a backup of your world, just in case anything happens. Copy the folder and save it somewhere safe.

How to add/remove mods in a modpack.

1. Click on the picture of the modpack.
2. Click the Add More Content button, IF this button is not there, see below before continuing.
3. Find the Mods, Resource Packs or Maps you wish to Install and click Install on them.
4. Wait for all the required mods to be downloaded.
5. Start the modpack.

How to Enable/Disable content management for modpacks.

1. Click on the picture of the modpack.
2. Click on the button next to the Play button.
3. Click on Profile Options.
4. Check the Allow content management for this profile option if you want to edit the content of the modpack, uncheck it to disable.

NOTE: The Allow content management for this profile option is what allows you to Delete, Disable, Update or Install any Mods, Resource Packs or Maps managed by CurseForge. It must be on to modify any of them! (Currently)

Other then the initial payment of buying minecraft itself, you can host a local server and play with friends that way

Maybe someone told you you need a paid host or smting. Pebblehost, Aquatis, Bisect hosting are a few options. If you have a dedicated host the server stays up 24/7 and is easier to do if ur new to MC/hosting (Paid option)

You can also home host it through various ways which is free but generally a bit harder.

What pack do you intend to play? Cuz im starting a server soon for several clans, probably Medieval MC 1.19 u can join that too if u want

There are two ways to share a modpack you've made with others...

Export and Share - For Friends to Small Groups.

1. Click the Icon for the modpack.
2. Click the button next to play.
3. Click Export.
4. Select the files that should be included.
5. Send the zip to the people that want it! They can follow the instructions in !mc-installpack to install the pack!

Upload to Curseforge - For Public Release to Everyone.

This options will make your pack public to EVERYONE, it comes with extra requirements and will take some effort to set up.

1. Go to here: https://www.curseforge.com/project/432/4471/create
2. Fill out the information with a proper description of the pack. This should allow anyone to understand what the pack is.
3. Click the Icon for the modpack in the CurseForge app.
4. Click the button next to play.
5. Click Export.
6. Select the files that should be included.
7. Open your Project you made on the CurseForge site and Upload the file you just made.
8. Wait for Moderation & Sync so it can show up in the client! (See !sync for limitations)

How to **manually** install a server - **On your own PC**

1. Check if the modpack has a server pack, if it does: use that and skip below.

3. Run the installer and choose Install server. Do not install to your desktop. Also do not install inside a OneDrive folder.
4. Run the server using the forge.jar. A file called eula.txt will be generated. Open it and change eula=false to eula=true
5. From the Client; Copy the mods folder, config folder, and any other folders needed for the pack to work into the server folder. If the modpack has a server pack, use this instead!
6. Run the server again.
7. Port forward your machine if needed. (Google it)

My friends and I are playing the Insanecraft modpack, and most have moved underground because of the dangerous (mainly explosive) mobs.

That was uploaded when twitch still owned CF, and they didn't really bother much with moderation.

It may be that they still allow it, I am not part of the moderation team (and neither are any of the other Community Support, we are all volunteers). We just do our best based on past experience, and i have seen packs and mods be rejected because they are a clone/port of an existing one.

Ive even seen a mod be rejected for being a port when it was actually an addon

Serverpacks are special files uploaded alongside an existing project file. If the main file is rejected the server pack is also rejected.

You require an already uploaded export file to upload a server pack!

1. Make the server pack by zipping up the required files by selecting the required folders & files. It should include the config and mod folders at a minimum, plus anything else you specifically required to run the server. Start/Run/Setup scripts are optional. Don't include modloader files or the minecraft server jar.
2. Go to the Files tab on the project.

Yep. Easy way to tell is if you ping reply there is a little @ beside the name you replied too. No @ no ping (example ping myself) vs none ping

and of course discord dosent show it when you ping yourself.... broken feature XD

regarding your question: sadly, there is currently no way to share you list of addons via the app (e.g. export/import)
you could simply zip your interface folder and send it to your friend, this will however not share any settings
