I'm not sure I like the Bulky tag. Having a restricting tag that exists for no mechanical reason (as stated in the doc itself) and is just for fictional cohesion doesn't feel great

And also like, if you can mount a siege cannon on a caliban with a core bonus, I don't think a size 1/2 deploying a big net or a repair drone is that much of an issue. Cat's kinda out of the bag with that stuff already, imo

Aye. The flight spec tag is okay I think, while it doesn't really serve a mechanical purpose it does help stop people messing up their builds, without any real restrictions

AI tag to mech and AI tag in system are different. AI tag in sys is the "no repeat", AI tag to mech is "can hand control over to the AI"

You can and it's hilarious. Just always have it in direct fire mode. It's so dumb. But so hilarious. Especially when you have Come With Me Now by the Kongos playing during the entire scene. I have never seen a hangar get cleared out so aggressively and thoroughly.

pretty big update today based on feedback received elsewhere. the condor was more or less completely reworked, and all the other frames received some changes as well. these were mostly enacted due to the elimination of the type-2 flight system, which freed up some space for additional frame traits on the gosawk and tyto. all the mechs had their stats retooled as well to account for this. feel free to share your thoughts!

first update here! just a few small fixes. removed some old wording from the mag crane, added a removal clause to the flight full tech, and fixed an issue causing a few exotic weapons to display incorrectly.

hey @everyone! been nose to the grindstone for a hot bit here to finish the book. we’re finishing up a last round of proofreading, and once that’s finished the whole project will be done! with that in mind, there are a few things i’d like to make sure i clarify: 1) this product will be available on itch.io for $5 USD. 2) once the book is released, the .lcp will be deleted from this discord thread and will be available for free on itch as a downloadable demo. 3) this thread will remain open for discussion/feedback. if you’ve noticed any issues with the balancing of the content in the .lcp, please let us know here (especially before release, please)!

the other new mechanic is movement actions. movement actions are a new class of action available to a few of the frames via their core systems. they also appear in some of the exotic gear.

movement actions count as free actions, but must be taken on your turn before you spend any movement. only one can be taken per turn.

It has a clause that reads
For the rest of the turn, your Elevation cannot increase when you move or Boost.
Does that only apply to standard move and Boost? Could I gain altitude by using movement from, say, Skirmisher 2 or Hunter 2? The flight system from Spaceborne 1?

I have discovered that mounting the Wingedge Blades (from the Peregrine license) to a Nelson is very strong. With the right Talents and battlefield awareness you can bounce around and deal kinetic damage to everyone. It is extremely fun.

Hi, I just wanted to reach out; I'm playing with the Goshawk on CompCon, and the Syslink Reactive Autotargeter mod doesn't seem to be implemented correctly; I'm trying to apply it to the SSC's Vulture DMR (and others, but I wanted to pick something vanilla and old for this example) and despite having the system points to equip, I'm not able to see it in the weapon mods listing. Any help or advice would be appreciated

Thank you all for supporting this project. We've been absolutely blown away by the amount of interest it's received so far. In fact, just a few days ago, ASV hit 1,000 total downloads here on itch. To celebrate, we're putting it on sale! From now until March 8th, you can get ASV at a whopping 25% off. To go along with the sale, we've updated the .lcp file. version 1.0.1 includes:

  • Optimizations to reduce file size: this greatly improves COMP/CON performance for all of you .lcp collectors out there who have quite a few content packs installed. For those interested in the numbers, the first version of the .lcp had a file size of 126 kilobytes. Version 1.0.1 has a file size of just 32 kilobytes - a (roughly) 75% reduction!

  • A renamed mech system: The Sys-Link Reactive Autotargeting (gained from Goshawk 2) has been renamed to the BIRDER-Class Comp/Con and gained the AI tag. This system being a Comp/Con makes more sense within the fiction (to us, anyway) and shortens the name, which is more aesthetically pleasing.

  • Typo fixes: With the help of a few of you wonderful people we were able to catch a few typos within the .lcp and a few inconsistencies with it when compared to the .pdf.

it works with both flight spec systems and weapons.

there is only one flight spec weapon (the tingarri) , so unless you're running a superheavy build and you're willing to invest 3 lls into haliastur you're going to be proccing it with flight spec systems, which there are a lot of, especially if you include the exotic ones.

hi all, just want to bump this and comment (albeit very late) on the terk situation. i browse this server in a very limited fashion and just became aware of what terk did today.

terk's involvement in aerosystems venandi was purely as a commissioned artist. he was not involved in the development of any mechanics in our supplement. i read a few comments on reddit accusing terk of tracing some of his art; however, after browsing discussions on this server related to his ban, i am not able to verify this. any clarification on this matter would be appreciated. at this time, we do not know if terk engaged in plagiarism when creating his works for ASV.

additionally, terk does not receive any continuous monetary gain from ASV. all of his works for the supplement were commissioned before ASV was published on itch. all money made from sales goes directly to us (minus a small processing fee paypal takes). if you purchased ASV, or you are considering buying it, your money will never make its way to terk.

of course, we at tacklestab! do not approve of or engage in plagiarism in any fashion. the mechanics of ASV were developed with the assistance of our internal playtesters and various reddit users who provided us with feedback.

So I just downloaded the lcp to look through it, and I came across the Juden Knife/Sheol Blade in the exotic equipment list, and I was curious where the names came from; a lot of SSC gear is themed (the Monarch's missile launchers are all named after bows used by Hindu deities/mythological figures), but Juden/Sheol I think are Hebrew? And the flavor text in COMP/CON references it being an SSC prototype, so I wanted to find out more.

what's people's experience been with the tyto? I have a player who's looking at lightshaft and fi/fl/fr for a dusk wing, the latter especially seems quite strong! it's basically a jam against most controller/support frames

you’ll still be able to challenge your players for sure. it won’t break your encounters, but your mileage may vary. i generally don’t like the gm vs players mentality, but if you’re wanting to “counter” this player, you’ll do it best by splitting their attention away from or between those backliners they’re looking to punish. a flying cataphract would work really well for that, or really anything that can get up close and personal

Movement Actions are basically a protocol, so they're 1/turn by nature. Hunting Stoop Position 1.2 means you can use Dive at any point in your turn and get a free Boost out of it.

well that’s not a peregrine, but formorian would work, or if you’re in the right situation, the assault vectors trait. you could also use the disengage action.

if you’re planning to overcharge a lot with this & have high heat, you may get more damage out of the pressure cutter over the fusion rifle, though.

I was "mostly" just concerned with the fact that Autostab is countering Inaccuracy so it would fire at +2 difficulty unless I missed previously. and that it would be clunky on the fights where the Exclave Zone is active since you can only "Overwatch" once per turn.

but in the inverse Asura is once per scene and the Birder is constantly active around my Lancaster and Blackbeard friend.

here’s my interpretation. i think you could get there with just asv and first party content. it’d be peregrine 2, nelson 3, monarch 1:

  • peregrine frame
  • improved armament/mount retrofitting
  • grab a second core bonus to taste, i’d probably go with gyges frame
  • power knuckles
  • sharanga missiles
  • main melee weapon of your choice (you could grab raptor talons at ll7, or forego monarch 1 and replace sharanga with a gms launcher)
  • ramjet
  • momentum amplifier
  • upshot pulsejet
  • javelin rockets (optional)

Does the wingedge blade damage get stopped by armor? If so, do multiple wing edge blade Engagement damage ticks add together for the purposes of armor, or do they all count as 3 separate 1 damage ticks (with improved armament, for instance.)?

Makes sense so it does get hella shut down by any armor. Okay thats understandable

if it didn’t it’d be quite overpowered imo. gives you a really fun grunt deletion system though

The raptor talons are a good option but its also dependent on team comp of course
