the majority of builds will slot into one of these archetypes
more looking at how to build mechs
not the archetypes
i'm wondering what regular marauder I should run
thoughts on 5M?
fine but not particularly interesting
@urban shell https://mwomercs.com/news/2026/05/3076-patch-notes-may-19th-2026 interesting patch notes
Shadow Hawk IIC is now available for cbills with this update
I do like how open they are with explaining things
The arrow nerf explainer is because everyone's mad that AIV is good
TSP mechs look kinda spooky too tbph
yeah I like the explanations
and how they would've preferred to balance it sooner they just couldn't
no as in the reason for the explainer is because many people are mad
cant wait for the mercs update honestly ^^
is the website down?
yeah the website is down, that's weird
was trying to read the patch note
god this thing is stupid
oh whoops lol I never got around to responding to this: Clan mechs have an inherent advantage due to better tech but typically will have worse quirks, especially defensive quirks, than their IS counterparts. Also, a lot of clan weapons will do splash damage or fire in bursts (cERPPC, cAC10s, cUAC5s) which spreads damage around while IS autocannons fire single projectiles
compare a HAG40 where it fires in a long burst and does 20% of its damage as splash to a HGR which is 25 pinpoint single projectile
IS also has stuff like snubs that play a very good short range game and there's no clan equivalent
IS LRMs also fire the entire launcher at once instead of cLRM streamfire
Ironically stream is actually better in MW5 since the missiles don't crowd each other
So they're more likely to hit
The Mercenary's Guide to Vehicles is an anthology series in parallel to Battletech 101, serving as a primer and guide for the various armored vehicles you may encounter on the battlefield. MechWarrior 5 Mercenaries - Chaos Reign
Three years have passed since the victory against the Clans and the truce of Tukayyid came into effect. Even still, chaos threatens to erupt at any moment across the universe. ComStar's be...
the memes are real and they come in glory
"I've never heard of your outfit before in my life" Buh-scuse me?
(context: by this stage of the campaign you'll be head of one of the most famous merc outfits in the entire Inner Sphere)
SPOILERS FROM THE TRAILER SOMETHING A BUDDY NOTICED
having literally participated in like 1.5 succession wars, and a bunch of other stuff like the Solaris game at the eve of fedcom
And possibly regularly rolling over lances from other infamous outfits
Clan Crusader Georg is back.
so overall, i like the new mechs the dlc added but the missions are kinda ehhh
I want the new dlc but I'm waiting a few weeks for my mods to get updated
You can get all the way to Terra in HBS BattleTech?
this is mechwarrior 5
part of the dlc, we are officialy in the deep shit
Welp, guess we know what the next DLC is
This'll be the first time we've seen the ||Jihad|| in video game form isn't it?
so not yet the funny moment
we still have operation bullfrog and ofc, the civil war to deal with
technically the game jumped the game by renaming terra to world of blake.
the next big event is in 3058 with the second star league and beating on the worst clan to ever clan, smoke jaguar, and...well....the long years of pain that me as a davion fan will face
Thinking, would 2LPL 2ERML 2SRM6w/Art be a good build for a jump-capable Timber Wolf?
poptart with SRMs for close?
I was thinking more brawler, but, I guess it'd make a good mid-ranger poptart, yeah.
probably better off going all in on the lasvom
2SRM6 is less threatening than a lot of light mechs and you'll run into overheating issues if you've been firing the lasers
something like this and its largely chassis agnostic
Hm.
if you want SRMs on a timb you want 4x
2x does basically no damage
@urban shell am I missing any notable binds? want to drop the action layer
hee hee
that thing's going to be goofy
it's mildly more heat efficient with cLRM20+20+15 and the 30% spread is going to be disgusting
does fairnuff qualify as clanner speak?
that depends, is that a contraction ? if yes ? DEZGRA
if not ? then sure why not ๐
see your correct
the clans hate contractions, UNLESS is their contractions
hypocrisy ? in my clans ? more likely then you think
I mean contractions aren't the same thing as portmanteau
but "we speak english correctly"
and then they use portmanteau is, yep
Nuff is a contraction of enough I think what Matheus is saying
I mean so is Aff
though
true!
it should be fairengh
or something silly like that
Oh yeah Aff is a contraction but on of the kerensky kids used it a lot so it's fine
Or how Bachall is short of Battle Chalinge, but it's compoent conractions are ones that claner culture is ok with. it's one of the several forms of hiporacy that shows up
Like how elementals often dont make it past star comander
clearly only mechwarriors are suited for higher roles
trully the joke is to walk into outreach, look a wolf dragon straight in the eye and go
"lovely weather in Strana Mechty quineg ?"
So, the reason that Clanners seem to be hypocritical in this is that English does not distinguish syllabic abbreviations from non-syllabic abbreviations. They don't mind the former, but hate the latter.
In fact, both German and Russian use a lot of syllabic abbrevaiations.
