There isn't really a 'good' option vs the Frankie. If you're beating on her, she's getting tougher. If you're ignoring her, she's getting stabbier.

Yeah, I had that with the Naan in my homebrew. It had an integrated weapon that was central to its identity, and then I couldn't come up with any licensed gear that fit it, so it had to die.

Your standard tactic will be the Infiltrator hide loop, but you've also got control and support options.
Hide looping, like OC looping, is a fragile and centralizing tactic that leaves your friends more exposed, so don't rely on it too much. Hull and Engineering investment means you can afford to be out in the open some turns.
War Puke is good because it's got extra reach and knockback, and unlocks Bulwark mods as well.

1/round, when a mech character within the Gluttony's Sensors and line of sight takes structure damage or is destroyed, or when a wreck within Sensors and line of sight is destroyed, the Gluttony may consume it. If it does, the Gluttony or one adjacent allied character regains 1 charge of a Limited system of their choice. A destroyed character or wreck that is consumed this way is removed from the battlefield; it does not leave a wreck behind or trigger any other effects that would take place on its destruction.
Like, if an ally gets structured a few times, can I consume all of that?
You can consume all the parts but yes, if they don't leave a wreck you don't eat the wreck

@carmine nymph So I finally got around to playing a Gluttony. Pretty uncomplicated, short of tracking all 34 of the limited charges I had on it, to keep firing the beeg gun
My turns took like 3 minutes each
Many Limited Charges
That experimental weaponry added 2d6+2 of those
As did 4 points of Engineering across a fuel rod gun, grenades, and turrets
Oh and the blast plating
For a oneshot pretty good. I had 17 charges left at the end
In a campaign this would take ages to get all those charges back >_>
Overall verdict: that worked pretty well, in a single-minded kind of way
I always just take Iskander 1 and a pair of Stub Cannons. That's 12 charges at least.
I did only have LL3 to work with here
So no other license dips available
But yeah, I bet there's a bunch more limited charges available all over the place
Stubbies are probably the easiest to get hold of since you probably want HA anyway for increased charges too

Yeah, I know it's a lot of drones, but that's what I was looking to invest in. Was considering that I could swap out the tempest for a phenex, binding ring for another flauros. Gorgon just there for 3 horus licenses, but I also could pick up hydra 3 for assassin drone.

I wouldn't put OpCal on a limited weapon. For one thing, the bonus damage is kinetic, not burn.

Yep. Any type. Though I'd not recommend putting the guns on humans or squads

I was toying around with building a Rasputin pilot last night (for the mental exercise of "Liminal Space is allowed but the group has strikers already") and had a good amount of fun, I really like the targeting laser
Spaceborne seems like it may be troublesome, but extra movement is valuable
The targeting laser is really good value I find for mechs that have a heavy mount but don't really plan to go Maximum Damage (And even then, it's still a heavy, just not an absolute gangbuster one for raw damage)
I chose Slasher Sustainability Suite, since the Rasputin can offload overheating rolls onto its structure and not worry about it
My other thought was a Charity; I prefer the Lust, but the free tech actions the Charity look fun, and I have not played a Sysop character yet
The art is a bit silly, but I liked it when I first saw it
Synergizes well with other friendly quick tech options
I want to play a Charity that doesn't do tech at all. Just skirmish and knockback.

Unless you've got a way to grapple or ram at range, you can't really do that, as you still need range to the target.

The ram/grapple are still from your own mech.
(Does mean that a Spartoi Blade + IF Rowan can do some silly things as they can ram at range)

with duelist 3 it's normally range 1, rather than the range/threat of the weapon used
duelist 3 doesn't give your mech the blackbeard trait to move as part of the grapple / pull enemies as part of the grapple
You can, potentially, use Hunter 3 or an integrated melee to lunge at the target beforehand. They're both triggered free actions.

Had the pleasure of playing a Nimue for the first time at ll2 yesterday and adored it, one of the most fun things I've played in lancer. The experience and some ideas for later builds brought up a question, though.
With ripples on the lake and effecgs that require certain ranges, can't quite figure out how to word it, but for example, an enemy has siege armor, I use Ripples with a melee weapon with threat 1. The target counts as valid and in range for those attacks, but the attacks still originate from beyond range 3 so it'd have resistance, right? It'd be the same for other effects like hyperdense, vanguard 1, etc, where the nimue itself has to be at those ranges to count for them?
