There's two ways to measure how good a mon is: CP and level. Master League is capped by level, 40/50 depending on league, so a 15/15/15 is always better. The others are capped by CP (500/1500/2500).

Basically, attack IVs are "worth more" CP, so if you have a low attack IV you can squeeze in more levels. This means you'll have a higher defence and HP, while having approximately the same attack. The difference can be quite drastic in some pokemon.

so for tink who maxes out at around 2600, GL best would be 0/15/15 and UL best would be around 13/15/15, but it's not really wrong to run a hundo in UL for CMP

10/10 explanation. To further your inevitability painful IV grind @proper iris , you can find a specific Pokemon’s ideal IVs/their IV Ranking amongst the same species on pvpoke.com. Here’s how to:

Go to Team Builder, select your league, then add the Pokemon you are checking, then select ‘Edit/Check IVs’.

There after adding your Pokemon’s IVs you’ll see its rank.
You can click on the Rank itself and see how it stacks up in other leagues too, as they are all graded differently.
Ie: Tinkaton’s best IV spread in GL is 1/14/14 (see picture below, get flexed on). In contrast, UL or ML will always prefer an Attack value of 13-15. Good luck & have fun👌

Also don’t purify any shadow in the name of increasing the attack. A 0/0/0 vs a 15/15/15 is ~7-10% different in overall stats, while shadow is a flat 20% boost.

When I first started PVP I worked only on my Master Team, then realized it costs 300k (Legendaries) to even spread your movepool out. Did it anyways, then would lose matches w/ type advantage bc I was underleveled by at least 1500 CP😭 called it quits when I realized I could’ve made 9 GL Teams w half of a ML Team💀

Ignore the ppl saying don’t play ML league bro. They’re prolly bad at it or don’t want to take the time to invest. But to answer the question it depends on what you plan on teaming it with. Personally I would purify and use the Hundo to match the bulk of the steel types flooding the meta rn. You’ll still be able to do significant damage to them but won’t lose as quickly to other dragons. But if you pair him with some bulky teammates the shadow is definitely a viable option too.

The mons I'm using aren't level 50 full sends as don't have the XLs for that when I do Master League. But personally, I've had better luck using my Shadow Garchomp than my Normal Garchomp when I have dipped my toes into that league.

Either works. Think it ultimately comes down to how much you specifically want the Hundo, but I'd personally keep the Shadow and use the 15/15/14 if you wanted to use a nonshadow since that Shadow has plenty worth left as is.

Naw even with 13 atk you’ll still do significantly more damage with the 20% boost. I just don’t like shadow dragon in master league because the fast move pressure alone can be enough to ko if you run up against palkia, dialga etc

For great league and ultra, you want low attack and high def/hp. Each gives points towards cp, attack specifically gives a lot of cp per attack, while def and hp give less. By having low attack, you gain waaaay more def and hp stats and overall make it much stronger. If you youtube it there are way better explanations than my 2am insomnia one you’re reading.

It sounds like you think the higher the CP the better which isn’t true. You can have a 1499 hundo vs a 1495 best iv mirror match up and the 1495 will win the match up easily probably still with yellow hp left. You get WAY more hp in most cases with only a very small atk drop off. The only benefit to having higher atk really is winning cmp. This happens because you can level up the pokemon to a higher level without going over 1500 cp. the 1499 hundo would only be like level 19 where as the 1495 could be like level 27 or 28

Attack influences cp the most. in capped leagues like GL and UL, you want low atk and high defensive stats so that you can power up your pokemon more before hitting the limit. a 0/15/15 would end up higher level than a 15/15/15, thus having more bulk so it can give and take hits better.

the only difference is if a pokemon maxes out beneath the limit like umbreon for example maxing at around 2400 as a hundo level 50. for UL you'd want a hundo umbreon, while for GL you'd still want the 0/15/15. for master league you always want a hundo or close to it.

Okay so something ppl haven’t said is that the IVs aren’t you total stats. They add on to each Pokémon’s base attack. Let’s use this quagsire for example his base atk is 111. Even if he has 0 atk IV it still has 111 base atk.

Max Defense and ideally HP IV are the main goals on that side for Blissey. Attack IV doesn't really matter at all.

As for moves? You want Pound for the fast attack and Max Spirit and maybe Guard afterwards maxed.
