The server I use has 4 times people so it less much of an issue, but, when I do "ferries" (good name btw) I just have "Su:hosting the same raid multiple times. Please don't rejoin" in the announcement. And the gym names are auslobby1...auslobby9etc.
I don't even pay attention to repeat customers because it is normally 1 or 2 at max and 8 is still easily enough to beat the raid.
4 repeaters is definitely disastrous.
This server is very new, has only a few active mods, and doesn't have a lot of reliable hosts who host ferries, so the issue could probably be a learning problem for the members here.
I imagine the more ferries that are hosted, the better everyone would get.

Yes like I said follow the $bo to get the players out of the gym and back in your lobby. Then $reset to let more people join your lobby, then you could try again with a full team. Its oki discord can be difficult at times 😊

intetsu82 didnt send a request, spent a good bit of time telling them but they stubbornly refused they hadnt. when i opened the channel realizing realtrade got ditched they rejoined and finally sent at that point. @warm dirge

TopVierHerne @flint river @genericsimpess both were in the lobby of seven at 10 seconds and backed out on the group of (my 2 + realtrade)

RealTrade + my 2 stayed in (both higher level) + 2 randoms. between my two high level RealTrade and the two above they would have won

RealTrade btw was relobbied and didnt lose a pass

I think its ok to hatch an egg under specific conditions: there can only be a few minutes before hatch (to coordinate) and there can only be one boss hatching from that egg. So during Kanto we didn't allow them at all, as there was 4 possible bosses. Best practice is to just wait!
