Astral Ring types dictate the gameplay style of the team
World Star is a regular P1 rotation outside of SO and is about placing resonance marks and detonating them in SO
Wheel of Destiny is hypercarry playstyle, the DPS has 90% of the field time
Law of Ascension is about very fast rots and enhanced QTEs
Rite of Oblivion is a wildcard, it doesn't have special gameplay mechanics but the playstyle can differ a lot (Vita DPS is closer to WoD while trio is closer to LoA)

nobody really knows, but they said that they want to finish part2 story, so it's probably at least 3 more years

also, your gameplay comparisons are really off mark because while zzz's combat mechanics might be similar to hi3, the meta dynamic is very different because of the hi3 gamemodes (competitive ladder abyss, and a bit of memorial arena too), so the pulling and farming strategies must be very different, as well as release strategies from hoyo's side (what synergies to plan, what is the scope of each character's usability, the planned lifespan, etc etc)

I personally think that on average, each location would take way less time than LangqiuRumia because the initial set up might just be longer

like, how deep the story onion might go after we'll get a playable Leylah? it might not be that deep to take 11 years

There's still 11 left and arcs take twice as long to release since they cut chapters in half.

the main 2 things i love from HI3 is no 5050 and no RNG dependant gear viability
