• raven does fire a few shots at you before disappearing to the wall at the start of transition. you can evade away from these to farm and/or attack these
• you kinda don't want to get too close to raven as you mash evade. If you feel you're getting too close, consider evading sideways against a wall to let raven move ahead and create some distance (a third to half a room roughly maybe?)
• for this cycle, it can be a consideration to sena ult > HLE QTE against the arrows to rebuff from HLE

Maybe also check out wyverein's channel they have some DPS comparison between supports, note that you shouldn't take DPS at face value and always consider how fast/what utility that team has but it's a good starting point

overall HLE seems the most encouraging choice. You at least have HoHE at worst to support her.

In general all the viable ELFs specialize in a type of damage during outburst in exchange for less initial Astral Ring Intensity (ARI, outburst energy) compared to the default dreamseeker. So you mainly consider them if you have a situation where you don't need to rush into outburst but need more damage from it.

As for astral ops, dreamseeker is fine enough for most intents and purposes.

Gacha astral ops otherwise all specialize in a particular team ring type loosely speaking. So for example
songque - world star
sera - wheel of destiny
theresa - law of ascension
chenxue - grail of infinitude
i'm going to assume you know what each ring types are but if not, please check out #👶beginner-help for the ring faq i brought up recently there.

anyway for each ring type, the general main things to look out for are more damage of course, but also most especially ARI. This can be in the form of

• how much initial ARI you start with
• ARI regen rate
• ARI gain (usually after a first outburst)

considering how outburst is your greatest source of damage nowadays, having better control of how early or when you trigger outburst, and being able to resume a second one is very potent.

However this potency is only really appreciated and realized at a nirvana level honestly. This is why we tell most players to not bother investing in gacha astral ops. edit: Furthermore most gacha ops have their main effects at SS rank (need to pull two copies), making it quite costly (oh oops the faq already covered that)

There's more i could say about finer aspects (e.g. chenxue reducing ult cooldowns, using sera for horb dps instead of songque) but that's more niche and fight specific.

Should I Pull AstralOps?

NOO CAPTAIN!

If you are a f2p meta player, you should not pull gacha AstralOps - only players who are retaining or trying to retain Nirvana should consider it if they have the funds (unlikely for f2p players).

Reasons:

• Dreamseeker is good enough despite being free.
• Too expensive, especially if they need SS (~20-30k).
  • AstralOps have the same cost as a gacha weapon, therefore pulling one may result in being unable to afford a Valkyrie's weapon down the line (for meta players, this means skipping said Valkyrie entirely).
• The damage and score increase they provide in Redlotus and below is often minimal and not needed to retain.

All that said, if you're pulling them because you like them and want to run around some specific story areas (it's not much) with them, then it's fine. Make sure there's nothing else you want to spend your crystals on.

I think that video was a really bad run in general, but it showcases my problems really well. Mainly I’m not sure what to do exactly after Thel’s combo attack since I end up being in the air but not in the air high enough to do a basic attack sequence so I just do a hold but that’s not as optimal.

i haven't looked at it yet but i personally opted for air weapon tap > air weapon ca > ground basic 3 alot for this fight

because of how raven would become jugglable after plume of rage is triggered but then after a while gain "superarmor" and will fall back to the ground, making air basics awkward

air basics are fine as long as they lead into an MoI though

so another thing you may consider is ground basic 3 > weapon tap > air basic 3 > MoI (can refer to miku's run)

keep in mind ground and air basic 3s are separate and benefit from thelema's passive

and raven attacks quite rapidly (but predictably) to induce alot of hitstun

if you can figure out how to weave them in then sure but basic 3s feel most valued

air basic hold is at least kind of fast and brings you back down to the ground

i'm sure there's scenarios for it (past hov fights) but i personally never use it unless a newer ref does it and i'm copying it exactly

you do want a slower final attack before MoI (not ground hold weapon which is very fast) during outburst so the third phantom doesn't get cancelled before it hits, but other attacks can be good enough

just use thele weapons to keep the zaychik effect up. Everything else is passive. Stellar drain is shared too.

evade towards raven. If you get too close, evade against the wall to let raven get ahead a bit

you only got 3 stacks

so you lost an ARI pack that would've dropped at 6 stacks

can visualize above your hp bar

if you get hit by a bird, then the stacks would drop

try not to burn both jumps on thelema immediately either

raven does hurt and the hitstun does slow you down so evading is ideal. her attack patterns are fixed too so it's predictable

but it can be hard to to time if things go inconsistently

we don't have much time left so if you can't do it well, and can tank the hp for it, consider just sticking with your agenda

btw phase 2 starts with

• raven drop kick at your location (regular evades only since it's a purple flash)
• raven backs up for two arrow shots
• raven then melee swipes at you

i might be missing something but anticipate those attacks

you may have to account for more. i get into outburst to end the fight around that time personally

rushing to the first plume bar is fine so she doesn't interrupt you in outburst

but after that, you may consider ignoring it for a while so you don't waste outburst time from a counter attack

you can attack before the drop kick connects. So MoI + ult > anticipate the 3s before evading the drop kick

2:16 sena buff ran out. This could've been fixed with 6 stacks in transition or evading better to farm more ARI as thele. Make sure to outburst at this point. You might be tempted to finish a final MoI but it might not be worth it unbuffed.

you can see from the thumbnails or even watch the fights that even the ideal gacha op doesn't benefit too much at a red lotus level (semi highest abyss tier and the main one we recommend for work:reward ratio from abyss)

these differences can vary from fight to fight, cycle to cycle, even for the same teams though so don't read into these numbers too deeply

at a nirvana level the fights are longer making a second outburst more common, allowing well ranked gacha ops to stand out more. Additionally competition is greater too so even small differences in scores matter more there

yeah if you feel you can get a competitive score, do it early so you get the tie advantage

but if you feel you're lacking and can barely retain at your best, consider actually masking your score and sniping so people don't look at your score as a general threshold to bypass

You can also try doing a good run on the main stage malding and then not finishing the third side stage so your score looks lower than it is (but you can still easily bump it up last minute without risking your run). I think this is lame but it does work

Like if you score 3750 on last stage and then only 5900 on side stage it looks like your score is 3650

You still gotta actually do the side stage but if your main run takes 20 times to do it properly it would be embarrassing to fail abyss because you put it off for too long

You can just quit right before you kill yeah

Side stages keep score for you in the upper left hand corner

So once you get to like 5500 you slow down your damage and like, plink away with basic attacks

Until you hit whatever number you want. And then quit

i already feel something weird is going on if you're referring to the things as an ice abyss generically. Every abyss has a weather, but the combination of that with a boss makes it cater to a specific dps. So rather more versed players would say it's a thelema abyss or something

the fact you feel you could've easily improved it is a bit of a red flag

and as i've said, you can check references loosely to get a rough idea what a good number could've been

there aren't really dedicated reference creators for lower tiers of abyss, but obviously since they're weaker, you can assume something higher than a red lotus number

but overall even if the weather is ice, doesn't mean all ice valks will work, especially older ones. It's the combination that leads to something specific

and for the recently passed weather, the fight and dps valk themselves are also quite technical and complicated

so you can really gain a strong leverage with putting more effort and knowing the details of what you were doing

So basically what i did was uhh I didn't play As soon as abyss opened and played it a day before it closes so thats what i did. I guess that's also where i got the assumption and judged the bracket cuz there were already some people that played . AND YES I'm a returnee, made a new acc, so despite the abyss being raven i used HLE FDD PS beginner cope as i had nothing better for it ( TvT). I only got 733 yet it somehow still put me at 1 with the second person actually having a thele team ( i dont actually know this person's team comp but was using a thele at the least) at 730. idk what other details i need to say but that for some of it

again the RL score with thelema i posted earlier was 777-800 points so for lower agony tiers, higher scores are expected for capable or trying people. But again i don't expect those as much the lower we go.

my main advice when going through these is to not expect to copy them 1 for 1 exactly. Rather, observe bits and pieces of each run and try to incorporate them into your own. Try to understand the purpose of each action too

if you want anyone in particular, i personally recommend hieu le who i've been linking often. They often put out high quality RL and nirvana references

but beware they tend to perform a bit too highly than most people can reasonably expect/have high ranked ops or even high accmulated account atk (dkeys, affixes, dorm)

personally I don't think the prime purpose of sniping is to make people think you're a slacker. While slackers are common, from my experience and just as you evaluated before for your own abyss, it doesn't exclude you as a possible threat when people look at you.

the main purpose is so they don't know what score they need to surpass you if they aren't capable of playing optimally.

What you said is still a valid idea at the end of the day though. I'm just looking to add enrichment/insight if posssible at this point.
