tbf that's not indicative of much, I had the same happen with loader and arti flamer and han-d saw

night python
#

It will ALWAYS move you somewhere
Unless you really fucked up

#

I used dive for a few runs and I learned
Some things.

#
  1. It's still pretty bad
  2. It's surprisingly useful if you get hit often because of how relevant knockback is in that game
  3. Who gave commando climbing claws from terraria
#

It's not good but it's more useful than you might think

grim junco
#

i use it quite often just bc it looks cool and i never thought about number 2

night python
#

If you were really sweating
It could compete with slide
As in using it to its fullest at every possible moment
But like lmao

inland rover
#

Who has time for that

#

Youd probably have to be pretty crazy to spend that much time using roll

weak mulch
#

didn't those let you attach to walls?

#

or was that the combined item from the two climbing related accessories

night python
#

That's the tiger set

#

The climbing claws give you a jump but you glide down the wall slowly

#

You can roll into most walls to get a "jump"

weak mulch
#

ah right

#

it sometimes worked like a btec grapple

#

because I think if you had any jump height modifiers you could bounce jump off and back onto the wall to go up and up

night python
#

Yeah you can

thick nest
#

i remember when hopoo said yeah roll is bad and should probably get buffed and then in sotv(?) it got NERFED happiesttroll

inland rover
#

It got nerfed in anniversary

#

If anything roll got shadow buffed by sotv jailers bc you can roll to reduce their pulls strength

#

And it’s surprisingly useful for traversing the new maps

grim junco
#

think SotS is gonna buff it?

night python
#

No

#

If gearbox is following hopoo's footsteps almost nothing from vanilla will be significantly changed

#

And sotv probably won't get touched at all
And if it does it'll be very very minor

grim junco
#

well do we know if they are following Hopoo's footsteps yet? (I haven't looked to much into gearbox so idk how they treat games)

night python
#

They're doing the same thing with the DLC store page

#

And quite frankly

#

It'd be stupid not to

#

Because they have to keep the community's trust

grim junco
#

ah right

night python
#

And the easiest way to do that
Is to change as little as possible

#

Pretend nothing changed

grim junco
#

shame, i want a Mando roll buff and there isn't a ror2 feedback for it

if only the meteors in the sky came crashing down and deleted spare drone parts or gesture 😼

weak mulch

oh right

weak mulch
grim junco
weak mulch
#

they put a lot of emphasis on lore in their mini-video about future direction which was a bit odd considering how few people play RoR for lore

#

but cool nonetheless!

inland rover
#

when you consider the name of the dlc the theme makes sense

grim junco
scarlet ether
weak mulch
#

and an "in the back" kinda thing

scarlet ether
#

im generally okay with them fleshing out the antagonists a lot and leaving the protagonists as vaguely explained

#

which seems to be the direction they're going

grim junco
#

i hope so

coral bobcat
#

I'd be fine with Gearbox touching up a few survivor options

#

Maybe not something maaaajor, but things like making merc's i-frames more consistent would be nice

civic dock
#

how are they inconsistent? they seem pretty fine to me

vivid stump
#

It sometimes feels like you can be hit in what is an i-frame

#

I felt this a lot, especially on judgement

civic dock
#

given he was refering to gearbox and the talk up there was about sots, i thought toxi meant ror2

coral bobcat
#

I was referring to 2

inland rover
#

mercs iframes are pretty consistent in 2

coral bobcat
inland rover
#

that doesnt happen

#

ive never been hit during the iframes in ror2

#

taking damage is possible bc some things are coded to ignore it tho

#

blood shrines and void fog
also the void implosions

#

none of those are normal sources of damage tho

#

and blocking certain attacks doesnt prevent their effects from activating either
like gasoline and overloading orbs from exploding projectiles and overheat

#

all other sources of damage are blocked without fail

night python
#

Merc's iframes are too fucking consistent is their main problem

#

lmao

weak mulch
#

They also don't block DoT I think?

#

Which makes sense

inner pumice
#

they do

#

they also block collapse

night python
#

It blocks literally everything that isn't void fog and interactables that cost hp

inner pumice
#

(and void implorsions)

#

only thing that blocks void implosion is Heretic utility

night python
#

viend util

inner pumice
#

wait seriously

night python
#

Yeah you don't have a hitbox

inner pumice
#

damn i had no clue

night python
#

This also means that ignite from gasoline doesn't debuff you with heretic or viend
But it will with merc

inland rover
#

Huntress technically could dodge a void implosion huh

#

With blink

night python
#

Technically yes

#

Viend also technically has the best invul in the game

#

Despite not having the invulnerable status

#

Because it also cleanses debuffs

#

(The one thing that can hit you while your hitbox doesn't exist)

inland rover
#

Man just give roll debuff cleansing

weak mulch
#

Make roll remove your hitbox

#

We all know commando is a god

roll iframes 🤤

#

bro this thread should been closed so long ago

#

who was even the one who opened again?

flint arrow
#

Idk

#

It was on the top I think

dusty furnace
#

Id say its also a range problem, when you start out Arti is effectively a melee character without the benefits.

civic dock
#

the damage you get from chakrams and flamethrower early is a very good benefit

#

chakrams fall off after but flamer is still there

weak mulch
#

flamer falls off since its animation breaks with too much attack speed

bright geyser
#

The animation I believe stays the same just the tick rate is changed

civic dock
#

you will be able to loop without issues long before you reach said attack speed ammount
and by the time youre in said point of the game, youre melting everything forever

#

the bigger reason why flamer's direct dmg falls off is the same as chakram (but less worse) in the sense that most of it doesnt proc
though the bigger ammount of enemies can easily make it stronger with the multihits

inner wraith
#

I just realized in this run that Artificer procs Prison Shackes once on the Flame chakram and not on the pierce hits

#

oh

#

One sec

inner pumice
#

oh god the thread was revived

oak wing
#

yea, for some reason Chakrams are weird

#

they only have a hitbox capable of triggering on hits while it's moving, but while it's spinning in the air (applying fire dot) it doesn't actually have a proper hitbox

#

this is most notably with brilliant behemoth because the spinning chakrams won't explode but when they're moving towards an enemy or back towards you they will but it seems they can only hit an enemy once

inner pumice
#

I enjoy the flame chakrams in concept they're just kinda broken though

undone bramble
#

Back when people thought arti was bad

inner pumice
#

baxk when people sucked at the game yeah

Sounds like a skill issue

I don't think Arti is this bad I mean it takes some time to for example learn where chakrams are in their peak but I don't have any problems with it

Pretty sure Arti's a placement based survivor but idk

hello everyone i am an artificer hater i think she is the worst character in the game and all of her skills should be replaced with de-escalate to fix her thank u for listening
