thats because the game doesn't allow hitboxes to exist within each other to avoid getting stuck places. The game thus yeeted you downwards because a Grandparent has quite a bit of movement speed downwards when spawning, and while you would normally get pushed to the side, if you were on either a thin part of the stage or pushed too fast, you clip through. think this issue is more related to the engine if anything
have your friend verify files through steam, something may be missing
? It seemed like it was an issue with hit boxes? what would his files have to do with it?
i dont know, but verifying files is generally a good idea
IMO it's probably an actual bug, seeing how there was an error message, also I wasn't paying super close attention at the times but I'm fairly certain it didn't have any effect on gameplay
i believe its an issue where the game isn't able to process an interaction well, in this case something related to multiplayer. im not an expert when it comes to unity error codes so i recommend verifying game files to see if something may be missing (this was the cause of some issues in the past fairly similar to this)
I posted it in here so if it was a bug the devs could fix it, or at least that was the goal, I haven't had it happen since and I don't need any help fixing it

I have tested this with at least Artificer, it may be a problem for other characters too: When using Shadowfade while holding Will-o'-the-wisp, the wisp flame on the character's model doesn't disappear while intangible
Acrid is stuck in the barrier in the middle of his utility. for some reason unstuck after 3-5 minutes
known issue that Ghor had previously investigated and he has no idea what causes it either. Just keep wiggling around and you get freed eventually (which is probably what you did)
Lately the game is starting to crash whenever I end a run on the pause menu

I checked and there's a lot of online players but the last couple days that I've set up a multiplayer server in public nobody has joined I'm not sure if this is an issue, if I am unpopular (lol), or if it has to do with the region that I'm in. I moved a couple miles down south outside of the US so I don't know if that has anything to do with it

I unlocked deja vu without looping. Like, I reached sky meadow and it unlocked
Playing a game where I have kjaros band with bandit and lights out doesnt proc it. Other players in my team is procing their bands. I have atg's and that procs the bands, but lights out doesnt.
I think I found a bug while playing the game 
I bought heretic items in the bazaar between items while using artifact of swarm and command, and now I can't move or use attack abilities (M1, M2, Utility and R)
I can ping, use equipment and look around but not move

if a monster gets guillotine (which they cant), they cannot execute you either when holding one
I mainly noticed this with the Clay Dunestrider, but if a teleporter boss gets deleted by a void reaver implosion, the red arrows showing the boss' location will stay pointing at its last location until the teleporter is fully charged.
I dont know if its relevant to this bug, but it happened in the same run I unlocked Acrid.

Kin rolls a monster, and if that monster isnt the same as the one VF roll, nothing spawns
Game runs smoothly in any condition except when switched to 2560X1140 (at any refresh rate, works fine in 1920x1440), at which point it renders a new frame every about 5 seconds but the game itself is running smooth (based on audio cues when moving mouse around). This only started after switching to windows 11. Any suggestions?
Update: Games runs fine as soon as window is out of focus or if vsync is on
may be related to windows 11 or your driver being wacky with vsync

I had a run just now where the second phase of the final boss fight incorrectly read "Horde of Many" instead of "Zenith Designs"
I'm assuming this happened because I never updated the objectives tab, I went straight to the arena with movement abilities and didn't even get "Find the Teleporter" updated to "Find a way to release the Rescue Ship"
thats because the little ball Chimera's didnt get the Zenith title. just a small cosmetic oversight that you only see if the first chimera is an exploder

hello, so im new to this game (ror2). yesterday, my friend and i were trying to play together. the problem of game was lagging(unplayable). our pc spec is fine if you wondering (gpu we use rtx 2060 and gtx 1070). yet, i dont think we have bad connection or ping since we also play other games smoothly (no lagging at all). any suggestion?

I don't know if many know about this, but with a lot of movement moves (Huntress Teleport, Bandit Smoke Bomb etc.) you can glitch under the map

artifact of whatever where monsters drop items instead of chests spawning is still broken as fuck, how come i always have to do stage 1 without one item dropping before boss? when in regular game i can open 3-4 chests comfortably without rushing anything???

Mithrix didn't steal my items in this run. I think this is due to the last blow activating a kjaro's band which reduces his hp before the phase started. I haven't attacked him after the initial hit.

Game crashes if a mountain shrine is interacted with while the teleporter boss is about to spawn, this was done in a multiplayer rainstorm run
i think it only happens if you interact with the shrine at the same moment the boss spawns

yes it can only be, for singleplayer the shrine would have to be pretty much inside the teleporter

The issue was my reading comprehension 😅 you have to beat void fields while on stage 7 or later. I thought you just had to beat 7 waves in the void fields lol

When you recover hooks of heresy (assuming visions or maybe strides as well) from mithrix while trying to use your beacons, it takes over and you can't place the beacon correctly anymore

Hi, I have a problem that prevents me from unlocking the "beat the game on monsoon difficulty" challenge.
So after completing the final stage and charging the last "teleporter" at the rescue ship, the screen goes black where the rescue cutscene should play. The sound is still fine, I can even see my mouse cursor and move it and hitting escape also opens the menu (which is not visible but the mouse cursor changes when you hover over one of the buttons), but it seems like I cannot progress further. I tried waiting for the cutscene to end/skipping it and click around guessing the location of the button that ends the run but that does not seem to work. I can only end the game through the menu (or things like alt+f4). But this way the game seems to not properly finish the run because there is no unlock and it also doesn't appear in the run history afterwards.
Is this issue known or is there a fix to it?

Alright, wasn't missing files but probably missing file privileges. Your reply reminded me I have the game installed on a different hard drive than steam so starting steam as admin solved it. Thanks a lot!
So, unsure of how I should structure this as a bug report as it's not a crash or anything that really needs a photo, but I just found that none of my runs where I obliterated are showing up on my run history at all. Is this normal? If so, it may be good to add a fix for this in the future.
I don't know how it happened but is there a known bug where you somehow get loads of lunar coins? Have been playing over the last few days and at some points I noticed my count went up by a huge amount a few times but I don't know when exactly. I have over 350k right now
im gonna assume you dont have any mods enabled. while most people just cheat in lunar coins to use them whenever they want, i have never seen this before. could you please try and reproduce the bug, and as soon as you notice your lunar count has increased substantially, die so your run ends, close the game properly and post the output log in #ror2-tech-support

I'll keep an eye on it, even though I think I always only noticed the higher count a while after it went up.

Often times while starting a game in multiplayer, one of the players won't load in and after everyone dies the end screen wont come up and chat wont open and tab won't work. The only way to leave is for the host to escape and close the lobby.
Friend and I completed stage 1 and went to the bazaar and when we used the portal to exit and proceed to stage 2 he unlocked Naturopath (Without healing, reach and complete the 3rd Teleporter event.)
is gesture still supposed to work after being taken in a cleansing pool
just did a run where i had two gestures swapped for pearls but my auto activate and cooldown reduction were still active the rest of the run

Artifact Reliquary leveled up several times after i put in the key at 50,000/100,000 health

this is a fairly minor visual bug, but i've been experiencing it for a very long time so in case it's not been reported i figured i'd share; this tree appears in the void fields spot below the exit portal, and disappears/reappears as i move around. I think it has to do with my graphics settings, as one of my friends experiences the same bug and another does not

Receiving a buff from an item (Red Whip, Unstable Tesla Coil, etc.), and then having that item removed while the buff is active, does not remove the buff from the player.
Currently, this is only known to be the case when scrapping the item. It also happens when using Remove_Item through DebugToolKit, but take that with a grain of salt, as it is a modded version.
i used unlock all on modded and all my vanilla progress dissapeared
im sure this has already been said but when i was on multiplayer doing the mithrix fight, the whole team died except for this one guy. He had a dios and when he died, everyone but him was sent to the continue screen. He was still alive and moving around, but nobody realized this and we all pressed continue causing the run to end even while he was still alive.

The game won't let me join my friend's game. I can enter the lobby and everything would be just fine until we reach the character selection screen, then it gets all buggy and this is what I end up seeing:
We both tried hosting the lobby and both of us are receiving the same sort of screen
Due to it working beforehand for both me and my friend, I think we're going to have to wait until it gets fixed on the game's end since we never had a problem before. But we're glad we at least got a reply, thank you
Yesterday I did a multiplayer run with one other guy, it was the only run I did that day. We died on the scavanger on stage 13. I got the gesture unlock on stage 1 (Distant Roost) and diablo strike unlock on stage 9 (Sundered Grove). Im not sure what caused it, it was still unlocked on my character afterwards so it's not visual

another bug around drones, they don't want to target mithrix for some reason. they do just really inconsistently or not at all
I've also noticed they sometimes target the player? not a huge deal but kinda annoying
they've never tried to shoot me. unless it's a healing drone but chaos is a thing and that will make em agro you

I am a user who enjoys 'risk of rain 2' in Korea.
If the host is set in Korean and multiplayer, friends who play with it will stop after 5 minutes.
It's been more than two years since this bug broke out, but it hasn't been resolved yet.
Can't you solve this problem?
It's so frustrating...
Friend and I cannot play together, have no clue what the issue is. We constantly try to play multiplayer switching between hosts and the game crashes for one of us the moment the game begins.

Couldn't find the Blood pillar after I searched for around 15 minutes straight. I looked on the spawn positioning, and 1 pillar failed to spawn, forcing me to end the run. Has anyone else had this problem? It wasn't an issue of me missing it, because I know they have the beams of light. The 3 completed ones were very visible in the sky, but there was no 4th beam or pillar to be found.
Hi, it just happened moments ago, i spawned off limits in the abandoned acueduct inside the elite lemurians room and i was trapped inside. Luckly i was playing with friends and they opened the door. Still wanted to report it.
Just encountered a bug, I was in the bazaar, bought stuff and went to get out, activated the portal, and while I was waiting for my Mandotter to be teleported, I alt-tabbed to check stuff... But when I came back on the game, it was frozen or something... I can press escape and have the pause menu come up, but pressing settings and resume only freeze things again... Until I press escape, which brings up the menu again, and so on and so forth
Edit : After briefly accepting the death of my godrun, I pressed "Quit to menu" and it worked fine
Okay, uh, I exited to menu and went back into the game... And despite having the settings enabled for them, there's no damage numbers, there's no EXP/Gold effects and I think effects in general seem bugged out, because when grappling Lesser Wisps with Loader and killing them, they just disappear, no poofs or booms, just... To the shadow realm they go
if power mode multi gets frozen by a cold elite(idk what the cold ones are called) he can still fire his secondary
The teleportation (eccentric) vase has a big hitbox(sometimes you hit the ground and can't pass a long distance)
Ukulele, Gesture of the Drowned, Mired Urn, Soulbound Catalyst, and Stun Grenade icons don't match the texturing that the item has when found in-game (Differences with texturing from the icon and in-game model)
Boss got yeeted out of the map without dying, god run softlocked because it's unreachable as mercenary.

unsure if bug or intended but the egg from the grandparent isn't blacklisted for the final boss which makes him pretty much impossible to kill

we were playing duo and fighting him and he was healing more then our damage
not bugged, because you dont need to kill mithrix to get your items back, just dealing a % of his hp refunds items

There is this spot my friend found on wetlands where as commando with slide you could consistently glitch through the floor, I didn’t see the spot but I saw him falling through the floor over and over
There is a spot in the middle tunnel of abandoned aqueduct where if you use volcanic egg you clip through the floor and fall out of the map
multiplayer game crashed, however it wasn't hosted, it was a pyre server.

i cannot really help you with that as Pyre is a 3rd party service, and i'm not very familiar with the workings of dedicated servers
if you can provide a full-detailed report with some logs in #ror2-tech-support that would be great help, someone who is more well-versed on the subject can take a look at it

Description
8/18/2021 seed, starting on Sky Meadow, traveling to Bulwark's Ambry (with command code) with the intention to see if Ambry counts as stage two or if hidden realms do not count and if it loops, requiring "3 stages" for trial completion.
Unexpected behavior
- The Reliquary would heal back to full health and stop shooting.
- The timer did not pause.
- This Reliquary was Overloading as it regained health in approx 7 seconds (and pinged revealed it was overloading)
- Reliquary did not have special elite prefix under the boss health
Repeatable
Yes. Running a quick modded test, the Reliquary is not elite due to
Artifact of Honor normally. It appears to be elite as it is the "second" prismatic trial "boss".
Desired outcome - The Reliquary should never be overloading
or - The Reliquary should never be elite
@cold horizon while your report is completely valid, the Reliquary was specifically allowed to be an elite type if Honor was selected, and it is more than possible if you let a few enemies spawn to quickly get keys back to back
Since I was in trial of command, I find it less than possible to acquire a second or third essence, select the key, and have time to interact with the reliquary every 7 seconds
If reliquary is truly allowed to be elite type, then it's name should have a prefix to inform players that it is indeed elite. But that point would be moot if reliquary is a special boss, involving special mechanics. If the purpose of overloading is to keep monsters around that will regenerate if left to their own devices, then reliquary should never be overloading, since players cannot damage the special boss normally unlike normal overloading monsters.

the cells integrate items but not monsters so its just empty

intended, because both kin and the void roll a monster, and if it is not the same, it will not spawn anything
thats not a bug, you have to pick up microbots yourself, the only way to do this is by killing a captain umbra. best done on stage 1, dont pick up any items and clear the tp, then wait for 10 minutes
If you get a newt altar on the first stage then go to void fields without healing you can get naturopath with only doing one stage.
Also if you kill one of the lunar robot guys during phase 2 in less than 5 secs as engineer you can get 100% calculated

Hello there. While trying to play the game in multiplayer mode, we witnessed a bug with a friend of mine. Player A creates a lobby and invites player B. Then player B seems to have Shift key constantly pressed. When Player B creates a lobby and invites player A - the same behavior is observed - with the player A seemingly having the Shift key pressed. I will attach a screenshot with the problem first happening in the Player selection screen. Also you will get the output_log txt file. Both of our games were not modded. thats a steam bug caused by overlay. simply press alt+shift again and close the tabs with your mouse, that should fix it
I found a weird bug earlier today. while trying to get some challenges I was misssing, I achieved to get all 4 heresy items in the bazzar between times. While taking the fourth one I transformed into the heretic but all I was able to do was moving the cam using my equipment, pausing and typing into chat (even though I was in solo)
My game runs 100+ frames but the game only renders in 2 uninstalling and reinstalling fixed only for awhile next time I launched it up it broke again :(

I found a bug where my healing drone got stuck underwater in gilded coast. it just was stuck there only able to rotate till a few lizards knocked it out. i guess the drones see the water as a solid thing they can't pass? or something like that.
now it's just not moving even above the water
not sure if this is a bug or not but i just beat the first eclipse thing with loader but it still says that shes on "Eclipse(1)", the first eclipse. I made it out with the ship and got to credits, was i supposed to stay until after credits finished or is it just bugged?
did you skip the credits and go back to the menu, or did you just alt+f4 the game?

So after one of my mates bought RoR2 we tried to get in a lobby but if he's joining us he's always stuck on the character selection and he cant click any of the characters. Then when we try and join him it comes up with the same weird bugged screen. Any ideas?

at point blank shots will sometimes be skewed up. normally this never matters however with mul-t rebarb puncher and commando phase round it does. i don't know why this happens and it only happens sometimes.
When holding m2 on mul-t and then using shift, a saw blade pops out behind him as he travels, even if you don't have saw equipped. This might not be a glitch, but another issue is that if you do this and you do have saw equipped (regardless of power mode or retool) then a glitched overlay of scrap launcher will appear on your left arm.
Another related issue is that if you use saw as your m1 in power mode and use transport mode while still in power mode, the spinning effect of the saw will appear vertically. When you exit transport mode the spinning effect remains vertical even though the saw model itself on mul-t is horizontal and stationary.

I don't quite remember how i managed to do this, but twice i got captains default crosshair stuck on the orbital strike one. I believe i had hooks of heresy both times this bug occurred. While trying to recreate the issue I found another with hooks of heresy where if you charge it just before you activate orbital strike and then release it after activation, then the crosshair will be replaced by the default one for the remainder of orbital strike. Although this issue is far less annoying, maybe someone could use this information to recreate the original glitch.

I think there is a bug on custom keybinds, i have an unconventional way of playing games in which I use the below
move forward: M1
move back: x
strafe left: z
strafe right: c
Having said that the moment you use the mouse as one movement key and the others are on the keyboard it auto unbinds a certain movement in my case my move forward and back just kept disabling from another button and there is nothing assigned to that key among the other controls, any other way of customising the config through the local files?
fell off stage 5 on loader and got teleported back up in between the teleporter prongs which were alligned with the planet. Got completely stuck and died.

Hello! Whenever our friend joins multiplayer he is able to play and do everything however somewhere during stages game randomly shows that he died even when he didn't (if he picks up fuel array from escape pod he even loses it) - he is still running around killing enemies etc.

you can skip the brooches and razorwire, they're only for safety in case you get hit. you could also get a fuel cell so you have 2 preon charges to wipe out the imps on stage 2 instantly

So I found a recurring bug with Captian, If you grab the Hooks of Herrasy and try to use your secondary beacon when it the hook is ready to use it overrides the use of the second beacon and takes it away from you and instead sends out a hook and sometimes leaves the beacon UI on your screen until you run to get rid of it though sometimes it stays around until you teleport to the next map. If need be I can get a video of it but this has happened every time I grab the Hooks with Captain so I know its not a one off thing. I always prefer the hooks to captains stun so this happens on almost all of my captain runs
Small Engineer bug:
If you use Thermal Harpoons and have Visions of Heresy, then expend all of your Hungering Gaze ammo, and then use Thermal Harpoon to go into Target Painting Mode and stay like that for 2s while Hungering Gaze recharges, then when you exit Target Painting Mode no matter how long you stayed in it you will have just one Hungering Gaze ammo, which will then begin to recharge again.

not sure if this is a bug but i was playing and i got to mithrix, i beat him in the second to last phase and he immediately dies in the final phase, like doesn’t even take a single item and dies right after the second to last phase
i was playing loader, and i don’t think it was any like on kill or on hit effects or stuff like that

its impossible to know its there because particles dont show up
on commando, if you get far enough into a run/possibly get too many items, my projectiles started to disappear and when i entered the teleporter my game froze and i had to quit the run. on the next few run i tried (on multiple characters) my projectiles were still gone and enemy/gold/xp effects were gone. restarting the game seemed to fix the projectiles missing and effects had returned as well
I had a massive lag spike when I was into a run the spike never stopped till the end, the frames was so slow that you could count them and also 3 minutes became 1 hour
This guy just single-handedly killed Mithrix ignoring his invincibility while taking items
not a bug. a yellow invinciblity shield means you can kill him during it, he just takes less damage. bands can also kill mithrix while hes stealing

i was playing command and sacrifice with a friend and we went through the artifact portal with the kin code. when we went through, it showed the pink artifact symbol in the top right, but didnt show the enemy and normal enemies spawned
another less important bug is if someone pings the artifact in the middle (after you finish charging it) and someone else grabs it, the ping will stay there after the artifact is gone

After stage 90, boss health becomes negative value and you cant damage them without shaped glass.
Found four mountain shrines on stage four, hit them all and then no bosses spawned. Game was still playable as it didnt ask us to kill the boss but it was very weird. No bosses, no boss fight item drop. We ran around the stage to make sure the boss didnt just spawn in the wrong spot. Nothing was there besides some hermit crabs we had missed earlier.
not a bug. the health has past the integer limit, so it just gets so insane its actually higher than the integer limit. its not actually negative, you can still kill it, but game is wack so it shows as negative

when you remove a boss from the map by pushing it with the mercenary, you are left in soft lock without being able to do anything

theres a spot in the starting room of commencement where a piece of geometry clips into it in such a way that it traps the player without any way to get out. if you fly across the top corners of the room you cant miss it
this spot is invisible until you get trapped and it's in a place where the player would probably expect to find an environment log, so its a big problem

Yes. Interacting with Newt Altar unlocks the switch on the profile to unlock the Soulbound Catalyst. Newts Altars on other stages seem to unlock this switch when interacting, even though Soulbound Catalyst has already been unlocked, but Sundered Grove doesn't seem to do this. I'm not sure if the write will occur if interact with Sundered Grove's Newt Altars when the Soulbound Catalyst isn't unlocked.

I found a bug who allow me to shoot with MUL-T (might work with other character) while using the Volcanic Egg along with Gesture of the Drowned.
You just need to keep shooting and wait for the Gesture of the Drowned to trigger the Volcanic Egg, and then you will fly and shoot.

It's probably a frequently sent bug, it's just a visual glitch where everything but level geometry vanishes when you put your back to a wall.

on MUL-T using the heretic stride ability while dual wielding nail guns and shooting both will cause you to be able to fire your left nail gun while in the stride ability
I've got (bad) news, it do the same thing when i'm getting frozen while shooting. Despite being frozen and not being able to move I can still shoot as long as keep shooting. I think this bug will happen with every status change that is supposed to prevent you from shooting.

Found an obscure bug: the Newt Altars on Sundered Grove (rootjungle) Aren't logged as Unlocks in your user profile, so they won't count towards the Soulbound Catalyst Unlock. I've tried it on all 3 Newt altars on that stage (the tree, underneath, and the tube)

Soooooooo it's probably been said, but apparently MUL-T's Auto-Nailgun allows you to use the red whip as a movement option when held down cause the first click of the button is the only thing that counts as an "attack"
There's a bug in Distant Roost while fighting stone titans. I was playing as Artificer; I had Ion Surge equipped and was using it to jump to reach the outskirts of the map to avoid the lasers from the titans, but, at a certain elevation in the open space outside of the main area of the level, the stone titans can summon their fists in the air. I was about 70 minutes in and lost a fairly solid run to this bug; I'm not mad or anything but it's definitely a rough bug to encounter. It looks like there's some kind of bug with the map and what's considered ground when you're slightly out of bounds or something?
The teleporter spawned beyond the open gate on that little cliff area, and if I floated around it's elevation, the titans couldn't use their fist move. If I used Ion Surge to leap up though, they'd be able to suddenly use their fist attack and hit me no matter where I was in the air.

There is a connecting error while playing multiplayer in korean. suddenly all character is stop and out to main page. plz fix this problem. all korean users are tired of this problem.
Unfortunately forgot to get an image, but there seems to be a bug with Captain's beacons where the beacon tied to your special isn't able to be cast. I've only noticed this when I am playing captain with Hooks of heresy active, but it's possible it is caused by something different. But despite the "Right"/M2 beacon not being deployed, the button icon will disappear for it. Sometimes I've still been able to use it, but sometimes it disappears and treats the Special like I've used both, thus preventing me from launching my second beacon.
The only other constant I've noticed is that both beacons were hacking.
Not sure if its known but its happened a few runs now, in multiplayer a friends personality cores (yellow item) would target me with their laser for entire stages after using a hellfire tincture
With Engineer, if you take hooks of heresy and thermal harpoons, you can reset the cooldown of "Slicing maelstron" by entering "target painting mode".

when playin MUL-T with scrap launcher and powermode, if you take hooks of heresy, after using your r ability if you end it with multiple shots on the scrap launcher than you have that many shots for hooks before you need to recharge it, it also has a shorter cooldown if you have multiple hooks so you can get them back faster and multiple stacks of it. I haven't tested it with anything else as i just noticed it in the last game i played.

Rare but yeah still a bug
Was doing a run for the commando 20 stages/no lunar items challenge, grabbed beads and went through the celestial portal at around 140 minutes, and ended up in a black screen. I was able to open the menu but the game completely froze at that point, and I had to stop my game. A quick google search reveals that this is relatively common.
it was to fast, i can't screenshot, but at 'Void Fields' part of the ground disappear and i fall in other part of the map

When you get Gesture as Captain/Bandit, advance a stage and lose it after that to a CleansingPool/Mithrix/Commands the game throws NullReferenceExceptions.
I tested this on a modded version with only DebugToolkit installed but it seems likely to be a vanilla error
I am unable to recycle anything, whether it be from rusted chest, monsters (sacrifice), or tp drops.
usually you would be able to recycle once and then a red X would appear on the item indicating that you may no longer recycle, but as you can see here there is no red X and I have not recycled. And equipment is not on CD
also maybe just my luck but I seem to have been getting a LOT of focus crystals, notably on stage 5 I got something around 3 in a row, and then 2 from gold portal. Just curious if there's anything that could be wrong

This has happened to me 3 times (or 4?) but this is the only ss i had.
This happened while playing with swarm and kin artifact and when the boss is wisp. The boss is far outside the teleporter sphere. This one is the most annoying. I cannot access nor attack the boss. This has happened in wetland, titan plains, distant roost. In the distant roost, the occurence were a wisp far off the sky and not flying down. Just attacking with malphite thorn.
Another case were alike but with stone golem enemy in sundered grove. The teleporter is near the cliff, but several golem boss is near the tree like the opposite part of the map.
Please kindly fix the bug or kindly explain the workaround. Its getting annoying if i had a god run and being stopped by this kind of bug.

so when u revive a clay doomstrider with happiest mask its absorb move seems to hit you and does a lot more damage than the regular killing you extremely fast

recycler sometimes just refuses to work for who knows what reason. also your luck is just good with all of those stacked prints
modded issue, launch without mods and see if the bug persists
the thing is that the game has a fix, and you bypassed it. everywhere around the stage is a killplain that instantly kills monsters, and tp's the player back to the stage. whenever a monster is knocked back with insanely high velocity, they move through the barrier and thus cannot die

what i meant is that there is a failsafe for this kinda stuff, but the wisp went so fast it ignored it

what kind of crash? does it have the ror2 logo compiling a crash folder or just black-out and game closes instantly/freezes entire pc

I leaped after using the bouncy pad into the mithrix area, and got stuck in the wall
well... "wall". i mean the barrier
So while still midair from the bounce, (about at the top of the jump) i started the leap and got stuck
keep wiggling around and you get freed eventually

For some reason, whenever i play the game and hop into a run, my abilities are all randomized from any mob and character (including the cut mobs like HAN-D).
As an example: I got the scavenger gun attack as an ability for a character, and the chain attack from HAN-D while playing loader. My friends can see it too
Another part of the bug is that every mob/attack/effect is changed for no reason. (fire elites have a permanent death mark debuff without any of the effects and ice elites use brilliant behemoth visual effect when they attack)
i just uninstalled and am reinstalling, will post screenshot if it happens again

its not so much of a problem, in fact, its meant to look like that as you are essentially on space drugs

I don't really know where else to post this, or if it's a known thing. I just found this one yesterday.
You can reach total invincibility and cheese the whole game... in just 3 steps.
- Play as Mercenary with Eviscerate
- Get at least 5 stacks of Purity.
- Spam Eviscerate on enemies.
5 stacks of Purity will bring your Eviscerate's cooldown to the point where recharges quickly enough to be ready before your I-frames go out, but only if you're attacking someone. I used it in the Void against Solus Probes, and in stage 5 against Grandparent's Solar Flare. I didn't take a single point of damage for as long as I was doing it. Even from Void.
Remember that this only works if you're attacking an enemy. If you missed then there will be a brief moment where you can be hurt.

It's still feels a bit cheesy.
Usually you grow so powerful that you can wipe out maps worth of enemies in seconds, but you also instantly die if you make a mistake/get unlucky.
This on the other hand is practically immortality. Literally nothing can hurt you (maybe except the Void Reaver's death. I didn't test if I would be protected from that.)
if you can find 5 purities you can generally oneshot stuff with procs, also merc has expose for a reason

in super late game ghors tome can completely softlock the player if your money overflows to a low amount and the teleporter decides its money drain rate based on that
then you pick up 1 billion gold while the teleporter money drain rate is only 200,000 per second
which means the teleporter takes an hour and a half to activate
SUPER BIG TERRIBLE PROBLEM!!!!!!!!!!!! I logged on to play just now and so much is gone! My profile was at 100% and is now at 88%. All Monster and Environment logs are all gone as well as ALL my Eclipse wins as all the characters. I revalidated local files and nothing is fixed. I still have all unlocked abilities and items but everything else has vanished. PLEASE HELP!
please i have over 900 hours in this game i can't just redo all that progress. The Eclipse is the worst of it that took so much time for me

can any1 help ? so i have a good pc. 16 gb of ram, gtx 1080 graphic card, i run most games on ultra at 60 fps but for some reason when i play ror2 it sorta just kinda lags a bit ? like it says the fps are at 59-60 it never goes under but randomly every few second the games just "shivers" idk how to explain it

i dont have a screenshot for this, and god i wish i took a screenshot because honestly it was hilarious, but the other night i was playing with a friend, vanilla artifact of metamorphosis run and when we got to commencement as commando i randomly unlocked the mercenary:flash of blades achievement. i dont think i even played as mercenary in the run at all, and i sure as hell didnt "use 20 abilities in 10 seconds" 
im sure this has nothing to do with it but we also had enigma and dissonance activated. also i never play merc so it truly was out of nowhere
That skill has a lot of issues to do with its unlock so not surprised
some chill effect may be enabled in your gpu driver or vsync is turned on

my character got stuck in the blue see through thing that surrounds the mithrix stadium.
I was there for about 30 minutes to try and figure out how to get there, luckily one of those lunar flying things came all the fricking way up and shot me. I am quite lucky. Then i went on to beating the game on monsoon/rainstorm (whatever it's called.. just the hard mode,) then i got a skin.
im assuming you tried to jump through as acrid (shift ability)
this is a known issue with an unknown cause, it was investigated by the devs but no solution for the bug itself was found. what you can do is wiggle around with movement keys or use certain equipments to get you out.

My game just crashed in phase 2 of mithrix fight on E4. I was playing rex and nothing special happened, but then It suddenly crashed. How can I find somthing like crash log?
The only thing that I can think of as a cause is that I used Directive: disperse against the orb from wisp chimera.
It just disappeared as I did, like the pots in abandoned aqueducts do.
Guys I don't know but I think glowing meteorite can inflict status effects on yourself
I got a death mark several times and all I could think of is either that meteorite did it or a special elite reflected my attacks. Any ideas?
@ember remnant It is most likely the meteorite/random scavenger. Yes, things that can harm yourself are able to apply status effects as well. For example If you use Captain's Diablo Strike on yourself with Runald's Band, It will apply slow.

Hi, I'm trying to unluck the prismatic trial achievement. I've gotten to the victory screen three times now with two different characters and I do not get the achievement, nor are my times registered. I'm online on steam and have had no issue unlocking other achievements. Any one know what is up?

Sooooooo , If you're playing with all mobs spawn as elite . I noticed during the Alloy Encounter if it spawns with a shield . Then when you get it to it's hp threshold instead of the shield falling off like normal. Alloy will keep the shield making it pretty close to impossible to Kill . Love this game first bug report i felt actually needed to be made lmao . ❤️
thats not bugged, fully intended, and it doesnt lock you either because even once it spawned you can ignore it
Hey maiby not the most urgent bug and also not 100% sure wether its a bug or something else but
Basicly i was messing around while bored in a call with friends and decided to go for a long run, i was at stage 66 with 3-4 hours on the run when i finaly get to mithrix, on stage 3 where he absorbed all my items i he just like died instantly, idk what happened it all happened quite fast, it might have just been happiest mask minnions taking him out so fast but im still not sure they could kill him in a instant.
Another issue i ran in to that at some point in the game enimies just stoped spawning for entire stages.
These bugs were most likely both from me having way to many items and/or playing for extending my run quite a bit more then i had to
I was basically speed running acrid to the final boss for mastery, but when I went to the arena to fight him, I used my frenzied jump ability in hopes of saving just a few seconds and got stuck in that walkthrough blue wall that lines the arena
I had to trash the run cause I was softlocked
I should probably also note that my movement speed was pretty high (3x goat hoof/energy drink, 2x red whip, and tonic active)
first bug is known, as mithrix can still be hit on the 1st frame of the animation, fire band is typically the culprit
second bug is not really a bug, just the directors saving up big credits in order to have a chance at killing you
known and reason for it happening are wacky. you can get out by wiggling with movement keys, and next time dont use your shift to enter the arena

idk if this has happened to anyone else but i activated the volcanic egg the frame i died and was still able to control the egg and the death screen didnt come up until the egg ended and my body went flying out of it

the game window constantly loses focus as looking in game in the direction of my second monitor then firing tabs off.
Using certain mobility abilities (Like Acrids caustic leap or Artificers ion surge) after using a geyser or the jump pads on the moon makes the survivor unable to make any movements until they touch the ground (Artificer can still use the jetpack, but it'll only make her glide into a fixed direction) This can cause a softlock on the moon, when acrids leap is used in order to try and enter the final arena while still having the boost from the jump pad. Acrid will just stick to the bubble, stuck in an infinite fall with no way out.
so i've found that if you have hook of heresy and are playing caption, you can't use your right click to summon a beacon, and my friend found if you hit one of the flying rocks in the meadows that can hurt yiu with directive: disperse, the chat gets filled with errors

firstly, geysers are meant to lock you into a direction until you land, this prevents them not working properly
secondly, you can get out with Acrid via wiggling with movement keys and using equipment if possible, that kicks you out eventually
Really? I tried spamming my movement keys for a minute straight and Acrid wouldn't budge in the slightest. I'd post a video clip, but discord doesn't let me.
Hello Devs! I have encountered bugs with controller support on PC. My problems include me needing to rebind all my controls 50% of the time I load the game (except for the ping control. I need to reassign the ping control 100% of the time). There is also problems with the joysticks. When I move my looking joystick in a new direction I keep turning in the previous direction for a second until it corrects its self and goes in the new direction. (I'm bad at explaining, hopefully you understand what I mean). I know this isn't just me having a bad controller because I don't have these problems in other games and I tried using all 3 of my controllers + I tried to fix it in other ways(nothing helps). Please fix this because its really annoying when your die to a brass contraption because you literally cant stop running in circles.

it can take anywhere from 2 seconds to multiple minutes to get free, but this bug is still in the game because Ghor investigated it thoroughly and could not find the cause because it doesn't make sense
some controller bugs are caused by vjoy or alternate imputs from non-neutral stuff

vjoy is a program that allows gamecube controllers and other obscure controllers to work properly on pc
i tried using one of those to make my ps4 controller look like an xbox controller because alot of games dont support ps4 controller support
what i mean with 'non-neutral imputs' is basically exactly what it sounds: whenever a controller is just sitting on your desk, it SHOULD NOT give any imputs because you arent using it, this is referred to as a 'neutral imput'
on RoR1 i need to use it but on RoR2 it usually dosnt work with it on
have you tried uninstalling said program and playing ror2?
you can just completely shut it off fairly easily but i can try to do that
vjoy has the same option but it still causes bugs, so im gonna ask you to uninstall completely and see if that works

Has anyone else ever experienced this? For some reason, I'm not getting ANY sound at all from the game. I can play music through youtube on the web browser just fine. I've tried modded, vanilla, verifying the integrity of the game files in Steam, re-installing the game, disabling the "spatial sound" and "Windows sonic for headphones", and restarting the computer.... NOTHING has worked! Anyone know how to fix this?
sound drivers generally fuck things up, best to delete it completely. download a Realtek audio driver instead

i found that when you put the camera behind a shrine it causes certain objects to disappear
i was able to phase out different objects and briefly caught an angle where items on captain would show
i was playing with a friend, as soon as we left the bazaar she got naturopath which makes 0 sense

In the Bazaar Between Time, activating the void portal after the main exit has already been pressed results in leaving to the next main level, with the void fields portal being deactivated despite never having traveled to the void fields. The next time we went to the Bazaar, the portal was not present.
Seems like the flag to remove the portal should be on actually traveling to the void fields as opposed to just pressing the portal.
When your character flashes blue for a frame, that’s when later effects are still considered even if they are not supposed to, collecting money after the flash is one example and selecting a null portal after the flash, even if you selected the blue one prior is another

travelling to the void fields deactivates it later on, so the game prolly says "activating portal = no more void feilds" since most people arent pressing the portal without actually going

Yes, and I'm suggesting that should be changed to deactivating it when you actually GO to void fields, instead of pressing the portal.
Because the simple scenario I ran into last night in MP with a friend, we agreed to go to void fields, but he forgot almost instantly (it happens, lol), and while I was traveling to the portal he hit the exit just before I hit the void portal, so we didn't get to go later as a result of the portal disappearing.
oh, yeah that makes sense, not really a bug tho. thats a rare situation since all the times tthats happened withme ive been going there when they hit the portal

The damage dealt by enemies' Nkuhana orbs (from scavengers or from evolution artifact) is bugged. It often instakills regardless of stats. I have tested this by having over 100,000 health and perma-jade along with dozens of bucklers active, reaching well over 90% damage mitigation, and still die instantly to the Nkuhana procs. This makes evolution artifact often unplayable because it is very difficult to build around, particularly for melee characters, and especially since it is a homing attack that cannot be dodged, only blocked by teddies. Please fix this bug, it has ruined countless runs for me when using my favorite artifact, evolution.
The same is also true for Helfire Tincture when activated by clones (from vengeance artifact) if they have both Helfire and Gesture. It seems to be that items which deal damage based on the attacker's max health are actually dealing a percentage of players' maximum health, and that percentage is so high that it is lethal every time. Please fix
Eviscerate procs on friendly entities in general (drones, turrets, players) making the move unusable at some point for mobility purposes because it just stops you at the friendly entity instead of dashing forward. Is this normal?

Does anyone else get major lag on PC if you're using artifact of command + sacrifice + swarm and you're several hours into a run? I'm on petrichor V and my computer has never lagged before even playing on high details on various AAA games.

difficulty doesnt matter im p sure, did you do the void fields after at least one loop+2 stages? because you have to do so on/after stage 7

when you have a backup mag on engi, if you use all your spider mines and then start aiming the thermal harpoons, the cooldown on the spider mines resets and goes back to 8s

i defeated the optional floating metal ball boss in this level, but it still shows me the red indicator pointing to where it last was before i defeated it

Brief: When turrets lose their target and default to their "social" behavior they continue firing for about half a second.
Full: When a turret either knocks an enemy out of it's range or kills it, with no other enemies in range it will default to a "social" behavior. While in social behavior it begins watching the player or another turret. The issue arises after the target is a non-wisp enemies as the turret will continue shooting for half a second. Interestingly, this behavior doesn't happen if the turret kills a wisp. It's also not a visual bug as the damage can kill you, and also counts against no-hit runs if Artifact of Chaos is on.
This behavior happens for gunner drones, stage turrets, and engineer turrets. I was unable to test the TC-280 drone as it seems to refuse to spawn now that I actually want it. Missile drones and incinerator drones seem to not do have this problem, but I can't say for certain.
I assume it cropped up post November 2020 in the most recent major version, as I'm currently watching a video from before Apr 12 and the behavior is not there. I am unable to test to be certain. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ka2_mTeSS90

Watch the tracking beam of the stone golem instead of watching me. It's much more transparent what is happening. Also I don't touch the fire. You also can see the camera jump back to the location of the laser.
the fire hitbox isnt exactly the same as the fire animation
it goes transparent because its supposed to do that right before firing (and i didnt notice anything with the camera)

I can't explain it any other way. I have no movement speed items, I don't use any abilities to disjoint, the golem loses my client position due to prismatic trials being hosted on a server and my connection to said server being bad. Which is why I don't want to carry this conversation on any further because you think you are correct, but it's not consistent with offline play.

the only thing i saw is "eh" fire animation that disappeared too quickly, and stone golems dont have perfect aimbot nor they should, and when you go too far out of their vision they stop tracking you. they also freeze for a couple of frames before shooting.

no when fire elites move around they leave a damaging fire trail that you stepped in, it looked like it disappeared but the hitbox for it still was there, the laser from the stone golem didnt have to do anything with you dying
I have 400 hours, half in single player half in multiplayer, with multiple top ten scores in prismatic trials. I can promise you the issues I experience in prismatic trial only happen in multiplayer.

Okay, so I just read the messages of the guy I blocked. What part is confusing you both? I'm just going to recreate the bug w/o the fire elite to have proof that it's not just fire trail. If two people both agree that I died to the fire trail, even though I don't, I'll just redo it w/o the trail. This is part of doing bug reports. If something is inconsistent then the tester needs to remove the variable that is creating doubt. It isn't a personal attack on either of you. So don't attack my knowledge of the game.

This peeked my interest, and this is correct. The information that is being parroted about Prismatic Trials is played on a hosted server is incorrect. The game only phones home to the prismatic trials under certain conditions, one of which is lethal data though I did see ROR2 phone home randomly during my trial runs. As I do not have much experience in writing C# I can't figure out what exactly causes ROR2 to phone home. I can confirm that it is not 100% of the time, and not even close to the frequency that it contacts a server when playing multiplayer. Without cracking open the binary I can't say if there is rollback damage or not.
With this new information I would like to agree that I probably did die to the fire tick. and not desync. I would like to say thank you to you for providing constructive conversation in narrowing down the bug. And, to be more precise I was incorrect in assuming it was desync and what is probably happening with both that example and the ice elite death sphere thing example is the hitboxes being larger than the visual.
I still do believe it feels worse in prsimatic trials. However, that could be due to the higher level of concentration and focus during them, or lethal damage has desync.
yea i was thinking its not hosted on a remote server, because when playing online even when i have rly low ping i still can blink/dash way out of a sphere and get frozen being defenetly outside of it, but that didn't happen to me in trails. also idk if ror2 has any AC because im running it on linux with proton_async enabled, which makes fps the same as on windows, but games with almost any anticheat insta-detect a "cheat" with that enabled

My assumption was that the game was recording a set of actions the player takes stored as files colloquially called "replays." Inspired by the TV Sports where they will display a 30 second clip of an event in game. I was assuming (and still do assume if the desync is real) that the client is sending a list of data "My position x, with a movement vector of y" to the server. It would then verify this was actually possible server side. The idea is to limit egregious cheats, like move speed hacks, cooldown hacks, etc.
The way that it would create desync with high packet loss using the blazing stone golem example is the server sees "Hey you told me you were moving at Y speed, but somehow you moved further than Y in the amount of ticks that passed, so you should actually be at this position. But wait, if you're in that position, you should actually be hit by the golem."
However, if that's true, the game would be talking to the server way more frequently then it is.

i mean the most thing like that it could do is record the whole game on a replay and then send it to a server, and if the server doesnt find anything abnormal in it, it counts the run in the leaderboard. if it would have been server sided it would have felt like shit tbh
Yeah, it's server side anti-cheat. VAC uses it pretty much exclusively, but admittedly isn't very strict. I believe what you describe is probably what actually happens. I just assumed it was live based on the telephone game. What I'm guessing happened is someone asked a dev "Is the prismatic trial hosted online" the dev said "The gameplay isn't but scoreboard is" and after a while it got telephoned into what people keep parroting as "The prismatic trials are hosted online." Essentially, it's my fault for not verifying what another user said.

@ember remnant check pins, im on phone. Also look for links about Microsoft visual c, this component is needed for game to run and it often goes corupted with changes to 2019 version of it. Game runs on 2015, both 64 and 86 must be present. It might cause alot of weird crap to the game, uninstall 2019 ones and install two from those links.
If you installed minecraft for example - its likely corupted.

Its not related to the game, its nor even relatee to the engine. Its an windows component. Game engine just uses it for dirrections and many more magic under the hood things. Microsoft fced up in 2019 version installer there and went - oh, we dunno seems fine.
But something there isnt fine and once in a while your game does weird things consistently, just because some random instruction that should result in 0 results in 1.
Wouldn't it be easier to update the game to use a different component then? Or addapt to the new one?
