Was playing multiplayer, no teleporter on the map and teammate disappeared, ended the session and he is still able to play. His primary and secondary weapons became unusable (huntress), and he could endlessly use his R attack.

Hey friends! I am consistently getting ~10 frames per second once I get into late game. Like, just before the loop going forward. I have all my settings as low as possible. I am the host for just myself and my partner.

I have 128 GB of Ram, an AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 3975WX 32-Cores 3.49 GHz, and an Nvidia RTX 3080.

Is there anything I can do to improve performance?

Hi guys, yesterday I was playing eclipse 1 with my friend when we got to phase 4 mithrix my game froze and i had to forcibly restart my laptop.

Now I am unable to play ror2 because it is so choppy, unresponsive and overall feels like i am trying to play a powerpoint presentation.

I have already updated my graphics drivers, reinstalled ror2 on steam and validated game files, what should I do?

It could be a multitude of things, running on a HDD vs an SSD

Not enough RAM (unity can be finicky sometimes and take up more than it needs to)

I've found ror2 to be very cpu intensive tho, so i'd say that's probably your issue

hi, idk if this is the right place to ask, and im sure its been asked before but about 50% of the games i play with my friend one of us almost always disconnects, where everything becomes uninteractable and I freeze on their end but the host can keep playing. We both have decent enough specs to warrant this not being a performance issue, what can I do to fix this? We both have LAN and we both are on steam

yo we've been playing the game for a couple of weeks perfectly fine but today when we tried multiplayer the person not hosting kept having infinite lag and 30 second delay on everything. We swapped games and both our wifis were very good at all other games but ror2 just kept lagging, anyone else ever have this and do u know how to fix it?

Probably just me with this problem. I like playing on controller and it worked fine when the SOTV initially released. However, sometime between then and now when I try to move it only goes left and right now forward and back. Also looking around just doesn’t work either. A bit of annoyance but I just customized the buttons through steam itself.

I have a big problem. I love risk of rain 2 and have almost 90hrs on it and when i was loading mods to use to join a lobby my ror2 crashed and did not even start. All it gave me was a unity error message pops up. I tried vanilla and launched it every way possible and it still did not work and gave me the same error window. At this point I've done everything but totally reset my user acc, uninstall steam (as it would be such a pain due to my library), and reset computer. I have uninstalled ror2 mod manager, replaced the config file, uninstalled and reinstalled the game like 20 times now, tried to reinstall with out steam cloud enabled, enabled and disabled dlc, have done a complete fresh reinstall of it, etc. I have been trying for hours and hours to research this problem in the past 2 weeks and have not found anything that helped. I am wondering if there is anything else I can do. Please help I wanna play fr fr.

I cant really share any pictures etc. but I've had an on-going problem with the multiplayer lobby playing with one specific friend. One of us always gets disconnected, and sometimes we dont even make it to the lobby. It's never been an issue before, we've both re-installed the game thrice, checked the integrety of the files etc. also searched the forums but no luck there either other than people have the same experience.

Two things that happened to me, trying to come back to RoR2 after a year:

  • Can't even access single-player unless I turn off Steam/Epic crossplay. Trying to select single player just dumped me back to the main menu before I turned that option off.
  • Closing the game no longer registers it as stopped inside of Steam. Steam "stop game" button doesn't work. Have to force-quit Steam and relaunch to get it to recognize that the game is not running.

Probably a known glitch, but with the H3AD-5T item, when hovering with arti, there is an odd bug that causes the item's particles to go crazy. This only happens if you hover without jumping first, either by walking off of a ledge, using ion surge, or becoming airborne some other way. I attached some footage. Sorry for the matpat in the background 😅

after exiting a multiplayer game the multiplayer scaling remains for the singleplayer games unless you restart the game

Hi, crossplay randomly caused ror2 to not start a run at all, (couldn't start a game on eclipse,classic etc.) clicking buttons that start a run just fades screen to black a for a second or two, and then kicks me back to the main menu.Verifying files does not help but turning crossplay off fixes the issue, also turning it back on later does not make the problem occur, so I don't think that player.log will help (unless it's not being overwritten when lanunching the game)
I'm on manjaro linux, proton 8.0 but I don't think its os dependent
I've recorded the bug, and I can send the video later if you want.

My game consistanly crashing my pc where it turnes off and on again no blue screen just strate into restart. happens every time on stage 1 after a fiew min. i have tryed updating graphic drivers, reistalling the game, verifying cash, closing every other app on pc and turning the grafics for ultra to the lowest they will go but still crashes every time. not sure what i can do.

https://streamable.com/plp5yt ok this needs to be fixed the monster called grub the big blob. it will brake the game if 5 spwan at a time so past stage 10 the game will go down to 1 fps and freez i can not play past any stage without the game going to 1fps and its only when the grub spawns i have a 3080 and a i9 9900k. i dont know if its becasue of the wisp in a bottle or the rockets making it count as more then one hit when you kill the grub. i know the stuff in this stage i have will just make the game lag anyway but i tried to clip it today past stage 15 on a naomal game with no crazy items but it just wont clip it becasue the game crashes

Just got a bug in my E3 Commando run. 4th stage, Abyssal Depths. Hit a mountain shrine, started a tp, but boss didn't show up, and I didn't get any rewards. It was just a normal wave spam. After tp was charged, I went to the next stage without any issues. Only got it once in 200 hours, that was weird

I transformed into Heretic and got stuck... It's worth noting I'm playing with an X-box whireless controller for windows, so when I select an item with artifact of command (which I was using). I can't use my abilities either, or move anyhow (like jumping). I spotted a post on reddit with the same issue, so it's not a one time thing. I couldn't find my /Hopoo folder under /LocalLow so I can't share my output file. PS: I just noticed, the time doesn't pass, it is stuck at 169:14, meaning the frames froze, but my character still moves the head around with the camera.

not really a major bug, but I have noticed that lately arti's nano spear secondary doesn't freeze enemies sometimes

I couldn't pinpoint the exact cause but sometimes it only does damage, but no freeze, usually when target is below 30% execute threshold after the spear damage it would just live instead of dying instantly

It's not low possibility. We've been using sacrifice / multiplayer / everything & visit there dozens of times. Somehow the game mistakenly believe you have the logbook (while you actually not) so it just refuse to spawn the scanner for you

playing on modded ror2 with another player, we keep hitting stage 3 with the scorched acres map and spawning nothing on stage. twice in a row, no items/shrines/teleporter spawned on stage. anyone else have this happen since the update?

ive been in a monsoon run for just over three hours and i decided to fight the voidling- near the end of the first phase i was attacking him and placed my sentry(engineer) and suddenly it disappeared, and the red circle boss indicator showed it was teleported FAR outside of bounds. now an endless horde of enemies is spawning, and im worried my run is lost. is there anything i can do?

Playing eclipse, leave gilded coast and spawn in garden, except when i spawn i spawn in the air and fall, teleport back on stage with no damage, there absolutely nothing on the stage besides enemies and newt altar (i will note i have mods but their mostly appearance things only)

every now and then a quantum tunnel from eccentric vase appears near me. Once when i used an equipment (no bottled chaos) and it wasn't even from an aangle I looked. It happened again just now when I defeated mithrix and teleported out of his arena, it was waiting there for me and disappeared quickly. unsure if I can interact with them and i'll try to snag a photo next time I see one

I have completed prismatic trials twice now. I figured it would show all of my completion times but I guess it’s just the best one? For some reason I still don’t have the harvester scythe unlocked? Anyone know how to solve?
Both times I have completed the trials my screen goes black. I can only see my cursor (game cursor) and I can still hear the world noises as well as if I shoot, I can hear it. I waited a while and nothing happen so I reset my game and my time shoes up but I don’t have the item unlocked?

Greetings! It's not a real bug probably, but I usually play the game on 720p, all ok but every time I close and boot up the game again, it reverts back to 1080p, and I don't know what's causing it! I can easily change the resolution back to 720p but doing it every time I play is a little bit tedious :/ If anyone knows what's the problem feel free to reach me! Thank you for the help!

it has been about 8 months since I last played RoR2 and at that time it ran great. the only thing I have changed since then is I have added a NAS for more storage but the game still resides on my PC itself

Should probably add I was running the latest game ready drivers from Nividia and just tried the latest Studio drivers also.

My system has a Ryzen 2700x, RTX 3090, and 64GB of RAM.

For no reason at all Sky Meadow ground textures can disappear and spawns can break entirely. No TP, enemies or chests. Vanilla SoTV, gamemode: Eclipse 1. Can't attach screenshots because of perms

ever since the newest update, a friend and I have been having major lag issues.
When I host a game, he lags. When he hosts a game, I lag. It takes probably well over a minute to switch survivors in the lobby and then once in the match whoever lags can't hit a single enemy. We haven't had this issue before so does anyone know what might fix this? Or can help?

my game crashes in about 70% of my runs. it used to be the game itself. after i fixed it, it went to blue screens, now that i (think) i've fixed it, i'm back to crashes. anyone got any ideas? windows 11 fully updated if that helps

at this point to me there's 3 thing that could possibly be your issue :

  • Windows 11 / Updates

  • Faulty Drivers (if your reinstalling drivers you should use DDU, it's a software to clean uninstall the drivers) and also not every drivers update are necessary unless there's something important on the changelog of it but i'm not a expert so maybe i'm not right

  • Something off about the hardware

"they are the same drivers, the difference is they are able to publish updates when they need to for software releases, since game drivers need updates with every big game release studio applications don't need as much. so when there are improvements to another soft ware they add it into the next studio driver release.

so rule of thumb is just get game drivers until studio drivers release something after a game driver release. other than that you wont see much of any differences."

I used to have this problem anytime I joined a lobby that screen would pop up for like a second and then kick me out of the lobby, what I did for my issue is I have an ROG motherboard and it comes with an application called GameFirst VI what I do is I go to task manager look for the application in Processes right click it and End Task that seemed to work for me, However if you have a different motherboard you could search if it has any performance boost application installed in your pc and maybe do that. I'm not sure why that was the issue but it worked after that. Hope this helps.

Hey all. I've never had issues with the game for years. Suddenly this week it crashes every time i start the game. Validated files, no fix. Force closed Steam in task manager, no fix. Restarted PC, no fix. Drivers up to date. The only fix seems to be a complete reinstall of the game but it's wildly annoying to have to uninstall and reinstall every time I want to play. Any fixes?

I was doing a run with my friend on Monsoon and his "Dissolving Ambush" ability on Acrid that allows him to teleport wasn't working on the final level. He accidentally shot it off the stage during the final level while looting and it stopped working until the fight with Providence started. Seeing that the ability was now active again and no longer stuck on "1" he clicked it only to be teleported outside of the boss room. He is now fighting the boss through the doorway hoping the doors will open if he beats him. He also looked for a Carra Marble to try and glitch through the door and attempted using his teleport ability to warp through the door, both were unsuccessful. Here are images showing how the fight is going

Update: PROVIDENCE CAME THROUGH TO HIM!!! He glitched through the door an they are now fighting by the ladders before the final boss room. His laser ability is taking up the entire stage going across horizontally so my friend is using the ladders to stay alive!

UPDATE UPDATE: He beat Providence as Acrid but now the doors wont open so he cant click on the center console in the boss room to secure the win.

We gave up trying to find a way in and he decided to kill Acrid by jumping from the top of the ladders ending the run

But i think you will need to delete your risk of rain 2 folder and verifiy the games files again, keep in mind this will not erase your save file, only your actual settings in the game (audio, commands and such) so if you wanna keep a data of it you can copy the file in Risk of Rain 2 folder -> Risk of Rain 2_Data -> Config and copy your config.cfg file on your desktop as a backup, you can replace it after

While I was digging though, I found the command in the config file "resolution 1920x1080x60;"

After Creating a Lobby in multiplayer, the guest of the lobby has a bugged gui. Several blue drop down menus appear at the right side of the screen, and do not allow either person to ready. If voting is turned on, only 1 person is visible on the bar. Both players tried to host and both guests experienced same issue. This is consistent after verifying integrity of game files and a fresh reinstall. Happens in base version of the game, no mods installed.

I've been 200 minutes on the run with Artifact_of_Command , obtained the incorruptible achievement, killed newt, choose the next level to be siren's call, launched my self into the void after buying 3 L_Focused_Convergence and at the same time interacted with the teleporter.

I have experienced a weird bug on the moon with Acrid: I do pillars, and take the vent up, and to speed things up, I face the arena, and do a caustic leap to get in. At that point I get stuck in the barrier. The first time it happened, it was in multiplayer, and it seemed to resolve after I used esc to pause, and the three other players entered the arena. That game was totally vanilla. The next time it happened, I was playing solo with mods propersave/retrybutton, and this time, I was totally stuck, and couldn't get anywhere, not away from, or into the arena. I could use propersave to load the game from the start of commencement, and get into the arena just by walking. Odd thing about these two runs is that I had unstable tesla coil, but I highly doubt that was the issue. I play on PC with Steam, and my game is up to date.

Trying to play multiplayer with a friend and 10-20 minutes into any run the one not hosting gets desync and can't interact with anything or deal any damage to enemies for at least one minute and it gets worse from there. We both have crossplay disabled, have tried with crossplay enabled, tried swapping host, have it allowed through firewall, tried verifying game files and reinstalling the game. We never have this issue when playing other peer-to-peer games.

On Steam, right click the game and go to Manage -> Browse local files
Take note of the path.
In r2modman, select a profile and go to Settings -> Locations -> Change <game> directory.
Ensure these directories match. You won't see any files because it's a folder selection dialog. As long as it's the same path as the one in Steam, this is fine.
If these already match, continue to the next section, otherwise try starting modded through the manager.

    'memtest' (If memtest doesn't work, use winkey+R, then 'mdsched.exe' without '')

  • Verify your games files on steam after that too

has anyone else experienced frequent crashes/freezes on linux? On proton exp it freezes at startup but on 8.0.5 it only does after a few minutes. Ok so there is a bug thats been bugging me for quite a while [ Hillarious 🤡 ]
Anyways people have reported it but i cant seem to find any answer how to fix it.
I've tried reinstalling and verifying game files but that doesn't work.
The bug is that player names show up as " " and in the tab meny it just shows the character they are playing's name.
It really annoying playing with multiple people and see:ing in chat : " " Picked up 57 leaf clover, etc

so I been having a problem recently where for some reason, modded or not, around stage 4 my game starts to lag awfully to the point it being a powerpoint presentation. It's not immediate either, though from what I could gather, it mostly starts after I kill a few enemies on stage 4. and if the lag doesn't starts there, it just... never shows up and words alone cannot express my confusion.

so uh I was playing RoR2 multiplayer with my friend on steam, and i accidentally backed out as he was starting the match (he was host). I rejoined through steam by hitting join game on his profile and it skipped the character selection and spawned me as a Larva. I had no abilities except the jump attack. I'm assuming it happened because the game had no idea what to character to put me as but I'm not a game dev so i have literally no idea.

For some reason if you unlock something for a character you can't remove the highlight with a controller which also means that whenever you unlock a new ability/skin for a character on Xbox you cannot physically remove the highlight,

the only way remove the highlight from unlocking something is to select it with a mouse.

Loaders "Thunderslam" is incredibly loud, it is in vanilla and modded, me and my friends can all hear how loud it is.
And no it was not a audio issue on any of our parts, we have no idea what is going on.

My friend and I are trying to play together but when we load into a game and he shoots as commando every bullet causes a large purple explosion and shakes my screen. When I played commando the same thing happened in reverse to him.
We switched characters and more random things happened (I played Acrid, he played the sniper) Random ice explosions showed up on my screen and his, and there was green rays everywhere.

We turned off all modifiers and turned off the "Survivors of the Void" DLC and same thing happens.

Im in the sacrifice artifact and when maxing out a forest shrine (I think thats what it is called) The drones no longer move, none of them move with enemies on screen or if I go across the island, they just stand still healing. Only the turrets attack still the gunner turrets don't work, just turn.

I've encounter an other bug when playing the Artificer where after falling, the character respawned above the fall point and fall again in loop, well i didn't lose any hp but it make a strange effect like in portal when you put one portal above and one beyond you. Thunderslam for Loader seems to be broken sound-wise in multiplayer lobbies. My friends who were with me in the lobby would get their eardrums blasted out of oblivion whenever I used it. Turning down SFX would turn down all SFX aside from the thunderslam.

i just experienced a rapid falling bug on aphelian sanctuary. had to close the game due to rapid teleporting back up which seemed to only be accelerating- will try and find screenshots of the area i triggered the bug to describe what happened
