That value does the Simulacrum mode. The other value it can be is ClassicRun with is the "normal" mode.

Do you know of a setting value needed to enable mods? Or does it just know they are in the folder and loads them?

before the update with the dlc came out the game worked stably

after dlc update when choosing railgunner/pressing settings button in the main menu/shortly after landing(surely this is not all ways.) the game freezes or becomes a black screen and the game does not turn off by itself

@jovial inlet I have some treasure for you. I was just playing around with commands and trying to get more details. If you go in game and do Ctrl + Alt + ` and then type help it gives you every setting! Doesn't tell you options for each one that you can use, but it does for many.

Not sure if you know, 1060 is plenty enough for 720p ultra settings 75fps+ till second loop. And even then fps dips aren't related to gfx, but rather cpu/ram.
It's way better than mine r9 270x 4gb

Back in a day random crashes were solved for some ppl who updated the driver.
Get an instruction for your specific cpu/motherboard for how-to
Based on the fact you reinstalled the os it's likely a hardware issue. Bios is the only software that I can think of.

Well.
When I play at a completely random moment, the game may crash on the desktop.
The creation of error logs is very unlikely, I have crashed 30+ times, but I have only 2 log files.
After departure, the game does not respond. When i click on the shortcut in the taskbar, nothing will happen. Also, when departing, the sound remains.

Hey guys, I can't see any Servers in the server list (playing from Steam)
EpicGames is linked and cross-play is enabled but I can't see any servers at all, despite a good 7.000+ people being in-game according to Steam Charts

Hello, i'm having an issue with beginning a game, i downloaded it from epic games, since a friend wanted to play there and i dont really use steam that often so decided to give it a shot, i played normally and really enjoyed the game, but the problem came after when i tried to start another run it now does not allow me to do so, when i click on the singleplayer to start, the screen fades to black as per usual but does not take me to the character selection screen and instead leaves me on the main screen and i cant start any game neither on alternative modes nor multiplayer, i have searched and seen that its a crossplay problem, however thats on steam only and havent found a solution for epic, the only solution is uninstalling and reinstalling but even then i can only play continually without closing the game otherwise it wont let me play anymore

@orchid flame check the amount of data in game folder after you reinstall but before launching. Compare to amount of data after you exit. Chances are some game files are missing or corrupted.
Sometimes this happens because anti-virus took some actions. Files might be in carantine.

I know little to nothing about epic version. But steam version keep the save profile away from game data.
Ask about what your options are in epic support.
Try to install the game to other drive.

Multi-player where you were the host - no
Multi-player where you were the client and were out not too long you would respond if you were alive before disconnect.
There is no saves in a run. But there is a mod that let's you pick the game up from start of the last stage you were on.

Host is the knot that tie clients together. You can rejoin to host, but if he leaves no one can.

like i can still hear the music playing

Hi all, trying to setup an 5+ player dedicated server here. I tried with mod "TooManyFriends" and without (using console to change sv_maxplayers and steam_lobby_max_members values), neither of them works.

When the 5th player pressed connect, nothing happened in their client.

None of us enabled crossplay in game settings, all Steam version here.

When checking in dedicated server cli, sv_maxplayers and steam_lobby_max_members had corrent values (16).

BTW, we tried the same method before 1.2.4, worked fine.

So I picked up Survivors of the Void yesterday on Thursday and played it for the first time today yesterday. I'd love to say how it's been going, except while I have the DLC installed, the game runs very unstable -- rainbow-colored dots are flashing everywhere, and the game (or my entire computer) can crash very easily. I tried toggling the DLC off in Steam's settings, and it ran fine; toggled it back on, and the dots start flashing again.
My GUP is an Nvidia Geforce RTX3070 if it helps.

Hey, I have a weird issue I've not been able to find a solution to:

Whenever I'm playing multiplayer the game would freeze randomly for up to a minute, or the portal is activated. Sometimes I'd drop out of the lobby completely and would have to restart the game. Needless to say this is making multiplayer unplayable, and co-op is the only mode I play...

I've tried disabling cross-play, re-installing the game, verifying files through steam, disabling steam overlay with no success.

My system is as follows:
Windows 10 latest update, Version 10.0.19044 Build 19044, all chipset, BIOS, GPU versions are latest as well.
Mobo: ASUS B550TUF Gaming Plus
CPU: Ryzen 5900X
RAM: 4x8GB 3600mhz CL16 G-Skill Trident
GPU: EVGA 3080ti FTW3
SSD where the game is installed: Corsair MP510 960GB

Everything is running on stock; out the box configuration, apart from DOCP enabled in BIOS.

Used to happen on stage 5 only, but now it doesn't seem to matter which stage we're on, as last night the game froze and 5 minutes later I got kicked out of the lobby while we were fighting Mithrix.

thing is, this used to be in the settings but was likely removed on accident. you can fix this by going into the config.cfg of the game (found in Risk of Rain 2\Risk of Rain2_Data\Config) and open it in notepad, look for the soft particles line, change the 0 to a 1 and save the file. make sure the game and steam are turned off while doing this to prevent accidents

Game is very intense with all those effects, projectiles, enemy and calculations needed to move all of those.
It takes alot of cpu/ram power to run good.
VM just doesn't have that level of performance to run the game good. It should run. But don't expect much.

freezes, I get the "Program is not responding close/wait" prompt, if I wait sometimes it goes back to normal, but eventually it doesn't, and I'm forced to restart the game. Happens in multiplayer only (crossplay is disabled). Happens randomly while exploring the map or during portal events during boss fights or right after (before the portal is charged). It's really weird. Sometimes, when it resumes back to normal, the game "catches up" and I gradually die from damage dealt while I was "frozen".

Ok @steady topaz I have uninstalled the old msvc 2015 x64 and x86 and reinstalled them from the link you provided. I checked the installation folder in the C drive and did not see any new folders, only the default ones.
I only forced one launch option which was to -force-d3d9 as I assumed it would fix the issue, but that had no avail with or without. I verified integrity of the game files, and there were no failures, all files successfully validated.
I also do not have a folder designated for game crashes which seemed rather odd to me, as other people stated that they do have a such a folder, so in turn I am also unable to get the error.log to provide over here.
Crossplay is also toggled off.
I am unsure of what to do at this point

This all happened after the update that introduced the void DLC btw, before I could run the game with ease, no issues.

@modest vine please once again uninstall the game. Wipe out the game files folder manually from your c drive and install it back again into the same folder on your c drive.
Game looks for files and it may confuse old data, loading it along with new.
It happened before with players who had multiple steam library folders.
If you had other versions installed elsewhere before updating there is a chance leftover files are present.
Also note that error on the screens hot you provided related to data access it both can be related to leftover files and hardware/drivers.
Game should run practically on any gpu, but needs cpu/ram to be in good condition. Check other unity engine based games if you have any. There is a chance something broke outside of the game. Including hardware.
Check for cpu overheat. Ram errors.

Updating instead of freshly installing might be the cause.
Game pushes cpu and ram quite hard and that load might provoke os to misshandle cpu usage.

Well something clearly happened. If logs don't have it we can only guess with 0 accuracy.
Check your logs closer, usually there atleast kernel power error. Check the entrys that happened before. Google for the error codes.

By lan cable you mean all friends connected by it. Like in one room? Or it's just to mention no 5g hotspot involved? Well i assume the second. But it does matter if your one friend who cannot connect is using 5g as those are limited in p2p connection.
You need to learn about ports. For example here. https://www.purevpn.com/port-forwarding/playstation-4
Likely the data gets blocked or lost on your friend's side. Configure his router to allow for data to pass on those ports.
Sometimes ISP also block that unless a paid option is active. If you absolutely sure everything set correctly you may want to get him speak to isp techsupport.

k it seems the bug starts the moment he levels up for the first time

i have an issue where my game will just crash when im in a multiplayer lobby. it keeps doing this until i reinstall ror2. after i reinstall, i can play one game before it starts happening again. any idea why?

and it only happens in the waiting room where you select characters. not actually in-game

@full heath if you have any scripts that simulate key strokes or other user input then use different simulation method and add delays with separate key conditions instead (press down, delay, press up, delay)
Note that other HID plugged in may send shift input. Try disconnecting anything but mouse/keyboard.

So, the game fired up as it should, but failed to retrieve steam token correctly and shut down. Restarting steam client should fix that

d3d11 is basically the game saying 'well this sure aint right. go fix it lol'

@mossy elbow it mostly comes down to some weird combination of gpu cpu and ram misbehaviour. May be tied to some software, drivers. So yeah, pretty much whole computer.
Id suggest to try to install bootable os on a stick drive and install only bare minimum drivers, steam and the game on that drive only. If it runs fine from there then something is wrongnwith your main os software.
Thats kinda alot for average player so we do not have enough feedback to conclude anything and help with pin pointed solution.
