Having problems running the game on my lappy (has an Nvidia 980M). Updated drivers, messed with high DPI settings, uninstalled/reinstalled, and messed around with DirectX launch settings. If I run with DX12, it is very unstable and will freeze in the middle of gameplay before crashing. If run with DX10, I get the magenta water. It is noticeably more stable in DX10, but still crashes after maybe 1-2 hours of play. I just wanna unlock the dang Artifact of Control already Latest crash log is attached. We'll have him send a speedtest, if his internet is really that bad then all we can do is tell him to upgrade his internet. But if he has good enough speeds it may be a problem with anything from his router to PC to Ethernet cable

Hi there guys! Just got a small problem that me and another have been running into while playing this game. We've been having crashing issues when we play with each other. Sometimes it happens in stage 3 sometimes stage 9. But one of us disconnects first and then the game lags out. Is this just a connection issue or something to do with the mods we have installed? only the typical gpu update, and after the gpu update the game was working fine

I'm a streamer and for some reason my stream lags HARD when I play this game. It's only Risk of Rain 2 that does this. I'm losing my mind trying everything I can just to complete a run without it looking like a PowerPoint slide show. I don't even loop so it's not like the game should be too overworked loading in and dealing with enemies. Once I hit like stage 4 it gets bad, and by stage 5 it's unplayable. Please, if there's anyone who can help me fix this I would greatly appreciate it, I just want to get back to streaming my favorite game again.

It lags while I'm playing and streaming and playing at the same time, so in that case I'm assuming I'm frame lagging. And I can guarantee you it's not a computer issue, I have a very good one.

Freezing at...Seemingly random spots honestly. It does seem to happen when there are at least a few enemies on screen, but I swear I've hit three Shrines of the Mountain on the same stage before and my GPU and RAM handled it like a champ

Yes indeedy! Windowed actually made it hella unstable believe it or not. Crossplay has also been disabled for the duration of my ownership of the game (I bought it on Steam with SotV)

you have to either - system restore your pc to a point where it got updated
or you have to factory reset your entire windows setting

Trying to use Canyouseeme.org to make sure my ports are good for a dedicated PC Server, Unmodded. My config is as
sv_port 7777;
steam_server_query_port 27015;
steam_server_steam_port 27016;
All 3 ports should be mapped on my gateway, but having no luck with being able to ping it via canyouseeme using either of em. Connecting via ipv4 takes me to that black screened lobby and outside connections cant see it.
Router is set to forward to the correct device and all as well.

Ive been trying to get a dedicated server to allow more than 4 players for a bit now. I have
sv_maxplayers 16;
steam_lobby_max_members 16;
In my server.cfg. In the server browser it says it allows 16 people, but when a 5th tries to join the console comes up with a Not Enough Resources error. What am I doing wrong?
I've also tried the Too Many Friends mod and the Not Enough Friends mod as of May 16th and they work for when hosting a non-dedicated server only.

We went through all the pin's recommendations (reinstall MS C++ 2015, both versions, port forward, etc)
This is a new install for a new person who has never played before, and we are unable to get them into a multiplayer lobby.

Note that if your friend uses 5g connection Hotspot there are ipv4 nat data loss on provider side. If so he better use his mobile phone as a Hotspot for his router in wi-fi client mode to share internet from it with wired connection to PC.

Alot of ppl said that. Yet it wasn't true.
If you ever used off brand or older consoles gamepads chances are you still have it.
Check in your device manager or better yet open up dxdiag, save info to a text file, open it and search for vjoy.
Even drovers from that program cause issues, doesn't matter if the program is gone.
You need to install and uninstall it again to get rid of those.

But given that you're right about vjoy you still might have some clue what HID pose itself as controller for the game to confise itself. Just read the text for input devices.

Note that mapping data is stored on your savefile. You need to make a backup now. Then it's safe to try fresh profile and removing your current one to check if game still picking up controller input from something.

My friend and I are trying to play together and it worked fine for a while, but a couple weeks ago he started getting disconnected every game. He'd be able to walk around but the rest would be frozen, if he tries to restart he just gets a black screen. We can still talk and everything, he just can't play anymore. Try turning offline mode on.
Im not sure epic have the option tho.
Basically this happens to steam when steam forgor to update user token on your side, but did on theyr and comparioson shows missmatch. It's cured by restarting steam client. I don't know about epic.

Im not sure where it originates from, not expirienced in egs abomination.
But game should load profile around where it gets stuck on your side and it fails many-many times.
Not sure why that happens. But go for pinned messages and try to disable crossplay.
There is also were registry edit entry from devs to do that the "hard way"
For now save your profile somewhere else and try disabling crossplay.

You might need an actual dev to zort this out. I never dealt with that. If you happen to fix it or just new info for us please share it. Don't forget to @me

So I've found out only NAT 3 players can play with other NAT 3 players. NAT 1 and 2 can play together
Most people are NAT 2
You can try inviting from both the multiplayer screen and the private lobby screen
On PlayStation you can join session through a players profile, this is what I have to do to play with a certain friend, he cant join any other way

In the live version, there is currently a bug with EOS auth. Not sure if that's your issue, but it might be fixed in the next patch. In the meantime, disabling cross-play should get around the issue. It's also possible that the link between your Steam and EGS accounts is somehow in a weird state, but obviously that's something that Epic manages, so I can't help you there.

Starting up Ror2 on steam and the startup times is extremely long. Im on NVME SSD but it takes like 5-7 mins to load

Heya. I'm having an issue with playing multiplayer at the moment. I have the game on steam and the multiplayer has worked fine up until now. I just got the popup to enable crossplay and accepted it, I linked it through the browser and got it set up. My friend got the popup however did not get directed to the link page (he also owns it on steam). When we make a lobby he can join but once we move the the character screen he just black screens to the main menu. Is there any way to fix this? Cheers

so i wantet to get back into the game since i got the dlc, but I have the but that neither me nor the enemies deal dmg. Projectiels bounce off me and enemies freez random. I already deletet the config file sice i modded the game a few years back, also did a fresh install. So what do I do now?

The EGS DLC not working issue has just been fixed. I just updated the game to version 0.96 from version 0.93, and verified that the DLC is up and working

Also The game feels like it Lags Hard in Multiplayer with Plasma Shrimp & Molten Perforator...I have had the game Hard Crash on Monsoon at Wave 191 Simulacrum my friend D'cd try to rejoin and his character was in but he couldn't move or use any abilities.

it happens modded or not. so no.? it loads then gives 1 line of text saying that and then closes

in uninstalled the game already and steam and verified the files. i can load other games and play just fine it's just this game so i don't think it's steam. i've deleted the ror2 folder too.

i don't know how to change anything about the boostrapper whatever

I had this issue and found the cause to be cross-play.

I was using a dedicated server on Windows and Linux (WINE) and couldn't connect to either. I disabled cross-platform in my client and all is well again. Just thought I'd mention since I had no idea what was going on outside of there being an update today and I hadn't played in a while.

im pretty sure ror2 doesnt have an anti-cheat program as its not a competitive game. my guess is that that is meant to verify if you actually own the game
