Buddy bought me the game on Steam a few weeks ago, and have been loving it. Although, I've been suffering with random Unity error crash to desktop, which makes playing extremely frustrating, especially since there's no autosave or backups.
Sometimes I can play for an hour or two without a crash, other times 10 minutes. Seems to be worse in multiplayer.

I've done all the usual stuff.
-Adjust settings
-Drivers updated
-Check file integrity
-Reboot Steam
-Reboot PC
-Underclock GPU
-Run as admin
-Reinstall
-And more I cant remember.

I've spent hours searching for any solution or idea as to what to try with no luck. Does anyone have any ideas? I want to keep playing, but randomly losing all progress in a run is making playing pointless.

Hi ! I just Bought RoR2 on steam (without the DLC) but the game won't launch, it's just going blackscreen and that's all.

This is a bug. It would be helpful for me to know:
•Is this only happening in multiplayer?
•Are you hosting, or is another player hosting?

While we're working on the fix, you can either link your Epic account to your Steam account and change your name that way, or you can disable crossplay and it will just use your Steam account name.

Are there any people having a steam cloud error (unable to sync) with RoR2? Been trying to fix it (validating flies, restarting both steam and pc, reinstalling). Other games that needs to sync with steam cloud are not having problems, only RoR2.

Okay, so I've gone through the list and done most those steps, 1 or 2 at a time. It's really hard to test since the crash is completely random.
The final things I did before I was able to play for like 3 hours without a crash was that I bumped the DDR4 voltage in BIOS by 50mV, and turned off Windows Page File. (I know page file is important even if you have plenty of RAM)
So... one of those seems to have solved it. I'll need to test multiplayer, since that was much less stable.
Then I'll try reenabling page file to see if the issue comes back, but for now, it's all working! 🙂

For some reason when i go into multiplayer games that im not the host of and lock in either railgunner or void fiend i always end up as commando even though I am 100% sure i did lock in void fiend or railgunner. Have you enabled a framerate limit? If unlimited, your PC and GPU will just crank out fames as fast as possible. If your monitor can only display 60Hz, there's not much reason to allow it to render more than 60FPS.
Although, having your GPU running at high utilization is generally a good thing in games.

  So i can get to around round 45 to 55 in simulacrum then my game will seem to crash every time a round is ending and is about to start another. Not sure what to do as i have already did a fresh install of the game and added only 1 mod which involves having tool tips for command.

A 1650 is only a 4gb card and the games min req is a 4gb card with similar speeds.
Without vsync on your card should be at 80-100% because it's pushing for the most frames.
What cpu are you using? And power supply?

If not, check your save file and see if it created a new one, which means the previous one was corrupted, if that's the case I think the only option is to restart, and you could try your old save file when a new patch is released

Hi, I have a very strange bug which I cannot find anywhere on the internet.

Upon trying to join a multiplayer game, I get a black screen and the only way to get rid of it is for the other person to stop the multiplayer game (or alt f4). When I start up RoR2 on Steam, it says i'm connected to the Epic Games thing. And then when I want to go play multi player and invite my friends it pops up the Epic Games friends menu.

hey i'm having a bit of a unique issue. after having no major issues for my 120 hours of playtime, after beating the game on monsoon i was met with a black screen instead of a cutscene. after waiting the only thing i could do was close the game so i did. the game did not count the win (no purity or color unlock) however, after relaunching the game i have found that the logbook only shows the background and outline of the menu without any icons or entries. at first glance the game seems to run normally although i would assume if i beat the game i would be met with the same black screen. the weirdest detail is that now my lunar token count has been set to precisely 149,486. i have tried to uninstall the game and verify game files via steam.

Hey I've been having this same issue recently, whereas my startup time takes over 45 minutes just to get to the main menu, and once it does the game itself runs perfectly fine, even with high graphics settings. What I find odd is that I never encountered this problem before the DLC was added, including all the way back in early access. My computer has at least 16GB of RAM and all other games start up perfectly fine, and besides Steam I have no other programs other than Discord running while it starts up, to which it still takes just as long. Hi, I'm having a issue with multiplayer. One of my friend(A) keep getting back to the main menu after the lobby creation, she gets a black screen and then is forced to the menu. If she creates the lobby, im the one who gets the black screen and the menu after. We tried everything: from a simple reinstallation, to the solutions on pin4/pin6.
We also tried with another friend(B). I can select my character and play, but A cant, and gets back to the menu. And ,if A creates the lobby, me and B are the one who gets the issue.

Anyone experiencing multiplayer lag? Tried playing with two other friends twice. First time one of my friends hosted the game and the ping when from decent, to straight up terrible, nothing would move for 5-10 seconds then all of a sudden I’d be dead. Second time, I tried hosting, both my friends were lagging, and I couldn’t even leave my pod at the beginning of the game no matter what.

Now, I don’t have great internet, but I don’t have bad internet at all either, and I use an Ethernet cable. I play multiple other games that have multiplayer/coop as well. Elden Ring, Monster Hunter: World, Warzone, never experienced anything negative in terms of latency.

So, anyone know a fix or is the multiplayer just that bad?

@west tapir game is p2p. Not sure about some games you listed there, but warzone definitely server based.
For needs clear connection from host to all clients. If there is data loss somewhere on the connection chain there will be rubber banding you described.
Get your friend's ip from http://wwe.myip.com (external one)
And run a tracing routine to see all chain links and how long it takes to pass them. Use cmd.exe for that and type in (tracert xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx) command where x is your host's ip.
If final ping above 100ms you will see some small lag with projectiles. Something above 300ms is generally unplayable. Run (ping) command from the game console (ctrl+alt+') a couple of times. Rtt=xxx is your ping to host.
Note that even if you connected thru cable there still may be some load on other channels. Like iptv and wi-fi uploads. Game takes next to nothing compared to other type of internet usage, but needs the router to be responsive. Check if it have enough cooling. One guy got it covered and overheating.

Would anyone know why sometimes when I get to the moon my framerate drops to like 1fps when I look towards the center for some reason? It's completely random, it doesn't matter what I have going on in the background or my graphics settings or how long the run has been, and if I look at the sky or away from the center it's just fine. My friend and I are trying to play multiplayer through Steam, and his game works perfectly until he joins my lobby. Whenever one of us joins the other's lobby, the character select doesn't work. A glitched version of the lobby menus shows up and the background is all black and that's it. can't choose characters as they aren't even existent, can't do anything. after about ten seconds, it boots the joiner back to menu. I'm using pterodactyl running on an ubuntu 20.04 server. Upon starting the ROR2DS server with ports 30100 server port and 27016,27017 for steam I'm getting a Warning: wrong connectionId in received user packet error in the terminal. Hey guys! Later this morning I bought the new DLC after couple of hours and then my game started to run very slow, not load at all, taking up to 5-10 min to load, blackscreen, having perfomance issues. Then I found an old post on reddit of people having similar problems on other games even on Risk of Rain 2. The fix that worked for me was opening CMD as administrator and doing this command " bcdedit /deletevalue useplatformclock " without the ( "" "" ) I hope you may benefit from this if you got stuck in the same problem!

hi everyone. ive got a quick issue to raise. i usually play ror2 with some minor mods, but last week my game stopped working. i joined the modding discord to see if anyone could help me, and with some trial and error they narrowed down that the issue is not with any of my mods. basically, when i launch the game, through steam (vanilla) or a modded version, the game launches in a minimized version that I cannot use. i can send a picture if that would help, as it is kind of hard to explain, but the game is unplayable right now for me. I tried un-installing and re-installing, i tried deleting all the files and re installing them, even using the steam "verify files" thing. none of that helped. if anyone has any idea of what to do, your help would be greatly appreciated!

Heyo, I've been having some issues launching my game. I had been playing a few hours before this happened and I was wondering if someone could guide me towards fixing it.

Above 80c long term is unhealthy for CPUs and GPUs, fine for most memory. Above 91c is usually the thermal throttling point for most GPUs, CPUs will sometimes go to 100c before throttling hard.
Worth noting that despite high temps being unhealthy, it's still likely to last about the entire lifespan of the product. Intel/Nvidia/AMD all set the maximum temp well below the theoretical operating temp for the device for the sake of lower dead units and longer reliable operation.
Defo get some better cooling tho. :p

Ye 3080s can run like 80+ no problem, so definitely would check out and see why your cpu is over heating. Maybe too much thermal paste, not enough airflow to it, or just dusty

I know nothing about water cooling but I know at your cpu peaks the water was actually at boiling temp, so I'd look into if that has any effects on it.
On a side note, normal fan cooling is enough for 95% of builds

Do I have to advance in the game to get the railgunner and other unlock ?

printAllCarsInfo is a function in the main program.
I'm not quite sure what to change to make this work, can anyone help me?
