For those experiencing bad FPS performance/stutters/frame drops since the DLC, this info might be useful: I was really confused after installing the DLC and having my game performance go from very smooth to awful, with constant stutters early in a run with no enemies around, and then eventual slideshow mode/fps death by around stage 4-5. As it turns out, after the DLC my GPU was running hot, and resulting in it throttling itself at around 80 C, dropping the speed to 300 MHz and thus losing a lot of frames. Now why the GPU is running so much hotter 5 minutes into a DLC run when it did not 2 hours into a base-game run, I have no idea. In any case, I did some power management/fan tweaks, and disabled intel turbo-boost (on a laptop so the CPU heat will affect the GPU temp). This has pretty much cleared up my FPS issues. The base 2.2 GHz CPU speed without turbo-boost seems fine to run ROR (in single player at least, and I haven't done a mega hours long run after disabling yet). Hope this helps anyone else who has been having this issue.

My profile has corrupted and any attempts to fix this corruption by creating a new one and renaming the old one to the new one, deleting the new one and keepting the old one there corrupts all of them.

Whenever I try to run Risk of Rain 2, it starts with a plain black screen and my cursor doing the spinny blue loading thing (yes im dumb), after a bit it does the ""Risk of Rain 2.exe" is not responding" thing and so far nothing else has happened to the window. I've tried a few different combinations of start it, keep it in background, check back in on it, and close, and it still isn't working.

At the moment, that tends to mean that something in the steam distributable is causing major issues with the launch, We don't know what causes that except... well steam executables, so at the moment that means he has to open it the alternate way till they patch it.
I recommend googling the issue if he had it PRIOR to the dlc update (not buying the dlc, but the dlc update itself)

The reason that causes issues is that we're trying to launch mods through R2Modamn but because it launches it through steam then it causes issues

Assume its xbox.
You need to open your router web interface, see the ip address on its back plate or sticker, login is typically admin and the password may wary, check google for its model name if there is no password provided right there.
On the interface you need to find settings for throwing/opening ports.
Ports that game needs:
TCP: 3074
UDP: 88, 500, 3074, 3544, 4500
Google for instruction on how to open ports for your specific router model.
If you have no router inhome, and just a wire that you plug in a pc lan port - you may need to contact your ISP for instructions. Likely there is paid option to get static ip, it helps in situations where ISP unable to provide decent service and allow data forwarding in all their dynamic connections to their clients.
Try also using UPNP, most routers have that option.

So, I'm having a bit of an issue with crashing. Currently running on a 3080 with an AMD 3700x and 64 gigs of ram. I've crashed out of my past 2 out of 5 runs very early on and then once upon death. Issue has persisted over past few years and through upgrading from a 2070 to the 3080. I've done full re-installs of the game and verified integrity through steam and nothing seems to help. I swapped to playing on the switch for a long while because of the issues thinking it was the old GPU was the problem but there's no way the issues persisting are at fault in the system after i've swapped everything on this build since then, let alone on a 3080. Any help would be appreciated, I really do enjoy this game but I'm over ripping my hair out trying to troubleshoot why I'm crashing on every other run

The reason is broken multi monitor support. I started the game, dragged it from the main screen to my gaming screen and played. However, I have to deactivate multi monitor support to launch it after that run again. When it's running, then I can re-enable the 2nd monitor. This is awful (but hey, it's Unity, so it must be).

hello, I would like to talk about something that I noticed with a problem of mine and also of other people

i bought the dlc when it launched and since then i've been having a problem which i realized i wasn't the only one with the problem so i've been looking for a solution and well... i haven't found it

however I found something in common, the game opens, the menu opens, but when I leave the menu the game freezes and goes to the desktop

when I was looking for solutions I found people with the same problem on reddit, I created a discussion where we realized that we all have AMD Radeon graphics cards, being mine and someone else's being older graphics card

i searched further and i think it could be a problem with unity or the devs didnt test it on an amd radeon graphics card but i could be totally wrong

if anyone can get in touch with some of the devs and let them know I would be very grateful, because like me, other people can't play the game because of this specific problem with a similarity of the graphics card, so please if anyone can talk to one of the devs I would be very grateful indeed, either to warn of the problem or just to know if this is being fixed

Another suggestion for @shy pasture, try looking at the settings in Nvidia geforce app, and set a framerate limit temporarily. Some people's games were crashing because they were getting 2k FPS in the startup screen (or something)

Has anyone else had issues joining multiplayer lobbies since the update? When I try to join, 90% of the time it sends me to a weird blank multiplayer lobby for a few seconds and then back to the main menu and on the rare occasion it lets me in, it'll boot me to the main menu as soon as the game starts.

hey so i played with mods before the patch and used characters that needed to be unlocked like chef and the like. so i used the unlock everything mod and now post patch all my monster logs and environment logs are gone. (i 100%'d the game before the patch). im not really asking how i can fix this im more giving context to the actual issue at hand.

Im trying to get the log for the bulwark ambry (sorry for misspelling if i did) and each time i get the log i dont actually unlock it in the logbook. any help?

It'll eventually get fixed one way or another so why refund it? Also, it's the PC you are using most likely because I could play on the same account on a different PC. If you wait till then fix it, or you get a new PC somehow you'll be able to play it. Yeah you can't play the game but why would you remove the DLC from your account? It's not like the DLC is causing the issues.

No, it's the version of unity built into the game. The problem is that the output_log from older versions of the game don't get deleted, so anyone who played the game before the update will still have an old output_log file.

Hello, I have this fps issue where I'm playing with 40-60fps even at the start of a match for some reason, this only started after I changed laptops, my previous laptop was a 1050 and i7, and my current one is a 3070 and 5900HS, but for some reason the game ran better on the worse laptop? I hope I’m in the right place. I buy RoR2 for every platform I’m on because I love this game. I play mainly on pc but I got a controller with tilt aiming because I liked gyro aiming so much when I played on the switch. This is because there was no computer bounce before running Rain 2.
However, by coincidence, the power supply broke down.

Hey guys. I'm having an issue with deleting profiles. When I select a profile I wish to delete the conformation box appears and when I select yes the profile remains and nothing happens. I've tried going to "Steam\userdata[Number]\632360\remote\UserProfiles" to manually delete the profiles but when I launch the game they are still there and appear as "corrupted profile" and still cannot be deleted.

It looks like profile data is also stored in remotecache.vdf but trying to remove profiles using a text editor doesn't work since it just restores them upon launching the game even if Cloud Sync is off.

Whenever I hit the delete key on a profile the prompt to delete the profile comes up but when I click the option to delete it, the profile simply just stays. Have tried to delete the files using the userdata folder, although that doesn't seem to work either. Have also tried deleting files through that folder with cloud turned off. When I attempt to launch the game, it immediately crashes before there is a loading screen. This was fixed by the pinned message workaround - when I unplugged my extra monitor, then lauched the game again. It took a while to load, but it loaded successfully in the end.
