I not sure this a bug or not but I been trying join Multiplayer with a friend and we can join at the multiplayer menu area but when we go into character menu just show blue tabs and that it, we try have I host and same thing for them and then now just black screen and won't load in no more and put me back into main menu or them back, try rebooting and cleaning files and just unsure what to do

Posted this in bug reports but I feel like I should here as a heads up:

I was playing through the Simulacrum mode and it stopped spawning enemies halfway through Wave 102. I looked around the whole map to try and see if there was an enemy stuck or something but nope. I waited for about 20 mins just to see if anything would happen but nothing did. Had to end the run. I’ve also heard of 5-6 other people experience this, from Reddit. They said it stopped spawning around waves 100-120.

Yes, after installing DLC I've had severe fps issues, gets unplayable by stage 5/6.

I capped it at 60 fps, but it starts dipping down to 11-13 fps around those stages.

I don't think you should be hitting even 70 C with stock cooler for 2600 on ror2. It could be your case, assuming lack of airflow, or you might need a repaste of your cpu.

Edit: Something else to note is that when I did join a friend's game (even though I wasn't able to host it), I had major ping. He mentioned it was somewhere in the 900s, so it definitely seems something connection wise. I can't find an IP to traceroute, though, as I'm not sure how RoR2 multiplayer works exactly.

Edit2: I renamed it to output-log-backup and tried to generate a new file. It didn't.

Okay so it happened that i found some of my games in the NVIDIA Configuration pannel like Risk of Rain 2 autoselected the integrated graphics of my laptop even when i'm plugged in so i don't need the battery prevention, i switched to "Nvidia processor high performance" and it made my game smoother, at least from the little i tested.

So, if you have a laptop with integrated graphic too and you are plugged in (so you don't use the battery) then it could maybe increase a bit of your performance.

Hi! The game worked fine before, but now has trouble starting, with random lag spikes. I am confused as to what happened, and have freed up space on my admittedly very full hard drive, just in case that's a factor. I'm part of the crowd with random crashes, and I've noticed that Artificer crashes far more often than any other character. Hadn't seen it mentioned anywhere and figured it should be.

I'm on a really old GPU and my best guess is some incompatibility with some shader.

So, for future reference, if anyone else is having this problem. (Also maybe a pin would be good?)

If some or all of your controller axis aren't responding (if you can turn left and right but not move the camera up and down, for example) first, unplug all other non-keyboard non-mouse peripherals. Steam controller, fight stick, hotas, ect, all of it.

Next, create a new profile. Name it 'Fix Me' (the name isn't mandatory but it helps.) Keep your old profile. Close the game.

Go to your Steam install directory (not the RoR install directory.) You're looking for where the profiles are stored

In my case it's C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\ (some numbers I'm removing because they identify me)\632360\remote\UserProfiles

632360 is the same for everyone, that's Risk of Rain 2's ID.

You should see however many profiles you have. You're looking for the 2 you access most recently. (one will be your bugged profile, one will be the new profile you created.) Open both in Wordpad.

On your bugged profile, highlight and then delete everything between <joystickMap> and <name>'Profile Name'</name> ('Profile Name' will be whatever name you entered for your profile)

Tab to the other Word Pad. Copy everything between <joystickMap> and <name>Fix Me</name> and paste it (in the correct position) into your bugged profile.

If there are multiple instances of any of those terms, use the top-most instance for <joystickMap> and the first instance of <name>Fix Me</name> below that point.

Save changes and exit.

You should now have un-screwed your profile, resetting the game to it's default input bindings for all devices.

And by 'should now have' I mean 'this is what I just did and it fixed the problem.'

(Obviously copy and paste your profile somewhere before you do this so that if you screw up you didn't corrupt it)

So after a bunch of testing, the seemingly random crashing I had actually appears to be specifically character based. Haven't tested every character, but it seems like Commando and Bandit do not crash while Huntress and Artificer do. Might be something to check if you're having crashes randomly during gameplay.

Crashes normally tend to happen when a lot of stuff is going on (not necessarily to a huge extent). Examples are activating the teleporter, Volcano Egg Equipment, Djrons Band.

Most likely related to hardware. Check the pins if you haven't already, but it could be that you're running out of memory, it could be related to overclocking; heck, we've even seen issues related to printers being connected to the network. If you post your output log and/or a crash dump (see the pins), it might help to diagnose. But since the issue is most likely hardware related, you might find solutions by googling the error given in the crash dump.
