I've been trying to play the new DLC with my friends, right?
Earlier today I was able to play a couple runs with myself and one friend just fine. But then a few hours later we got 2 more for a full lobby, and my ping suddenly skyrocketed to between 3000ms and 8000ms.

And this issue is only in ROR2, I can load 1080p60 video perfectly fine, and after an internet speed test I got 90mb down, 20mb up.

I've tried almost everything. Restarted the game, Steam, my PC, disabled and re-enabled my ethernet, uninstalled all mods, re-installed the game, and I'm a bit miffed to be honest because none of it worked.

On my very modest windows machine it loads in 30 sec at max, on linux through Protons can get in the minutes range depending on system load

So, I got a corrupted file (the cause of corruption unrelated to the dlc). The issue is that I just cannot fully delete the corrupted file from the profile list. The file itself is gone and I can confirm that as it isn't in the userdata folder for the game. This doesn't impact gameplay in much way but it just annoys me that here is a corrupted file being displayed on the profile list. Is there any way to get rid of it for good or am I just gonna have to deal with it being there? Yes I have tried deleting it ingame, that didn't work.

well, i looked and didn't find logs in either location, my guess why is that my game isn't "crashing", the screen just goes black after a few seconds of starting a run (i think some others had the same problem, and the reply was to wait for a patch? just making sure that i had the same problem)

• faulty RAM/storage. check 3rd pin for scans listed that may fix it
• outdated/malfunctioning drivers. please update all to the newest recommend update, do not take experimental ones
• overclock/boosting. set CPU/GPU/RAM to stock speed in your BIOS

but you can access your bios when booting up your pc, it is usually tied to the F12 key, so just spam that while your PC is booted up

it is recommended you watch a tutorial on your specific motherboard however, so you know what everything does and what not to touch

i see, that was obvious thou, the issue is still the total lack of communication on their part, not if they are working on it or if its a game issue or bot, which is what has frustrated most of us. Even a ”we are looking into it” does a lot. Hello, I had a couple of promising simulacrum runs die to crashes just after disappearing to take the portal to the next zone. I don't remember what zone I was in the first time, but the second time I was leaving the Titanic Plains zone. First was after wave 40, second was after wave 50.

I have the directories containing the crash dumps and zipped them up here. Not every simulacrum run dies in this way, just 2 so far out of maybe 10. Hopefully these help.

thats called over defending a legitimate mistake specially when they were communicating, pretty actively, just not with us, not even a single word. That they are an indie company doesnt mean they dont make mistakes, they just have to learn from them. Well, then I'm not really sure what you're asking for. I really want to help people get in to be able to play the game, but if the issue related to, for instance, graphics drivers, then there's not a whole lot I can do other than offer directions to update graphics drivers.

this is an ongoing problem that ive been struggling with since day one (over a year and a half of gameplay)
im using an xbox one controller on my pc.
ive gone into big picture mode, and activated all my controller support settings and downloaded all the most recent drivers. and this is ONLY an issue on risk.
but if i have my controller plugged into the pc (wired or wireless) before i start a round, i will not be able to have any control support in game.
the only fix ive been able to find is to have the controller completely disconnected from the pc. load up risk, start a game, plug in the controller, die.
from then on i have full controller support in game. this has become increasingly annoying when trying to play with my friends. does anybody have any suggestions???

Since the engine update (about year back) the number of players who can't access the game grew. We're (people who came up with fixes here) unable to figure out what's causing those issues. We're able to identify what's wrong on some cases, but often it's complete mystery as we do not have enough information about how game engine works.

We know that it isn't your fault and you do all you could to avoid such issues. But we need to know if those crashdumps are usefull for you, if you're able to fetch more info from them than we are. If there are investigation going on. Because lots of people hoped for this update to fix their unability to play and apparently even more players stumbled into fresh issues that prevents them from playing.

The first thing I do when I see a crash log is to google the error message, and 9 times out of 10, I find someone else complaining about the same issue with another game, and the fix they found will probably work. Most of these issues don't really have anything to do with our game specifically, but they are closely tied to the player's hardware, etc., and I don't have access to every hardware configuration, etc.

As we add more stuff to the game, the amount of memory that the game uses grows, so I wouldn't be surprised if some people are encountering issues with running out of memory. So another thing one could try is closing other applications and background services.
