General Solutions

• Go to the RoR2.exe in the local files (NOT right-clicking in the Steam client) > right click > Properties > Compatibility > Change high DPI settings > check the High DPI scaling override box > switch the scaling from Application to System or System enhanced.
• Your system may be running out of RAM due to the Unity Engine update. Close ALL other programs aside from Steam and try again.
• Install the game on a different storage disk, restart your pc and verify files (only applies if you have multiple storage disks).
• Check if the game has a config.cfg file. This is found in Risk_of_Rain2_Data\Config. If not, verify files. If it doesn't appear, download this blank file and place it in the folder [ #ror2-tech-support message ]
• If you have multiple screens, unplug your additional screens and launch the game. When the game has launched, you can plug them back in and have them function normally.
• Certain older graphic cards cause crashes inconsistently. Ensure your GPU driver is up-to-date if it still has one. Hey, i made a report in steam already, but it seems kind of dead :/ so i just deleted it.
After buying dlc, and updating game, the game launches and loads, even starts the intro, but it freezes and becomes transparent when captain says "This planet... it is" and keeps playing the music, or if i skip it just shows cursor for a few seconds, and does the same but the menu music plays.
Ive restarted steam, verified files, reinstalled game, with dlc and without, restarted pc a bunch of times.
Ive also noted the game takes a bit longer to load than usual
Ive done iox fix, which solved the going transparent issue, but increased loading time by 3 times, and it freezes anyway, but i do hear the menu in game atleast.
Issue remains consistent regardless of tries, and after iox fix, game doesnt seem to unfreeze after a while
Update Menu eventually also freezes with iox fix
Update 2 Repeating previous steps after iox fix do not solve the issue. And intro freezes a bit earlier, in the it, instead of the is. And well, it also brings out the risk or rain 2 unity error box, same one others been sharing, and proceeds to crash the game, which didnt happen with skipping intro scene

Having a lot of issues trying to do multiplayer after getting the Survivors of the Void DLC personally.

Friend of mine can join each other lobbies but when we try to go to character select it often bugs out and shows what looks like a non-configured character select screen before booting the client player. Host is usually fine.
If we do manage to get past character select and get it to work, the client player gets disconnected after maybe 5 minutes

Anybody else having these kinds of lobby issues?

So just got home, downloaded the dlc and when i booted up the game and selected railgunner in the singleplayer screen the game just froze and crashed. After a couple more tries i got into the game and after 1-2 seconds of being ingame it just froze and crashed again.

I've tried verifying file integrity and restarting my pc but it didn't work. Also tried turning off the dlc and the game still crashed as soon as i entered stage 1.

Anyone else experiencing the same problem or is it just me?

Ill just explain the problem as much as i can. I downloaded sotv dlc today and after i joined the game i clicked at the railgunner survivor, my game stopped working and i checked files, redownloaded the game, nothing happened and it kept freezing when i click settings or try to switch character

i see, but some mouse drivers allow you to configure buttons, including nulling their effect when certain programs are active

im not sure if you have a mouse like that, but if you do, that may help from accidentally pressing it

Getting a bad password error when trying to join my own dedicated server.

If the password in server.cfg is left blank the server works perfectly fine people can join and the dedicated server works as expected. server_start.cfg has not been modified.

If I put a lower case password such as password I get a bad password error when join using the steam server browser and entering password when prompted. It doesn't matter what the password is the error is the same. Any suggestions?

Im assuming you've never played a game that's done this to you, but many games have updates that just don't blend with pc's, I had this issue with Read Dead Redemption 2, computer can run it fine technically but it just crashes. sadly that's how it is sometimes.

Just be sure to read what we say clearly, and try and keep an eye on the things you click or see. if something is even slightly different then shown, you most likely haven't done it right.

I've had this issue weirdly with payday 2, i would do some file integrity checks, check if it works in other games, and then check what is bound in game.
