@glacial garnet this is indeed lag. Game is p2p with middle point of steam servers (nore, there is many) so it might be relayed. Whoever hosts the game expirience 0 lag, but all clients are connected thru this host to eachother and to enemys too! So you have to lead your shots to where enemys would be (for exmaple if you're playing as artificer) in case if connection isnt good enough.
Try direct connection with your friend.

You also can connect to someone else who would act as a host to you. Dedicated servers are great, there is many dediservers already hosted by other players.

@raw cloud cant be in singleplayer. Check your framerate. You can enable fps counter from steam overlay to be displayed ower the game somewhere in the corner. Check that its above 60 in menu or ingame.

@blissful zephyr not really shure what you mean, but try to switch on and off read only flag from propertys of config file.

It might be set to read only, it shouldnt.
You can manually edit it if you wish. Set your desired resolution with resolution 1280x1024x75; line, use your own monitor resolution.
Also try alt+enter combo while in the game. It cycles resolution mode (Windowed > fullscreen)

@inner anvil yep, that's refresh rate. There is no point in exceeding your fps above this value, your monitor wont shot the difference above this point.
Sometimes disabling vsync helps to regain 20-30fps back but disabling it unlimits max fps for the game (if not set)
Here fps_max 60; line comes handy, right after the resolution and refresh rate one.
You need to simply match them. If you have 75hz monitor (like i do) you better to set fps_max 75; for its resolution resolution 1280x1024x75; (i have 1280x1024 one)

@soft gorge i am not shure what caused this crash, but it does seem consistent. Logs have same lines at same moments.
Those acces violation crashes ushually related to OC ram. Game rn having problems with some motherboards having XMP memory profiles enabled. Those crashes are random. Could happen any moment, but ushually happen at heated moments, where lots of enemys die or spawn.
Your case is different. Your game spams null reference for effects. And crash happens at exact same moment at transition to phase 4.

Those componetns could go corrupt and cause very very wierd behaviour of the game. I doubt this is the case here, but there is no harm in doing it. So worth to try.

Higly recommend to make a copy and store it somewhere just in case of backup needed.
Enable steam overlay fps counter and check what fps you get at various stages of the game: In menu, in character selection, in 1st time after you spawn etc.
Its possible that you get bad performance only if you move your mouse, if that's the case - update your mouse software or use another one.
Reinstalling shouldn't affect performance at all.

After you did that - check if you get more fps at same moments of the game.
If not:
- disable Vsync
- try older drivers for gpu.

I can run R6S at highest graphics without lag spikes. I have the NVidia frame counter in the upper left. I tried moving for a while without moving my mouse, and it still had a lag spike. I also tried it with just standing still and there was a spike then too. It actually happens quite consistently, every 8-9 seconds. Disabling V-Sync didn't fix it unfortunately. I verified the game files. It also happens in the menu.

@steady topaz I've done all of the things you mentioned, except instead of moving to an older version of my drivers, I updated them, since they were quite out of date. The framerate issues got a little better, but it's still pretty unplayable. It doesn't seem to be related to my mouse at all, as it's inconsistent regardless of whether or not I'm moving my mouse. It gets considerably worse during boss fights.

I'm not sure if this would be the place to ask, but what would be a reason for excess memory usage? I know I run the game modded but I haven't messed around with any of my mods since last time I played, prior to getting more RAM, and it's using 5.7k MB of my RAM by itself which wouldn't have been possible prior to getting extra RAM
I'll probably just have to uninstall some of my mods but I don't know if there's any other way to limit/reduce the amount of memory being used

@frigid thistle Dxdiag.txt is a file that contains data about your pc hardvare and drivers. (You can be identified by fingerprint of this data, so i am asking you not to share it with everyone. There is no personal data, but still)
You can generate one by pressing winkey + R this opens up small window where you need to type dxdiag and then just press enter.
larger window appears that says something something dxdiag. Simply wait till its done collecting data and save this data into a file with a button on bottom right corner. Send this file to me in dms. Ill get a look. I also need as much as possible info about your issue. Include logs from the game. Drop error.log and output.log from C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Temp\Hopoo Games, LLC\Risk of Rain 2\Crashes

Hello. I'm trying to play with a friend which lives in Europe, just like me, and the game is utterly unplayable for the both of us. Only the host seem capable of playing, while the other suffers from more than 20-30 seconds of delay. Regardless of who is hosting, this issue happens to anyone who isn't hosting.
We don't play with mods, we tried launching the game without steam and we're really running out of ideas. I have checked the dev console and I had between 111 and 113ms when not hosting for my friend.

There is more complexity to this whole networking, game is p2p, you might want to google on how peer to peer works.
You should be able to play with anyone who also have radming. It handles ports itself, but sometimes it doesnt work.

yeah, yeah. its because you were connected thru other networking points. I dont have the time to explain it rn, but there is a whole chain of translator-retranslator type points where your data could be lost.
You can get your frined external ip on myip.com and then trace route to it with cmd.exe by using tracert 192.168.0.1 command (use external ip of your friend) and you will see a list of all those points.
Somewhere there your data gets delayed or lost.
Kinda like that, but ushually you should be able to establish direct connection if one of you have "white" ip (static)

There is a limited # of ip addresses possible, so ISP use technology to redirect data meant to different PCs, but they send it with same adress.
There usually is paid option to get a static ip adress that doesnt change and unique whithin your IPS networks.
This whole stuff is complicated as heck.
Usefull thisng you might want to know:
Use upnp in your routers (this allows applications to forward data thru ports from your network, if possible)
Open (forward) 7777 port. Game uses that.
This game is p2p (peer to peer) that means whoever hosts a game - becomes the server for every client. Clients are separated from each other ans synced thru host. If host have bad output connection - everyone, but host struggles with desync and enemys snapping thru space.
Delays (ping) cause clients to aim at things that already moved out the way on host's side. So clients need to lead theyr shots further, the more the delay is.
You can bring in the game console ``+ctrl+alt(in that order) and typehost 1to host a lan based game (without steam) and then whoever wants to connect to you needs to open the console and executeconnect 192.168.1.1:7777` (with your external ip, you can see it here: http://myip.com)
This connection doesnt use steam servers (there is many) as middle point, instead it relyes entirely on your ability to send and recive data from your friend's pc. In this case radmin.vpn could help you establish easy virtual lan network. You can use theyr servers as a middle point.
And for last, easyer solution to your problem would be to play on someone's else server. There is plenty dedicated servers hosted from other ppl for all.

@mental needle @wide prawn How ever, it still is a peer to peer connection. If host having troubles to support connection to all clients - those clients get disconnected. (you're able to reconnect btw) But in case of @mental needle i am not shure, i havent seen the ror2 on consoles, but in case of pc this look like a crash.
If host crashes - everyone disconnected and there is no way to reconnect to this run anymore. As all processing of enemy movement etc, computed on host's side.
Note that even if you live in same building, connected with same ISP and even can hear each other thru the wall. - you re still connected thru a bunch of relay points. Sometimes data gets lost on ISP side.
Restarting your router forces your 24hr session to restart and if you have dynamic ip (most likely) ISP gives you one of his already forwared ip's.
I dont really know what to suggest to you, but i am shure - the problem is in the connection.

because that's how it was long time ago for PC players.
And again, this is tottal speculation, i dont know how it really is in your case, but yes, you're right about disconnections and host.

This is such a strange weird issue for myself. I’m not a network engineer or whatever but I have been a Xbox live member for the past 16 years and so far, this is the only game on Xbox One that has this issue. That same night we went through about an hours worth of troubleshooting with only one successful match we were all able to play together. We did play some other games to see if maybe the Xbox servers were experiencing any issues but we managed to play 4 different Call of Duty games, Monster Hunter, Castle Crashers, Borderlands 3, and Super Bomberman R all without any issues and we played at least 2 matches each. I know we tried the next night but still were not able to play together. This is frustrating because this is a super hella fun game to play but we keep losing connection and cannot join the host’s lobby

Noticed yesterday my performance was really bad when normally I can play 100+ fps high settings on an ultrawide monitor with my 8700k/1080ti. After some troubleshooting it seems to be some type of driver issue for me.
On nvidia driver 457.51, I have no issues but once I move up to 460.79(Cyberpunk update) and above, my performance tanks.

@lethal rose did you have any success in finding a fix? 9900K/RTX3080 here and same issue, FPS is over 100 but unstable and game stuttery even at first stages. At later stages it goes below 100. Playing at 1440p.
Haven't played in a while but when I had 2080 before there were no issues and I had constant stable FPS until later stages but it was never stuttering like now. Going down driver versions really isn't an option either since Cyberpunk is also a game I play :/

You will find crashfiles in:
C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Temp\Hopoo Games, LLC\Risk of Rain 2\Crashes
For dxdiag press winkey+R and type in dxdiag press enter, this opens dxdiag window where it collects data about your drivers, hardware and all the versions.
You can save it into a txt file with a button on bottom right. Send me those files in dm, do not share dxdiag for everyone.
@worldly rapids you installed mods "manually", those files you added in the game folder should be deleted. You can just wipe the game and download it back, but be aware that steam doesnt delete those files you added, you have to delete them yourself after steam is done uninstalling.
Use this modmanager, as someone already suggested: https://thunderstore.io/package/ebkr/r2modman/
Its easy and reliable.

I've never really been able to play risk of rain 2, I bought it with the 1.0 update and it always crashed although the game runs perfectly at max settings.

can't help ya there. I've encountered no such issues. my game runs flawlessly until it doesn't. I can be in a match, in the menu, there can be 1000 VFX in my screen or barely any. It makes no difference, the game will just freeze while I still get audio queues of what's going on to then crash shortly after with a unity crashed window that you can barely see from how fast it closes itself up

@fresh falcon I am not a techsupport, i dont work for hopoo devs. Its just i know some of the workarounds and issues of the game and was answering here from the early access relise.
I need to see the logs from you. If your game crashes and crashhandler sees that - it writes a log. If game crashed super hard, like face to the pavement hard - there wont be any logs. Game just wasnt able to write one.
But
As soon as you run the game - it writes a log, you can find it here: C:\Users\Username\AppData\LocalLow\Hopoo Games, LLC\Risk of Rain 2\output_log.txt
Note that appdata is a hidden folder. You can access it with winkey+R, when you type in appdata and press enter.
Drop this log right here a few moments after your game crashes again. Do not try to rerun the game after crash occurs -it rewrites the log making it useless to me.
Would also be nice to see your laptop hardware. Dxdiag file contains it, but dont post it here. Drop it in my dm if you feel ok with that. See how to get it above in one of my other messages.
So far i think its ram related issue. But there is some treads to corrupted data, because you mentioned dying hdd.
There is programs that analise your hdd life status based on its smart data, runtime and performance. Crystaldiskinfo for example.

@shadow shore This is weird. That does look like memory issue, but it is very closely tied to gpu driver.
have you tried to disable xmp memory profile from bios? This should fix the issue if your ram is acting up. You gotta google how to do it for your particular motherboard. Should be plenty guides on youtube.

@shadow shore you see.. there was a dozen reports about game crashing with nvidia cards for no reason. Devs took a look and said it is very strange issue caused by driver. And so far nvidia didnt fix it. Some ppl having performance issues on top gpus, likely because of this.

@shadow shore XMP is a kind of automatic manufacturer allowed presets for power and frequency settings to run your RAM. Its simplified ram overclock. Ushually there is 2-3 settings: 1,2,disabled.
For some reason game having problems with clocked ram. It tryes to read/write data and gets lost. This type of error is critical so it closes itself to prevent data corruption.
Some motherboards come with XMP set to auto.
Also same thing might be done with software provided by the manufacturer of laptops (ushually "gaming" ones)

Anyone experience really poor performance with more than two players? Used to do 4 player monsoon runs all the time but after the last few updates performance overall seems to have gone down to the point of being nearly unplayable with 3-4 players beyond stage 4 or so. Seems to be CPU limited overall like the game is just spawning way too many entities for Unity to handle. I don't suppose there is a known fix? Kinda ruined the game for my usual group.

Uninstall
Microsoft VC 2019 for both 86 and 64.
Then uninstall
Microsoft VC 2015 for both 86 and 64 (if you have it).
And after you done with those go to https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145
Download and install both 86 and 64.
Reboot and start the game. If it hangs again - drop the log here and @me

You can find such log file in your Risk of Rain 2/BepInEx/ folder, the file is called LogOutput.log.
Drag the file in this channel so that other users can help you.
If you are using r2modman :
You can copy your log by going to the r2modman Settings screen, selecting the Debugging tab and clicking Copy LogOutput.log to clipboard
And paste it in this channel.

hey guys, im wondering if this is a known issue: my gpu seems to be running fairly hot at uncapped fps, which would be intended behavior as it tries to push as many frames as possible, but the problem only appears if i leave the game on pause for a while. Capping and uncapping the fps drops the temps to more reasonable levels as long as i keep playing, but entering a pause menu will eventually bring them up again. Any ideas?

I can't join my friend's game to play trios, every time I've tried it gave me a black screen and brought me back to the main menu. I tried restarting steam, reinstalling the game, verifying file integrity, running the game as administrator and giving it permissions with windows firewall. On the off chance I do make it to the character selection with my friends, when we go to start the actual game and get to drop pods I disconnect.

@round gale this crash happens due to game enggine having problem reading/writing RAM data it needs.
its a known issue and solution is to disable XMP memory profile from bios. those crashes typically random and happen in any game module
however in this particular case i am not sure that it isn't gpu drivers. because your game seems to have problems loading textures in dx module.
id suggest you to disable xmp to test if it crashes still. easy to do, google on what xmp is and for guide to disable it for your particular motherboard.

only after selecting "Multiplayer: Online Play" THEN selecting "Host Private Game" BUT NOT YET "Start Game" may your friend browse for and find the lobby you have created. The screen is still deceptively void of detail but you'll notice your nickname on Switch has appeared in the top right, signifying you are a party leader and your friend should appear beneath it accordingly as in any other online multiplayer game. I do hope they update the details of these screens soon and add an invitation option

Constant In Game Crashes
So my game crashes consistently thru out any game no matter the graphics settings or res setting i put on regardless of locked or unlimited fps (just sain i can push around 200 fps on max settings) the issue started when i got the full release of the game intresting fact it crashes faster from 0.3 to 5 mins while having few artifacts on and on moonson dif and be kind of consistent on drizzle mentaining the run from 30 to 70 mins before crash, tried verifieng files, reinstalling game, video drivers update, without and with game overlays, compatabilty and running as administrator as i said earlier tried different res and graph setting but nothing seems to be working...

@dusk pawn you might want to get attention from devs. I haven't seen such exceptions before, looks like game couldn't load some reflections, tryed lots of times, but failed. 'System.Reflection.ReflectionTypeLoadException' was thrown.

(Read 60 bytes but expected 112 bytes)
And then shut itself down.
I have no idea where this might come from, but from my expirience with VC++ problems - they are very vary in crazyness. It might be so that your system reports of succesfull uninstallation/installation, where it isnt actually true and 2015 component (needed for the game) beeing corrupted without system noticing.
Try to uninstall both 86 and 64 components from 2019 first, and then any you have installed for 2015. Then download and install 2015 only (both 86 and 64):https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145
You might need to install ccleaner to remove corrupted parts from registry, its freeware. Easy to use, just run registry checks a couple of times before installing VCs back.

You will find crashfiles (that log) in C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Temp\Hopoo Games, LLC\Risk of Rain 2\Crashes
If it says access violation somewhere in a couple of first lines - you likely having issues with ram beeing overclocked. Turn XMP memory profile from bios to disabled (or try to use 1), likely it set to auto. This is known to cause crashes to some players.

@hollow lily make shure you saved the file in its original format (UTF-8), even single spacebar in wrong place could cause profile corruption.
Also you might want to remove corrupted profiles from game files so it wont show up in the profile selection menu.
Make a backup just in case. Update it now and then.

@raw pebble @worn sonnet @orchid flame You guys have the same issue. This game is peer to peer connection type, it uses steam servers to pass connection. When this helps to avoid port forwarding to most of the players, sometimes it creates an issue to those, who have unreliable connection, obstructions in the chain of connection or just bad internet service providers who didnt do NAT properrly or ask additional money for port good port forwarding.
Basically data gets lost somewhere on your (or your friends) end and game able to connect (in this case clients have issues like empty character selection or huge delays, shots that isnt hit-scan based, like artificer fire bolts unable to do damage to moving targets, desync, etc)
Or clients unable to reach the host at all (blocked incoming data)
There is 3 workarounds:
- Play on someone's else server. Ushually there is some dedicated servers hosted by kind ppl. Or use #lfg-pc-ror2 channel to ask someone to be a host for you.
- Connect with direct connection thru console command. This helps in case where steam servers are a weak chainlink to your connection. As it doesnt use steam servers and rely on host external connection.
- Connect with direct connection via lan imitation network like radminvpn. Same kind of connection, just only uses 3rd party server (radmin) as a middle point.

Okay so I need some help with fps issues. My friend has an i5-4690k and a GTX 980 and during the teleportor event on stage 8 he was getting 90fps. I have a Ryzen 7 2700 and a Vega 64. During that same fight I was averaging 20 fps and at one point dipped to 13, one point up to 30.
My CPU and GPU should both be doing better than his, so idk why my fps is so low
his graphics settings are even higher than mine, I'm using 720p, he is using 1440p, I have no anti aliasing, no corpses, etc and he has higher settings for me on those various options as well

Bump for my issue; the game is simply unplayable past stage 6. Strangely, according to task manager, my GPU utilization is only at 30% during all of this, though it's around 75% at the character select menu.

I'm not sure if this belongs in tech support but my friends and I have been getting an issue where we'd try to join on someone's lobby and it would show a black screen before getting kicked back to the main menu after 10 seconds. This only seems to happen when we make a server that has more than 4 players using console commands (It started happening yesterday before that we didn't have any issues).

@marsh gyro game is cpu heavy, mostly single core. There is no use to rest of your 16 threads if game cant use them. Also utilisation shows only collective load. Gpu isn't a bottle neck here i think, but 30% is kinda low for this particular gpu. I guess you face one of those issues:
- Unstable cpu core speed. You can check the core speed with cpu-z, if it sitting at lower end or even worse goes up and down like on this example https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/559902278018924557/703132048029777930/video0.mov no doubt its gonna tank the overall performance of the game. Update your bios to solve this.
- Poorly performing gpu driver. For some unknown to me reason some players having bad performance out of newer drivers for nvidia gpu cards. But you have amd card and i havent heard of problems with it yet. Try to install older driver.

Try older gpu drivers, see if this helps.

Hello! I have an issue where the game starts, but it is just a black screen with audio. Keep in mind it was working completely fine before the latest map update. I checked the config file like i usually do when something goes wrong and it was missing, i tried to verify the game files via steam and its still not back. Can i have some help?

Hey so I want to use the Azeron Keypad in ror2 just to see if I like it or not but I have set it up and it still will not work. All buttons are unrecognized and the Joystick doesnt work in game. is there any way to figure this out? Also using keyboard doesnt allow the joystick to work. You can change it to be WASD but it still wont recognize it. I am very confused and I would appreciate any help

Not shure if game works with this layout. Make sure you dont have vjoy installed, this might cause joystick problems. If game sees joystick plugged in - its prioritises it over keyboard.
Edge case: you can rebind keys in autoit like program via simple code (i think so)

@glossy heart you used mods, and you installed them manually. Files of those mods isnt listed for steam uninstall so it doesnt touch them. Uninstalling with steam doesnt erase mods.
Those mods and API they work on are very old and isnt supported now.
Uninstall mods manually, just wipe entire game folder. It wont affect your savefile in any way.

Use modmanager to install mods from now on to avoid such problems.

@tardy arch game isnt really ram hungry. i7-4790k with only 4gb tottal of ddr3 and it runs on max settings for me. Single core cpu performance is what really matters for this game.

Hey guys, I have a couple of dedicated server questions real quick. Are there any console commands out there? I can't seem to find any at all.
The issues I am trying to fix are as follow:
1. When I am in the lobby (hosting on my PC) I cannot vote for difficulty or artifacts. Can I make myself host/operator somehow?
2. When someone leaves the server's lobby their spot is still there.
I believe most to all of these issues would be fixed if the instance of ROR2 that runs the server is also the instance I am playing on but I do not know if that is at all possible, thanks in advance!

I have some overclocked b-die. No benchmark or game will crash on me except Risk of Rain 2. Even TM5 anta777 extreme will spit out 0 errors in 5 passes. Seems odd to me that ROR2 is the only thing that will crash with my OC'd ram. Reverting to stock XMP fixed the crashing.

Yeah, XMP works just fine for me. It only crashes when I bump it up to 1.5v and start tweaking the subtimings. ROR2 doesn't seem to hate frequency increases though. Curious if it's a specific timing that I'm changing or what?

@quiet shoal unknown why, but some ppl have crashes with ram access violation error if ram is oc'ed or xmp is on 1-2notches. (basically oc too)
Engine doesnt like it for some reason. Seems to happen in various modules of the game.
Fix is to disable oc and xmp. Updating bios also works for some ppl.
Also note that different ram cards installed together also cause same issues with xmp.

Try disabling xmp memory profile from bios. Google on what xmp is and how to turn it of for your specific motherboard.
Overclocked ram or ram cards from different manufacturers plugged together also may cause those kind of crashes.
If disabling isnt possible - try running single ram card on your current xmp settings, if game still crashes - check the ram for errors.

@pearl kernel i just checked the OW, its on the same game engine. Might be similar issue. Devs cant really do much about it, since they didn't develop the engine. For now just be with disabled xmp, its not a drastic downgrade of ram performance.

@pearl kernel there was no engine update for a couple of updates.
I dont know what causing the crashes exactly. So i cant tell you what changed, but guessing - something with drivers. Those crashfiles you gave me - they had error writing data onto ram from dx3d module wich is graphics. So far updating or downgrading drivers for gpu had no effect to those who i spoke to.
Disabling xmp/oc seems the only option.
Also there is possibility that your ram got damaged and making errors on higher frequrency,voltage,etc - exactly what xmp does.

@plain berry uninstall mcrosoft VC 2015 and 2019 components. Both for 86 and 64.

Restart the pc and try the game.
If installation says that there is already 2015 installed, when it's not listed in programs and components - try restarting your pc a couple of times then install 2015 one. If it still says component installed - @me

My game won't spawn chests in or the teleporter, which is obviously a major concern. It'll spawn chests if I go into the Eclipse gamemode, but the items can't be picked up. I have no mods installed and I've already checked the integrity of the files through Steam, as well as uninstalled and reinstalled the game.

@slow jungle mods are installed, and outdated. Remove mods you placed in the game folder, or wipe entire folder and check integrity of game files with steam. Steam will redownload the files.

@plain berry this looks like folder containing installation files for VC components. I dont get what here you want to uninstall.
What you should do is to open your control panel and find programs and components. A menu where all installed programs are listed.
Sort this list by name and find Microsoft Visual C++ 2019 (86) and Microsoft Visual C++ 2019 (64) uninstall those two first.
Then find Visual C++ 2015 (86) and Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 (64) if you have them installed - uninstall.
After doing that go to https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145 and download two installation files, run and install both.

the discord overlay (and any discord keybinds) don't work, i can't use shift + tab to open steam, and pressing the "+" buttons in the multiplayer menu doesn't bring up the invite friends steam pop-up
i don't have this issue with my other steam games
possibly related: soon after getting the game, i had severe mouse lag and did some odd tech fixes (link below), which also caused me to have to run the game as administrator whenever i booted it up

I'm having a weird issue with ror2. I can't play it at all because when I start it, it says "no gamepad" and I can't use mouse or keyboard.
Been having it for a while. I've checked to see if vjoy drivers were still enabled and I can't find them anywhere (was causing previous issues), I've verified the game content, and reinstalled it & nothing helped.
No controller is plugged in either.
Nevermind, I'm dumb. Somehow my vjoy drivers weren't where I remembered them being, and somehow they got enabled. Disabling them fixed the issue.

Hey my server isn't showing up in the steam server list or in the game server browser. I've forwarded the ports to my machine. Myself and friends are able to connect manually via dev console. Yesterday literally 24 hours ago it was showing up just fine. any ideas and any help to trouble shoot?

Enabled XMP or overclocked ram - are primary sources of those crashes.
Also might be:
Unstable cpu core speed
Enabled overclock of some "gaming" laptops
Damaged ram card
Ram cards that work together with different manufacturer cards.
Very outdated bios
If you have multiple crashfolders - put them all in an rar archive and send me, ill get a look. If cause of crashes is ramdon - its 100% ram issue.

- there is no servers, game is p2p. If you hosted the lobby - you are the server
- you're able to reconnnet and game will respawn you with all the items if you were alive for some time after disconnection
Problem is on your network side.

1: Black ops 2 was made in 2012 and could handle host migration, I don’t see why a modern game cannot. 2: reconnection must not be supported or must be bugged on xbox because the invite and join options are always greyed out when someone is attempting to reconnect.

are you sure your save data is corrupted? doing the following will wipe your progress, so be certain that your save data is corrupted
try going into steam, go into your library, right click risk of rain, properties and look for verify integrity of game cache (i believe under the 'local files' tab, however i could be wrong)
if not, a fresh reinstall would be your best bet

My controller (Generic Gamepad) isn’t working with ROR2. I used Xbox 360 CE and Steam’s Big Picture Mode, but still nothing.
I should’ve also mentioned that the controller works sometimes, but doesn’t work well enough that I can navigate the menu. There's also a weird visual glitch that happens in the bottom right corner of the screen where the 'No Profile Selected' and 'Unknown' overlap over each other.
Any ideas why I might be getting this issue?

This issue occurs when Windows is reporting a gamepad, joystick, or other input device providing a non-neutral input. This is usually caused by:
- Having a gamepad, flight stick, HOTAS, pedal, racing wheel, or any other kind of non-keyboard/non-mouse input device plugged in. Simply unplug the device from your computer.
- Having vjoy installed. If you've ever tried to use a GameCube controller with your PC, you probably have it installed. Opening your computer's Device Manager window should allow you to disable or uninstall it.

hey, i get unity crashes after several stages of play. The error reads "write to location [16 digits] caused an access violation."
I've previously been advised to downclock my RAM, which helps, but I've found that solution only delays the crash a while, usually up to Sky Meadow, and doesn't completely solve it.
