yeah it's playee because you don't have "see the extensions of files" enabled, you should enable that tho, it can help, also it can help "detect" files that can be a bit suspicious, like if someone send you a executable but with a file name that say ".png"

I install r2modman and play it couple of days and now my game won't open. So I have ~500hrs on my ror2 steam profile, and was grinding eclipse levels. I started using some quality of life mods, like wetlands water, DPS meter, stats, and I ended up installing an "unlock all" mod thinking it would just unlock the skills for characters I didn't feel like grinding out. It ended up unlocking all of my Eclipse levels (which is the only thing I'm grinding atm) and when I tried to fix it. This happened. I tried fixing it, and contacted support. They sent me here saying there's nothing they can do. Is there any way to get my profile back, with Eclipse levels reset?

I'm gonna ask something that is most likely difficult to do, but whenever you go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\(numbers)\632360\remote\UserProfiles , and you click on the profiles, can you see your progress for the profile you had the 500 hours on?

I'm looking on reddit and it a lot of the stuff are verified support members for gearbox saying they have no work-around for issues like this.

This is something one of them suggested though. I suggest you to do the list of what you've done in the game and change manualy the XML file of your profile (which is working... eventually) and save a copy in another folder. With that you get a safe rollback if this error happen to you.

lag is related to network, connexion issue, when you have like, disconnection in a multiplayer game, it's lag, teleporting too

fps is from your hardware or from the game, optimisation and all

well it's pretty normal to get more fps if you go into a lower resolution but it's still not optimized that you can't run the game in your native resolution, are you sure when you right click on your desktop and search your resolution you are in your native one ?

Hey guys, I'd like to ask how stable are dedicated servers? I'm using one because with a p2p connection I've noticed that the effects late game kill the host's (and client's) fps and I didn't notice that big of a drop with dedi servers. Thing is, it's been running smooth for 2 or so months but nowadays I get this weird behavior that it drops the connection and just sends someone back to the lobby. The server continues to operate as expected, we can reconnect but we have to obviously start a new round. Is this a known thing, or some kind of connection error during match or perhaps some kind of soft crash? Any advice would be appreciated.

Update on this: I've sent a ticket to gbx and they basically said that the dedicated server tool isn't an official app, and that I should contact the creators of the dedicated server setup guide (hopoo, Paul etc.) but I won't be doing that lmao. I wish they would just state that they do NOT support the dedicated server app and thats it.... If anyone has a guess, feel free to tell me

okay there is some things that you could try first

1. Go into your steam library and search for "steam redistribuable" and verifiy the files
2. "A driver may be broken or Visual C++ may be malfunctioning. Open command prompt in administrator mode and type the following commands (let them finish before entering the next). Copy paste without the ''

   'chkdsk /r'
   'DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth'

I will say again but i think you already did it, are you drivers up to date ? Since you did factory reset your pc once did you reinstalled your drivers or there was already there ? If so, you could need to uninstall them and reinstall them with a clean uninstall using DDU

if nothing worked let's try a clean boot too :

Open the Run tool by pressing the Windows Key + R
Type msconfig and hit Enter
Go to the Services tab section
Check Hide all Microsoft services
Click the Disable all button
Click apply and restart your computer

DDU is a software to clean uninstall your drivers, it's mostly and should be mostly used when there is something "wrong" like that, because iirc nvidia drivers are okay to install on after another but if there is a error somewhere it's worth a try

Each one of us has usually great ping and internet (<10ms with less than 5% changes), and any other game/application doesnt have problem, yet we only lag when playing RoR2 together. Hi not sure if anyone else has had similar problems but mine goes like this, I am able to do a run (Solo and Multiplayer) and play it through normally. sometimes. but I also quite often more than not, find my game crashing both mid run and at the start up of the game. I have tried multiple fixes such as; reinstalling the game, playing with and without mods, reformatting my PC, exchanging pc parts and checking if my hardware is causing any issues, validating files on steam, reinstalling Direct, reinstalling Microsoft redistributables, looked through the event viewer and so on and so forth.
I am stuck please help

Hey, i'm pretty sure nobody's experienced this so far (i just checked and didn't find anything, i may be wrong tho) but i launched ror2 the other day while in a voicecall (on discord) with my friends. soon as the game had launched, my mic went basically mute. my friends could only faintly make out my voice, then when i left the game the mic worked fine again. and after launching it for a second time, my mic is now always this quiet, can't use it anymore. if anyone has experienced something like this, or knows what could help, please please let me know. hi i am that said friend and yes, as frsik mentioned i just got magically disconnected: while i was walking the game just dropped me into a new lobby out of nowhere

and now my survivor is walking around and nobody knows what its doing and since frsik already moved up to the place where you fight mithrix because he is insane; he cannot spawn it because i am not there: i was just about to get up

both of us are playing on steam; we have crossplay enabled for other friends that play on epic games but this round was just between us two

really glad if someone could help us: its okay if i cant rejoin but I dont want to ruin the ruin we had for frsik because it really was a god tier run on monsoon xd

this will sound really dumb but i had this and fixed it in a weird way

do you have multiple monitors?
if so, disable them. just have one

open the game and turn off fullscreen
and then open it back up

i had a weird issue where the game would crash if it opened full screen with multiple monitors 💀

Can anybody help with low fps? I can usually play stages 1-3 at around 100+ fps, stage 4 drops down to 60-70, and stage 5 just becomes unplayable at 10-25 fps, then, I tp on stage 5 and the moon is back up to 100 fps, stage 6, 7, 8, all fine, then it goes back down for 9 and 10. Most of my runs end up failing at stage 5 because I can barely move my character. I have tried all lowest settings, playing without fullscreen, setting the game priority to high, verifying the game files, and nothing has worked (I have tried a bunch of different things but cant think of them all right now). I play mostly on modded which is where the lag can be a little worse than vanilla but both see the same lag spikes (I only use mods like autosprint, better ui, and small game tweak mods that shouldnt be causing lag). Please let me know how to fix this because the game is almost unplayable

if it doesn't happen in vanilla then it's mods problem, try to turn some of them off and see who's causing it

but since it happens on vanilla too ig it could be hardware related

I seem to land on the same spot I was. Server "shows up" but only in lan, and I get this "Warning: wrong connectionId in received user packet" when I pull up the server on my Steam game server browser

So, still with the server thing. I managed to stop the "wrong connectionid" error by copying the pinned config to all cfg files in the server

Now, my friend sees this in the Steam "Game Servers" app, but still not in the game lobbies list. And it only shows up if I join the server, not if the server is just running

Just to be clear, he still can't connect. When inspecting the server, latency throws "Failed" somehow, and can't connect

Okay, just to clarify, the CPU (or sometimes just called processor) is an intel core i3 from what you said, but the core i3 line has around a dozen different generations of the CPU

So, it'd be more helpful if we knew the gen of your CPU

Either way, it does sound like your laptop might not be powerful enough for RoR2

I have a big problem. I love risk of rain 2 and have almost 90hrs on it and when i was loading mods to use to join a lobby my ror2 crashed and did not even start. All it gave me was a unity error message pops up. I tried vanilla and launched it every way possible and it still did not work and gave me the same error window. At this point I've done everything but totally reset my user acc, uninstall steam (as it would be such a pain due to my library), and reset computer. I have uninstalled ror2 mod manager, replaced the config file, uninstalled and reinstalled the game like 20 times now, tried to reinstall with out steam cloud enabled, enabled and disabled dlc, have done a complete fresh reinstall of it, etc. I have been trying for hours and hours to research this problem in the past 2 weeks and have not found anything that helped. I am wondering if there is anything else I can do. Please help I wanna play fr fr.

Two things, first, you can back up all your steam games/installation stage before a total re-install, even across a fresh Windows installation

But before any of that, I might suggest you make a backup of your user profile, delete it, and launch the game completely fresh. See if that works, and if you can then replace the user profile to recover your data

Recently switched graphics cards to a 3080 and I get really bad performance in ror2. Theres pretty big delay and GPU usage is full even in the menu

if yes, there is a issue with that, you need to unplug ur second monitor before launching the game and you can replug it after, i don't think there is a fix for that for now but in the future i guess it will
