Also they claim the timer is only active while a cell is active but people are reporting it's just always on
it meant there was a permanent consequence to going there even if you only did 1 cell and left immediately, so there was incentive to tough it out for more loot even if the waves got harder
probably causes a ton of issues with path of the colossus routing though

it really caught me off guard, was just chilling on a drizzle run and went in trying to get a quick red and just died between cell one and two since i had only got two fungus and not a lof of movement items
really feels like it makes it a LOT less worth it to go there at all

dunno, it seems like the items are overall a lot more in line with pre-sots items, compared to how they were. Not perfect but neither was the base game lol
antler being "worse" hardly matters honestly, it's got such a big head start over hoof that it takes like 9 stacks for hoof to actually start being better, and at that point you'd probably have more than enough move speed anyway
the lantern nerf was very weird though, no disagreement there

the base speed stacking was the problem, that was what made it entirely better than goat hoof
12 seconds, and it resets each time you pick up an orb
it's pretty easy to keep it going

Collapse feels trash when I use it but the enemies collapse is....er
compared to bleed it deals more damage up front, but stacks worse
Should you get more than one armor plate...or any?
collapse is good on survivors like Acrid who get a lot of low-damage procs but don't always follow up on them, it really shines when it's capitalizing on random small bits of aoe damage
also good on survivors with heavily lopsided proc rates like bandit or flamethrower arti
plate is great early on for countering small damage ticks like burn, lesser wisps, stone titan beams etc., but it falls off hard past stage 5 when there's no such thing as a small amount of damage

and if you've got shatterspleen with decent crit chance, tick is always worth it unless you're railgunner or loader
y not huntress in tritip? isnt she also a very proc based survivor?
because she can also work well with collapse, her proc rates aren't the best and she does have aoe with glaive
plus her autoaim doesn't always like to stick to one target if there are a bunch of enemies grouped up
also my question is: as a melee like loader or false son, (even in general) should i expect myself to at least be able to tank some dmg like the fireball volley for a ELDER lemurian or do u just play super safe? like ill be chilling and get hit by a close range fireball and get cooked. it that just lack of defensive items sometimes or i was just gonna die regardless
melee characters can usually tank a little more than normal, but you shouldn't be expecting to just eat all five lem fireballs to the face
i was just trying out a stupid build with my friend but it just catches me off guard sometimes so i did have less defensive items than a normal run
at the very least keep circlestrafing enemies up close so that they can't hit you, most enemies have limited turn speed.
But ideally you should take advantage of the high mobility that melees usually have, or whatever else they've got in their kit

loader barely qualifies as a melee character if you're not playing her as a brawler, she's more like a ranged character but you play as the projectile
merc's got stuns and iframes for days, and can keep his cooldowns almost nonexistent with good use of expose
Acrid always has ranged options and can afford to stay at a distance until you see a good opportunity, use leap to get in and out of fights quickly
FS needs to rely on circlestrafing a little more but his damage output is so ridiculously high that he can usually brute force his way through fights, just save a dash so you can escape if needed

there really aren't a lot of items that will let you tank frequent damage
tougher times works but it's unreliable
RAP works but only for small hits

I usually find that when I need barrier, I don't have it, and if I have it, I don't need it
because if I need it, it's probably because I'm not killing things and getting overwhelmed.

extra m2 stocks are great because of all the benefits they give him, extra laser duration is great because the laser is strong already and more duration makes it even stronger

the shrine was the easy part, the problem is that it was very common on stage 1 and very rare everywhere else. So if you didn't wanna go there from stage 1, you just had to hope for good rng to get there
there were a few other ways to get there, but all of them were rng-dependent

i've tested ingame and know the "ratio" now for gold <-> xp tho i don't know what it was before
I think it was a chest worth of money would convert to 1/8th of a level
1st stage you need 4 barrel to lvl up meaning 4 times 8G + 4xp and you need 204G to lvl up.
8x4=36
204-36=168
4x4=16
168/16=10.5
So on stage 1 : each 1xp is equal to 10.5 gold and vis versa
tho time and subsequent lvl demande more gold/xp.

So the 10% nerf from the first damage is outweight by the proc of item from the delayed tick
warped echo works with just about everything in the game that reduces damage

yea it used to be bugged because it didnāt change your acceleration so youād slide around

tried to get as high as i could landed on a 11 stack and was fine
11 stack is still a lot lower than it used to be
11 buffs with 3 nectar is about 52% stat increase
8 buffs with 2 nectar before was a 112% stat increase
considering its a multiplier, thats a GIGANTIC difference
the reason why the sliding felt so noticeable is because the speed increase was so huge comparatively

The unfortunate thing about nectar is that it's worse (or at least before the patch) on railgunner because her passive converted crit chance to crit damage before the nectar could buff it
And to be fair, I haven't actually gotten the nectar in a run since the patch so I can't say how it even feels to have now

Unstable is an a fair point now. I would prefer it with a longer cooldown, like 60s or 90s instead of once per stage with it's current effects but it wouldn't be the end of the world if it stayed as is
And additional stacks could increase the time of the teleport area around you or increase barrier health
So you can't stack to reduce the cooldown to silly levels
It took over 47 or something to get it below 8 seconds before

If I had to guess they'll only show up in the shop if there's a corresponding path of Colossus stage to go to, and since path of Colossus only has a stage 2, 3, and 4, it'll probably only show up in the bazaars after stages 1, 2, or 3
So far I've found 7 different locations
None of them inside the bazaar itself and all of them able to be seen and destroyed while standing still in specific locations
You just gotta look REALLY hard for some of them
How do I figure out how to get a god run going? I tried to do the 20 stages with no lunar items challenge for Commando. I set the game to easy and used artifact of Command, Sacrifice, Swarm, and I picked up all repulsion armor plates and razorwire. Made it to stage 15 or 16 before dying. Looking for a build or builds that are stronger than that as I'm new to the game.
If you haven't unlocked all the items yet, you'll probably want to try doing that first to expand the item pool
I'm playing without any expansions currently, and I have unlocked almost all the items available. I just don't know what makes a build extremely powerful, enough to go through 20 stages. Is something focused purely on dps and lifesteal better than all armor plates and razorwire?

Because yeah most items do have diminishing returns
If something gives +20% more damage per stack, that takes you from 100% to 120% on the first stack, which is a 20% increase, but the second only takes you from 120% to 140%, which is only a 17% total increase, and then the next is 14%, and so on
itās moreso because damage ups are multiplicative, but diminishing returns is another good reason
Those are the same reason just worded differently, they're diminishing because they're not multiplicative

because you donāt just stack different items because they donāt have diminishing returns you get different items because each item makes the others better

hello, i heard from a friend that the symbiotic scorpion dlc item is basically useless, because since the enemies have no defense, the buff doesn't apply to them and doesn't make them take more damage, is that true?
he added that it can be a good item against bosses, as they have armor, however, it is useless otherwise

They're right that the enemies don't have armor, but they're wrong about the result bc it can make them have negative armor, which makes them take more damage
It is also better against bosses, but it's not useless against normal enemies
same deal with shattering justice btw
shattering justice is better for burst characters like loader and railgunner scorpion very good for characters like commando nail gun mult and viend
How to get artifacts?
there's a big machine on stage 5 that you have to interact with, either underneath sky meadows or at the top of helminth hatchery.
From there you'll need to input a code that corresponds to an artifact, there'll be one code on a big stone tablet right next to the machine as an example and the rest are hidden throughout the game, usually on similar tablets. Put the code in and it'll take you to a trial where you unlock the artifact

it's alright but it falls off
100 health at level 1 is really good because it's basically doubling your health but 100 health at level 20 is like a 13% increase
plus, enemies will eventually end up scaling faster than you, especially on Monsoon, so defensive items in general end up being less impactful, especially if you're looping and everything kills you in one or two shots anyway

Compared to something like opal, which halves the damage taken (effectively doubling your health), it's not great
Kinda, but it's really high, and attack speed is very jank in this game
it varies a lot, and its effectiveness drops off hard due to rounding issues. If you're picking up syringes and aren't getting any noticeable difference from them, it's probably time to stop
As for what to stack instead once you kinda run out of things you want for white items, watches are good for just straight damage, gasoline is good bc it increases both the radius and the damage so eventually it'll just start hitting the whole map whenever you kill something, and grabbing a key every stage so you get free greens/reds/voids is always nice
sticky bomb is another nice one to stack until you reach the limit for your character given you donāt want to put all your eggs in the watch basket
some enemies do have armor though
golems i think, as well as certain elites
I don't believe that's correct, and wiki says it's only boss monsters
Twisted elites can give their allies armor, but don't have it themselves

a few weeks ago i was messing around with a mod that allows you to configure enemy and survivor stats and surprisingly there are like no enemies with armor, including stuff like stone golems and alpha constructs
tho iirc the stone titan does have 20 armor, and the xi construct has like 15
so yea it's most likely only bosses that get armor, which makes sense since damage reduction on regular enemies would be kind of annoying
I think it was a necessary change, void fields are so good that my friend didnt even want to go there cause he said it felt like cheesing

Burst doing well with like crowbars and kjaros, or total damage things like ATG, while proc does good with chances, like tritip
A lot of it depends on proc coeff (aka chance multiplier) which can also be found on the wiki.gg for every attack
the above can also be found on risk of resources webpage
Like commando shoots fast and has a coeff of 1 so base chance, but viend corrupt beam has a coeff of 0.625 so lower, even though it hits fast

im having difficulty with the new false son laser. i hide behind the pillar but then he walks and just kills me, am i supposed to jump from one pillar to the next while the laser is on me?
Basically yeah
The fact that the laser's origin doesn't move anymore and is outside the arena makes it surprisingly fun and convenient to play around
The laser just locked onto me the moment I wasn't behind a pillar and dealt enough damage to trigger transmitter before I got to the next
How are you supposed to avoid damage?
By getting behind cover, simple as that
And the new laser gives you plenty of time for it, really, especially since son disappears while it charges up

Yeah, time stops again once all cells are cleared
The laser increases in damage the longer itās in use, regardless of whether it hits you or not. As for dodging, idk

if you have 20 sticky bombs (100%) but you use an attack with a less than 1 proc coefficient does it then proceed to get affected by purity or is it like 100% crit? Because I heard if you have 100% crit then the proc coefficient doesnt matter?

So I wanted to fight Twiptwip with my buddy and after a few runs trying and testing, I noticed that Beads of Fealty simply do not spawn in multiplayer. Or at least they don't seem to. I even used the ol trick of infinite lunar coins to reroll dozens of times per Bazar and never saw a single Beads of Fealty while playing multiplayer
Then I searched about this on the wiki and even on google, and there is 0 information online if the beads are disabled on multiplayer. So I'm not even sure of what's happening

Donāt kill the crabs, just use the cube to send em off
And avoid items or drones that automatically attack or could otherwise unintentionally kill the crabs

Also, every time you swing your sword it counts as an ability, so attack speed helps too

So I've been playing for a while, but whenever I go to sundered grove or abyssal depths the legendary chest spawn locations get replaced with a pressure plate thing. I was wondering what it does? After hitting the three pressure plates on sundered grove it says "You notices vines twisting and growing", but nothing happens that I've noticed. It's not caused by artifact of sacrifice, as I've been trying. I'm completely lost as to what it does.

The gold altars it talks about seem to be almost non existent
just go to the bazaar a lot, it tends to crop up there often
gold altars ARE basically nonexistent before looping
even after looping it's incredibly rare
the second best way is to do POTC normally, halcyon shrines can spawn in reformed altar or treeborn colony that take you to gilded coast

Only while moving your mouse? My friend had a similar issue for some other games, he ended up having to reinstall his drivers. If not, they probably just need an update.

Just an idea, if you hit ctrl + alt + ~ you can enable the dev console, maybe try opening it while in the multiplayer menu to see if anything weird pops up? Might give a clue as to what's going on.
Also, turn crossplay off if you haven't already. I've never heard of it causing this issue specifically, but istg 90% of problems on PC can be solved by turning off crossplay
and if all else fails #ror2-tech-support might be able to help (check pins first), but responses there are usually pretty slow

really it doesn't matter what character you play since crabs naturally run away from you, you just need to chase them off. It just goes a little faster if you have a knockback ability
although I wouldn't really recommend engineer since turrets or spider mines could easily kill crabs accidentally if you're not careful

with tricorn you have to deal damage to the boss at least once first for it to count though (it works that way with arti's version of the achievement at least)

movement speed is all additive and attack speed is complicated due to animation jank
this is all off the top of my head, but like on Commando, you don't actually go up by 15% attack speed per syringe
it makes jumps at certain intervals and eventually just caps
1612.5% attack speed and 1515% move speed
it's just 215 * 7.5 and 7 respectively, lol
also yeah, attack speed is wonky and 215 mochas is definitely way past the AS cap for any ability

Voidling is sorta designed around looping considering how huge its health pool is and that decent mobility is pretty much a hard requirement, but you don't need to do THAT many.
you can technically do it preloop too if you know what you're doing, it's just gonna be a slog. But you do at least need enough mobility to do the parkour sections

depends on how your run is going, really. If you're killing most things with little to no effort then you're probably more than strong enough to take on any of the final bosses, but exactly how long that takes is gonna depend on luck and skill.
Hello, I like the new false son fight, and I'm one of the rare people that liked SOTS before any balancing was done, but I'm just wondering, how are you supposed to deal with the laser, and false son at the same time? I feel like every time I manage to dodge the laser it just lets false son punt me into oblivion but if I focus on dodging false son, then the laser does me in. What is the intended strategy? It feels like there's no way to avoid them both at the same time.

it's stages so i'd assume it's every 10 simulacrum waves since that's when it spawns a portal to the next stage

depends on how quickly you loot stages tbh but imo stages are faster
but it recharges every stage, and gives barrier instead of health
