they dont really die if you stay away in p1 p2
and when theyre dying on p3, thats their job so
i only really observe them dying easily to black hole
but if your gameplan is to use no resources p1 p2 and then elixir dios seed of life etc resource dump on phase 3, if you dont really have a good method for the homing shots, drones buy extra time in the same way
stage rng is also pretty important actually, some maps on p3 all this is kinda irrelevant you just have enough cover lol
man even with good cdr it can be weird af sometimes, the homing shots circle you while in evis lmao ready to try to gank you as you leave
well uhh anyways tl;dr i dont think voidling is that well designed of a fight, but theres still a lot of counterplay / builds / strats, more than its reputation. give that boss some stuff like laser walls or glowing meteors or ramp up the natural enemies / tone down the homing then maybe we're talking
Ngl I think voidling would've been more fun if it could spawn on normal stages (with no extra phases and more reasonable health ofc)
i should mention if ur plan is to kinda resource dump all 3 phases cuz ur build worked out like that
going close is best, you get more laser spins which is free dps / hp restock etc
But the sheer size of it would be a cool setpiece, and its moveset feels more like a normal tp boss anyway

attacks like this would be pizzawheel esque in that its dodgable with 0 speed if u can predict and read the rotation well, but still a threat if you have speed, etc
same even with false son meteor spam, if you just have enough meteors spread out, high speed builds if you arent careful ur just gonna run into one, but 0 speed can still dodge carefully

- make sure you both have crossplay turned off
- if either of you is running any mods, either disable them or share them so that you're both running the same ones
*specifically mods that aren't clientside. client-only mods like lookingglass are fine

it is, but I wouldn't take it unless you plan on looping
the instakill is a nice safety net if your damage ends up sucking later on, but early it's better to just have crit chance imo

5% damage buff and also only applies if you hit the weak spof
mostly crit gives consistent bonus but outside of like railgunner etc, its value mostly shifts just by in comparison to other items, and thats usually whats important when you have to make choice between crit and some other damage white in a trishop
for instance -- a crit glasses will make both mult nailgun and commando m1 do 10% more damage. but a sticky bomb is 9% for commando and only 5.4% for mult due to proc coefficient
and well in and of themselves, the other dmg% whites do more on theyre own but have conditions -- like focus crystal is 20% but only in melee. well melee survivors dont mind that at all
and well acrid etc their poison can get amped by dmg% but the poison cant crit. but then as u go lategame as acrid more and more damage is from item delivery service, but those items can crit
and of course worth noting the crit specific interactions like shatterspleen or predatory etc
in practice though even for survivors where crit is a little weaker or a little stronger, you still want a mix of items anyways to take advantage of how items are multiplicative with each other

there's a setting that lets you inspect items for more detailed descriptions, but what you probably want is the LookingGlass mod

literally anything but primarily health
False son is the one character that can benefit from basically anything
his m1 deals 1500% damage with 3.0 proc so he works with burst and proc items

Bands? Slam
Health items? Growth
The one exception is transcendence do not take it on false son
Even bison steak is decent on him
bison steak goes from useless to 1-2 growth stacks which is pretty nice
Don't print steaks though they fall off
He's also one of the only survivors that can take stone flux without being totally crippled

Use the scope shots more. Railgunner and simulacrum arent really beginner friendly. Simulacrum also doesnt have an ending and doesnt really make you learn or unlock much
And dont be disappointed about dying, its entirely normal to lose many times before you learn how to deal with the threats of this game

The splitting the damage up into multiple hits doesn't do much, but the 30% damage reduction isn't bad, it's a bit less than opal and has a longer cooldown but it applies to things like void cradles and blood shrines while opal doesn't

so in that sense mags are the best for increasing needle stock past a point
the hp itself is also good from steaks or etc, since the needles also give armor when unused, making each point of hp more valuable, etc

yeah the expose transfer tech gets progressively harder to time the more attack speed you get. it's not bad to start though
and you can go to false son on the first loop but bc you fight him on stage 4 it's kinda hard to have enough items to actually win on the first loop
it kinda looks like a multishop with only 2 terminals and a wider section in the middle in a little crater on the ground

uhh maybe? I don't remember the exact number, but the expose tech gets less necessary as a run goes on and you get more aoe items so in practice you don't really need to worry about it
just lots of expose chaining and iframe abuse, and also positioning. if you're having problems with survivability blinding/evisc is a bit safer
i prefer focused evis
is giving an equipment drone royal capacitor a bad idea
when the blinding charges are up you arent gonna die, but double expose on m1 extend focused makes you have so little downtime

just repulsion armor is usually enough if you use alt m2 though

after like 10 seconds of dmg or something?
mind you a 10 second iframe + nuke is still really strong, especially if u rely on heals for 10 then rely on ball barriers after
but if u want to basically break the game, focus on getting the dmg per tick to 1
plates are the best way for that, buckler reduces plates needed especially if ur high level or used solitude, but way the armor works, you always need plates
if not looping 7-8 plates alone is always gonna do the trick
If you don't want it then nah it's pretty good, it'll just hit random things for a decent amount of damage
Easiest way to think about it is 1 plate for every 100 health

at the very least smoke bomb and stealthkit makes it miss if you keep moving, without it the laser instatracks you perrfectly
so quite good to keep it around

There's not a lot of ways to actively support other players, but getting stuff like bustling fungus and playing with stationary turrets can kind of fill that role

bubble shield or bungus turrets are pretty supportive but in general there are no support characters, only support builds

There's no guarantee of a golden shrine, although you can dream of the gilded coast in the newts bazaar, and halcyon shrines can def spawn in loops

It's actually not that bad at all. Pretty easily done with nano bomb and a crowbar printer
If you want to do it really easily do it with artifact of glass
You can also use stuff like preon accumulator or the lightning thing. Also stuff like delicate watches, shaped glass lunar

I think sojourn deals 550%, gains 20% per second and then deals 110% of those combined together upon explosion, if that's what you mean

sotv and sots makes looping much better but void items are cracked so id say sotv a little more so than sots
Also I recommend both, havent gotten the sotv dlc yet cuz I am waiting on phase 2 and eventually phase 3 roadmap but I have interacted with the items through prismatic trials and can confirm they're very fun, also peak stage design and music

I am trying to start a game with a friend but for some reason he cannot join any multiplayer game nor even start a single player game.
No lobbys in search for multiplayer, for some context we just downloaded the games
We have tried verifying the game files along with reinstalling the game
checked fire wall security to make sure it was receiving a internet connection
everything has been checked off the list yet the problem of not being able to join any game is still there,\
has anyone came across and did yall find the solution?
if you both just downloaded the game, turn off crossplay, it’s the first setting and it fucks things up

there are some messages pinned in #ror2-tech-support which may help if that doesn’t work. If not then you could try sending a message there

No, if they are normally locked like most other interactables during the tp event but if one is inside the zone, it can be activated and a portal will spawn once the event finishes

generally the ones that dont require gimicks (like how medkit is for 3 seconds after dmg) will be better, being constant
basically anything that gives a positive status effect will work, including the off-cooldown "buff" from stuff like bands
so what all is included in the two DLC packs? i have the base game but i have almost never played it, someone gifted it to me a long time agol. i just got a steam deck last week and thought this game would be good to play on that but i'm not sure if i should get the dlc or not
the dlcs are basically just more of everything
they both have a ton of new items, new survivors, maps, enemies, bosses, etc..
Survivors of the Void also includes a new item tier and gamemode, and some other mechanics
I'd say try the game out first and decide if you like it, the dlcs are fun but not necessary
and if you do get the dlc's I'd recommend starting with SotV

honestly nah, the singleplayer is perfectly fine
if anything multiplayer is a little lackluster, it's not bad but it tends to feel more like multiple singleplayer runs happening at the same time rather than true co-op
but if you do wanna do mp, #lfg-pc-ror2 might be better than joining randoms. I pretty much always play solo but people in this server are pretty chill

There's aim assist I believe in the settings, if that's your concern
nah, boomerang is pretty sweet
not the highest damage on its own, but it makes up for it with the amount of procs it gets

survivors of the void because railgunner and void fiend are really good survivors
SotS is alright but still has some issues, and the content in SotV just adds a lot more depth overall with void items
also I think they go on sale whenever the main game does, which is usually during major steam sales

#1 thing would just be to try to get as much loot as you can and don't rush straight to the teleporter
a good rule of thumb is to fully loot stages and try to get at least one item per minute, with a little extra time set aside for using printers and scrappers and the like
Don't start with commando, huntress is more beginner friendly and so is railgunner if you get the dlc since you need specific builds to make commando viable, also don't be embarrassed that you die a lot the first time around, you need to get used to the game and should not expect to win until much more hours have been put in
Also every fourth stage has a guaranteed red/red chest on the map
Commando is very beginner friendly because he has a basic kit that works with most items in the game, so you can learn to play the game instead of trying to learn a character at the same time
I would save RG for after you start winning a few runs or you feel comfortable with how all the items and enemies work
Bandit is beginner friendly as well, and also very strong
Nah while I agree with commando being beginner friendly, if you're used to sniping in other shooters rg is valid
I do wish commandos alts were his base kit because it'd make him feel even more like a basic fps character
Commando is defo easy but huntress has auto aim, better mobility and works more universallh than commando, commando NEEDS bleed or other on hit items to really shred enemies and can struggle without proper items if you get unlucky, but yeah what the other guy said rg is very easy to use and very op

it's really personal preference! When I'm trying to chill out and play the game, I like Sacrifice and Swarms.
Sacrifice makes it so that there's no chests, and instead enemies drop items.
Swarms doubles the amount of enemies that appear, but halves their base health
Command can be cool for stacking items, but it can become a hassle as the game progresses

Dissonance is cool it makes enemies spawn on maps they don't normally spawn on
devotion is also neat

try to hover around 75% corruption so you can quickly heal or go corrupt when you need to

ill also add on, i see some people only save corruption for tp, but especially for weaker runs
its absolutely fine and very good to enter corruption to deal with swarm, dangerous elite, start of stage swarms, etc
enter corruption earlier and you can look into trimming down the horde substantially
if you enter when its already a complete mess, you won't be able to play as aggressively even with the damage reduction
uncorrupted state is pretty good for safe dps at range, with no falloff and a built in source of healing, but on a weak run you might just see yourself losing the dps vs spawn war. need to liberally corrupt to keep numbers down. the less threats the safer it is to corrupt, and the safer it is to corrupt the more aggressively you can play to kill, which means less enemies, etc
what's a good amount of bead buff stacks to scrap it on
depends, i usually scrap at the end of stage 3 or 4 if there is a scrapper
always scrap after tp
unless you're really desperate
20 stacks is usually a good place to stop, it's about 3-4 levels worth of stats
the buffs take longer and longer to get the more of them you have, just like regular levels. And it's a flat stat increase per stack
the only real reason to keep hanging onto beads is to try to get more stacks of the item itself, which does slightly increase the stats you get when you scrap it afaik
(which I think is slightly more optimal than scrapping one stack and then building up another? Hopefully someone can correct me on that if I'm wrong, I haven't run the exact numbers myself lol)
I think it's like 5% per stack it's better to scrap then farm another quickly if possible

If we're assuming you're able to keep the buffs constantly, then if you already have 1 antler then yeah a hoof is better than a second one
But that first antler offers so much that if we're talking only taking goat hooves vs only taking antlers, antlers stay ahead until you have 18 of each
More stacks of antlers also makes the orbs spawn more frequently which makes it easier to keep the buff up tho which is harder to directly compare
for raw max speed, antler still starts better but hoof actually catches up

It's possible to do in 3 stages, the fight in general is just meant to be difficult I think
and they did make halcyon shrines way more common on stage 1, so fighting it that early is probably intended (although you can also do it later if you want)

also since you're on mando absolutely try to learn what items are best on him since he's one of the more item-dependent survivors overall

if you find a printer for a proc item it might be worth trading some of your current items for it
items are you how get stronger, you'll never outrun the timer no matter how fast you go
also, the difficulty ramps up by 15% for every stage you complete, so you really wanna make the most of each one

bleed does a fixed amount of damage (240% base) over 3 seconds, but every time a stack is applied, that timer resets and the damage increases. It's very strong on survivors that can get a lot of rapid procs focused on one enemy, such as
, but is pretty much useless for slow heavy hitters that can't stack it quickly and don't care about the small amount of flat damage like

sticky bomb is easier, it does total damage, meaning it's a % of the hit that procced it. Total damage procs are good on basically everybody, including heavy hitters, because it scales with the strength of their attacks even though they won't proc it as often
and crit is more or less comparable to sticky bomb, it's just a chance to double the damage of a hit. Again, good on basically everyone (except railgunner, her passive makes crit a lot worse)
Bandit also is better off using item real estate elsewhere

Sticky bombs do more raw damage than crit but crit always boosts your procs while a lot of procs have a pitiful chance to trigger a sticky
Most enemies don't have an m2 so you should be OK just watch out
ehh, it might be fine, most enemies don't use their secondary skill much. Usually it's just a melee attack so keep them at a distance
and some don't have a secondary at all, it just depends on the enemy

How often should I scrap reds?...I really dislike certain ones...and do headstompers scale well?
headstompers is extremely strong
the aoe caps out at 10,000% damage with a 100m radius, provided you can get enough height to use it. And even if not, it can be a very strong burst
and scrapping reds is very situational, there aren't a lot of cases where you actually get to use red scrap. The main one is usually just the white item soup on the moon, since red printers are extremely rare. Usually I'd only scrap them if it's something that'd be useless against mithrix, like 
(which is sad because meat hook is really good 😔 )

enemies will always outscale your damage, you can't just pick up one thing and have that single-handedly carry you for the rest of the run, if that's what you mean.
You counter the scaling by picking up different items so that they build on your existing ones

does the void dlc make the void fields fog damage ramp up over time? recently got the dlc and i could've sworn it didn't do that before
nope, that was changed in the update today
along with some other rebalances to void fields, and a bunch of other stuff
wow that's brutal
was confused since i looked on the wiki and it didn't say anything about it, guess it's not up to date yet lol
yeah, the update happened less than 24 hours ago lol
