since you have artifact of command, you can try to find an orange barrel to get a util to fly around somehow

The thing is, I got a run where I had insane dps (thanks to some lunar item that doubles dmg but halves health) and I killed the granparent in a few seconds, but mithrix insta-killed me in one attack

that was advice from like early access release. but items keep getting stronger /buffed, recycler/card were added, scrappers were added, more printers, a lot of old stages had less items, etc. theres more stuff to do per stage and grabbing out of the way items are more worth now
Yeah, the better method is to leave the stage with more items than minutes
Quality also matters though, like it's very good to manage and get more strong items at the cost of time
Turning 5 items into kjaros on loader is a +0 item, but a huge boost in power
also survivor buffs too, like release artificer had pretty bad coefficients, meaning a lot of items were worse and not worth the time. that and most proc items werent total dmg% so they werent great on arti anyways (and bands were just proc items so haha arti)
and also decent items today like helfire tincture for instance, well on release repulsion plates and planula or whatever werent even in the game, so. or i mean old headstompers were bugged, frost relic was trash, nearly all the healing items were flat and bad,
yea, back then though bands were just %chance to proc items that didnt have insane synergies like that. or even for attack speed characters, bleed wasnt like something that could carry your build, it was flat and couldnt stack and was pretty mediocre. the best way to instantly get strong was like a sticky bomb printer tbh
yeah there have definitely been more buffs than nerfs
the only drastic nerf I can think of is sticky bomb tbh, at least for like MulT

for slug, it increases regeneration which is unaffected by corpsebloom, for the others it’s a little more complicated.
Essentially, corpsebloom stores the healing you gain and spits it back out doubled in chunks of a maximum of 10% healing, so it essentially will give the healing over a longer timeframe. It’s actually really useful for bungus because you can “store” a bunch of healing and you still get that healing once you start moving again

I've been playing some Artificer recently but it's been really weird having to use all double jumps before gliding, and not having the choice to not double jump and go straight into the glide. Is there any way to change that?

I believe there is a mod called Risk of Option that enhances your settings with additional customization options. One of its features allows you to change Artificer's hover from toggle to hold, making it easier to avoid unintentionally triggering double jump instead of a hover in most situations. I hope this helps! (I may be mistaken about the exact mod, but it's a dependency mod, so it will automatically be added to your list when you download any related mods)

Tbf it is worse in vanilla bc in the modded version it stays on after using ion surge while in vanilla it deactivates after ion surge and you have to reactivate it which is much more annoying
There's also a mod to just fix that called jethack tho
So it was an only modded version option before it got added to the game!
I did some research and apparently it doesnt interfere with his slam since it's a combined input. I haven't tried it for myself yet. I'll make an update tomorrow after testing it

they basically function like another player in multiplayer, they have their own "wallet" and any gold they gain from killing enemies gets shared with the whole team. Roll of pennies only gives gold to the person holding it though, so engie doesn't gain any direct benefit from that

It should be blacklisted but I straight up nearly killed voidling during the parkour phase when I barely had any gold so I assumed all the turrets got war bonds and nuked him
so I can just kill that enemy for more gold than usual

it can proc and benefits from multipliers, and since it does %health damage, a few stacks of ap rounds is all it takes for it to reliably kill any boss in the game

I think max fall damage is 2x your max health so 2 opals should let you live but it'd still deal like 70% of your health
And you'd barely survive with 1 opal and some other defensive items
shields help a lot with soaking up fall damage too

on late stages like that, there's only so much you can do to fix lag, besides like... buying a better computer, lol.
Just in general turning all the graphics settings down will help, the menu actually tells you which things have the most gpu/cpu impact. Turning corpse cleanup to immediate and turning off gold/exp effects also helps
#ror2-modding would be the place to ask about mods, but just running mods in the first place has a performance impact, so optimization mods don't usually help much beyond getting better performance with other mods.

Easiest way to get there tho is always gonna be looking for path of Colossus stages in the newt shop after stages 1 or 2, or gilded coast after 1, 2, or 3 (or the loop variants of the same)

one, lunar affliction exists as an item so no, ben's raincoat can't affect it in anyway

Tonic affliction is a grey tier item that gets added to your inventory, not a debuff nor equipment. However, it does NOT take effect while you're under the influence of the tonic again.
So if you make it have permanent uptime with gesture of the drowned, afflictions won't do anything except maybe for the beggining of the stage

base damage is a stat that scales with your level, for most survivors it's 12 (+2.4/lvl). Anything dealing base damage will be a percent of that stat.
Total damage is exclusively used by on-hit effects, and is a percentage of the hit that procced it
so like luminous shot would take whatever damage your primary deals and then deal 175% of that amount per bolt
oh, so if my M1 deals 1500% damage, the luminous shot would deal 175% of said damage?

it's also based on the amount BEFORE adding damage multipliers like focus crystal or watch, but procs can still benefit from multipliers if they still meet the condition when they actually hit

yeah, that's a thing that can happen
he has a single frame where he's not immune to damage at the very start of phase 4, so if you're lucky you can hit him on that frame and kill him, or at least stagger him out of the item steal animation

they should count afaik, but run history has literally never worked properly lol
maybe it takes a while to update in stats? because I used to think it wouldn't count them if I defeated voidling, because my only win with false son was when I escaped the planetarium and run history said fate unknown

health regen also doesn't count as healing, so natural regen or cautious slug are fine

…besides on REX. That one kinda stands out as an obvious reason to take ATG.
if you have clover atg is much better. If your character has a high proc rate like mando or MULT, or you have a >1 proc coefficient like RG it’s also worth considering. Also if you’re just not very good at dodging AtG will probably be better.
Personally I think in all scenarios other than with rex and clover that shrimp is better, but people will disagree with me on that.

simu is a lot simpler since there's no time management, I wouldn't say there's any real trick to it but anything related to combat in the base game still applies.
Mainly just stay moving as much as possible and learn which enemies to prioritize. Ideally you circestrafe around groups of enemies, but even just strafing back and forth and jumping is enough to throw off enemies' aim.
AoE items like
are especially strong, and try to get some decent form of healing as soon as possible if your survivor doesn't have a built-in heal.
is particularly good for going out into the fog

afaik clay templars don't have any stocks on their rapid fire so they could theoretically fire infinitely, they just don't
The wiki just says within 10-75 meters with line of sight will cause them to shoot for 2s, which i believe should be repeated unless the conditions fail. If it was nonstop shooting and you were in the safe range, it may have thought it had sufficient line of sight, or if you were well and hidden my other guess would be mapping jank or desync yea

You have to prioritise movement speed items on him. Then try to transcend his poison and melee damage to some items or equipments. Like shurikens, capacitor, crowdfunder just to get out of the melee range and apply poison. FMP builds work great on him

Rex isn't bad
While we don't know the intentions of the devs rexs default kit is incredibly good
his kit does suffer from a lot of antisynergies though, specifically with items that lose their effect when taking damage
Which items if you say watch just like don't be dumb with his self damage?
slug, shields, opal, safer spaces, echo, plasma shrimp
elixir and watch aren't a hard antisynergy but it is easier for him to lose them by accident
slug you dont need, shields asw, opal spaces and plimp are valid though
rex has like the least amount of reason to use slug no matter the loadout

his alt secondary and alt utility are both worth getting, his alt special is really bad though. but really his defaults are good
his alt secondary doesnt hurt him and creates a small continous aoe wherever you aim it. his alt utility hurts him but also hurts enemies and heals you for every enemy hurt

enemy cooldowns -50% sounds really hard
Yeah it's one of the most impactful modifiers
grandparents and vagrants will also spam their big AoEs a lot more
it's a fun modifier once you get used to it though, imo
Oh yeah vagrants won't be too bad but if you are having a bad run grandparents can just become a timesink
yeah, you just need to pay extra attention to them
if you're used to the normal timing they can definitely throw you off
it might even be worth avoiding siren's entirely if you're willing to spend coins on seers, the stage already kinda sucks and e7 awu is a huge pain in the ass if you don't have a way to kill it easily
the only real reason to go there at all is if you're in multiplayer and want the extra reds, but even that probably isn't worth it on e7

Usually pylon afaik, it helps with movement and dealing with wisps while slam just kinda does what your charged punch already does

As it turns out, you don't really need any items to go to the Void as captain, all you need is a bit of parkour ;) Just to be clear, there's 1 fall that's pretty difficult to get, which is at 34 seconds in the video. There isn't really a good resource for builds (besides just asking people in this discord, I guess)
But builds in ror2 aren't really complicated enough to need it, in a normal run it's actually best to just mix a bunch of different items since they'll naturally build off of each other.
A full-auto scope that deals less damage (400%) but shoots much faster and doesn't need to reload.
It's technically a little worse than default in terms of overall dps but it's still strong on its own, and it does have way better attack speed scaling

Nah
The longer cooldown cancels out any extra dps you might get from having more shots, and it's more downtime where your turrets can't defend themselves

yeah, if you're spamming that many projectiles at him with the right timing, you probably have decent odds of hitting it

kjaro's is the only one I know of, usually lingering hitboxes just check for targets at set intervals
it depends per-person tbh but i personally prefer default grapple since it allows you to do this
spiked is still good but i'd say it complements thunder punch more than charged punch since with charged punch you usually wanna use your grapple for getting as much speed as possible
and that isn't rlly a possibility when grappling the smaller enemies pull them towards you instead of you towards them

spiked gauntlet can also make enemies out of range of crowbar hits which is pretty important to loader gameplay

and checking for targets isn't the same as actually dealing damage
like, kjaros hitbox looks for a target every frame, but once it finds one it starts dealing damage on set intervals like other lingering hitboxes do

Well there is a similar thing on commencement where there is a weird rock object thats not found anywhere else in the game, located inside the pillar the mithrix arena sits on which is also speculated to be an event trigger for the mithrix fight
If it was a bug where the event trigger was accidentally visible you would think that it would've been replicated already but malachite lem hasn't had any luck

hi im sort of new at this game but I unlocked one of huntress's abilities as well as the artifact of command and they keep dissapearing after I reunlock them at first I thought I needed to unlcok them indivisually for singleplayer and multiplayer but even after doing that they just keep disappearing once I reopen my game does anyone know why this happens? are they single use case
That is a bug. Once you unlock something it should be permanent

I'm noob, and need help with an artificer item (default m1, alt m2, default utility, default special) because I feel like I do no damage 4th stage forward. I can one shot minibosses because of bands but other than band's damage I have nothing. I'm trying to beat the game in moonsoon (with command artifact, I dont have fun with the rng) and have every item non-dlc unlocked (and the one to chase crabs)

Get different damage items besides just bands. Items tend to build on each other, so it's best to get a mix of things instead of focusing on just one or two items
Also loot stages thoroughly and don't rush, get as many items as you can

It might still be crossplay related even in singleplayer, it's just that broken.
Unfortunately there's no way to turn it off if you're on epic, all crossplay really does is make the game connect through epic's netcode instead of steam, so it's on by default on egs.

Transcendence hard sets your max hp to 1, so anything that wants to use or modify your max hp, like pearls or infusion, has to happen before that. Psg references your max hp, so it needs to get set before your health changes.
The only exceptions are things that come at the bottom of the stats calc, like tonic. Tonic is handled all in one place instead of the relevant stats happening in those stats' section, so it's at the end. Meaning it multiplies your shield and hp separately
Since trance basically nukes your normal green health stat when it gets set to 1, things can only reference the 1, or the combined shield health which will be modified by however many trance stacks you have
Also means tonic gives you like 1.5 green health or smth technically 
so even though infusion gains a flat amount of health per kill it still wouldn’t increase your health and just turn it into shield after?

Can someone explain how devotion artifact items stack? I know that shipping request forms go absolutely crazy with it but does every item stack percentages like that or is it just the way that request form works? Like if i give an egg a sonorous whispers, does every other lumerian that has it grant the stack benefit of +1% chance to get an item?
The way it works is sorta like this: When a lem is spawned, the item its given is added to a hidden global inventory. When they level up, they add another stack of that item to the inventory.
Meanwhile every OTHER lem gets a copy of that inventory, similar to how engineer turrets work (although unlike turrets, lems update their inventory any time an item is added or removed, instead of only updating when they spawn). Also for the record I don't know for certain if that's how it's programmed under the hood, but that's functionally how it works.
The reason shipping request form acts the way it does is because the item chances are based on the total number of forms that exist across all inventories at the start of the stage, and since each lem has its own separate copy of it, the game sees it as there being a huge amount of total form stacks so you get insanely high odds.

that would also apply to any other items that have 'global stacking' like lepton daisy, although most of those items are blacklisted on lems, and very few items work that way.
Like for sonorous whispers, if you had 20 lems with one stack of sonorous, each lem would individually only have a 1% chance for an item.

its tied to the body equipmentslot, which turrets dont have. so equipment effects in there, like woodsprite, dont work. but aspects and fuel array either give buffs, are checked elsewhere, or both, so those are fine
the majority of equipment effects are in there so they cant use basically everything, even if its just a passive effect like on woodsprite. i dont rember how seed of life is handled though, i havent looked for it in the code so idk where it falls on that scale

wow that must be horribly weak knockback. The pots currently are bugged to get knocked back like 20 times stronger than they should, making something like rg's default mines launch them so quickly and far that it appears the pots just get instantly deleted. This is like worse knockback than the headbutt of a beetle

LookingGlass is probably what you want, although there's an option in vanilla now called "inspect item" that lets you see better descriptions (not as detailed as lookingglass though iirc)
it's not just weak, it looks like it might even be negative... in that clip the pots get sucked inward and then bounce off of each other

it's good if you get lots of low-damage aoe procs that you don't immediately follow up on, which is pretty much acrid in a nutshell

Engie is the best use case for it, it's less awkward than his own primary and is a dps upgrade for both turrets (although the delayed damage can sometimes leave them vulnerable).
Huntress and I think Railgunner are the only other survivors where it's a straight damage upgrade, but they both have reasons to keep their normal primaries. For everyone else it's usually a downgrade and only worth taking if you're not using your primary much at all

Theres no direct advantage to looping if your end goal is to just kill mithrix and win the run
ehhh not really. they dont dodge or sprint often, their range is really bad (they might just not hit a flying boss), they have slightly less raw dps than normal turrets, they have a 0.6 proc coefficient so they scale worse with many proc items, cant use bungus or abuse wall cheeses,
their sole advantage is like, well they attack faster so if u have enough tritip theyll do better. they also apply a slow so easier death mark. and while they dont really dodge on purpose, they don't get shat on as hard by like mushroom or lunar orb acid circles
i guess they can also pick up monster tooths for themselves more often too? idk
so they’re basically just shittier drones got it

You will generally encounter one of the following 3 scenarios:

Your Build Is Strong, You have sufficient damage, healing, and damage reduction. In this case, looping is unnecessary, as you can defeat Mithrix with your current setup.

Your Build Is Decent. Looping is riskier in this situation. It's best to proceed directly to Mithrix, but take the fight slowly and cautiously.

Your Build Is Weak. If you choose to loop in this situation, there’s a high chance you won’t survive anyway. So your best option is to face Mithrix immediately and pray you can win with what you have.

- Don't loop
- Don't loop

It is kinda true tbh looping is about as dangerous as going straight to mithrix in bad runs though your personal skill may influence how you can handle each situation
I'd also say it depends heavily on how confident you are with the mithrix fight in general, if you know what you're doing you can always beat him
But if you're not confident (either in the fight itself or the strength of your build) then it may be better to loop and hope for something better, since it's really the only way to improve your build at that point, outside of getting very lucky with soups and lunar pods on commencement
Exactly. Whether its due to putting yourself at a higher risk and danger by looping, or just the fact that it gets annoying and boring after a while, i dont like it. But im glad after sots update and the different map varinats, they actually gave players a valid reason to loop
But if you DO choose to loop then you should be ready for commencement itself to be hell

It also depends on your preferred playstyle. If you enjoy building an utterly strong build, where you can eliminate everything effortlessly while being AFK then loop.
However, avoiding loops allows for more diverse builds, keeps you engaged and on your toes throughout the run, and adds an extra layer of challenge. That said, if looping is what makes the game more fun for you, then go for it
i think also type of build matters
if your build has great aoe wisps ukes etc but u know fighting mithrix is gonna be unfun with poor single target, u could try for a loop, see if u can grab some items or a fmp or etc
personally i dont like looping, runs too long
but i still want to see alt stages and malachites and scavs and etc : (

Yeah you can play the game just for the sake of looping. There are specefic contents in looped run. And Eventually your build gets so strong that you can one shot everything.

you can hover under the arena or way high up and surge to dps or to dodge or surge then drop
for instance, buying lots of drones is really good for voidling

its not gonna do much for mithrix, but so many homing shots will go at them
black hole will kill tho
if u can, it can be good to keep money items or even stall phase 2
so you can repair drones for phase 3
for a lot of characters phase 1 and 2 if u go properly u dont need much to dodge
but phase 3 forced to be close you need resources
or for instance, sending stuff for psg or bucklers is pretty good even for chars that dont permasprint
stack some bucklers and your shield will regen even if u dont have enough speed for phase 3 homing
in some sense preparing for voidling is a little more interesting than the fight proper tho i do agree its not great design

but eg for instance, stuff like elixirs dios etc is great for winning p3 dps check if u dont have the speed or tankiness. play sloppily before voidling and you cant use these

absurd damage is one of the least likely ways to win void right after mithrix at least in my experience
i think voidling from fields preloop is cooked though, nahh you dont have enough stages to really craft a build

but maybe ur character/build true long range is super ass or etc and it takes too long
you could look into keeping pennies or ghors to rebuy drones after p2 black hole, even stalling out and focusing on mobs, though time is still ticking so ?
or if youre on like psg / buckler facetank method, stone flux false son, etc, and u dont care for the drones, then do whats faster
