I think everything that buffs move speed also buffs acceleration proportionally, except growth nectar
As in even with stoneflux the ice physics seemingly caused by nectar persist
yea i assumed accel and movespeed were tied directly together
yeah
its in here now, thats for sure
i wonder if this is because it fucked with gravity or smth?.. lol
does this mean that acceleration should automatically get updated by move speed?
I'm not great at reading code lol
yea, and base accel
which i guess is in fact different?..
i always thought it would be weird to have different accel rates but MulT does seem to just have less accel which is interesting
so it's actually really weird that growth nectar doesn't affect it then
commando and acrid are 80 but MulT is reading 30
It's really painful
Arti has different acceleration too
huh, so she does. 40
should i fuck with growth nectar or stone flux or smth while i have the inspector up?
Sure
what do these values even represent, anyway?
acceleration i guess lol
presumably its amount of speed able to be changed in 1s
so 80 would mean 0-80 in 1s? so to go 0-7 would be <0.1s
what r some ez buffs for nectar that arent movespeed themselves lol
i dont rember what CD buffs dont count
uhh any of the cooldown buffs work
oh do they count now? like bands and safer?
bands, safer spaces, echo, fin would give you 4 easy ones
oh shit nice
Tesla, free purchase, cool downs, invisible, ocular HUD, elites, leech
oh shit
wait
i bet its because it comes late in recalc stats
i bet tonic is and has been the same way
it does indeed not appear to update my accel, gaining nectar speed.
yea tonic doesnt either
Looks like I found new jank
hmmm its kinda hard to tell at lower speed values
i dont really feel slidey per se...
or is it the speed loss of stone flux?
and then nectar/tonic would compensate the raw speed but youd stay slidey?
No it's annoying at higher stacks of nectar, you wouldn't notice it without a benthic or looping

that makes perfect sense and its really funny
try it with high stacks of stone flux, it also has some funky effects on acceleration
especially when you sprint and then stop because you keep some of that sprint speed but your accel drops back to base
(iirc I wasn't pressing anything after jumping in these clips, flux is just weird lol)
wait wait how did you go fast
it's an old clip so I don't totally remember lol
literally wheelchair mode
what's the thing you're using to look at the values here?

the fnuy
sprinting should change your slide speed a bit too lol, where sprinting being +accel would make you slow down faster
unity explorer!
it takes some getting used to using, and if you dont know where to look it can be a bit impossible lmao. but if you know what you want to see, and know where to find it (usually coupled with dnspy for me), then its really powerful
i know accel is a value in characterbody so i found the toolbot clone and then its characterbody component, but like finding the entitystate shit to track false son's bugged laser tickrate was very annoying
thats also how i compiled random shit to run ingame earlier for the tougher chance thingy haha
oh neat, I'll have to try to figure that out sometime
its not too awful if you are willing to poke around. you can crash the game if you hit something you shouldnt tho lmao
i crashed quite a few times while learning to use it. probably could have just looked up a guide but im stubborn lol
eh, guides are for the weak
i just intuited what i might want, and clicked around menus to see what would happen
sometimes you see something and think hmmm the game probably wouldnt want to evaluate this twice, i wonder what happens if i just hit evaluate....
oh, it does nothing. or oh, it crashes lol
yeah, that's usually how I do things, lmao
just keep aimlessly poking stuff until it does what I want
Is
alt special worth unlocking
What does it do
You get to rapid fire launch 3 harpoons for 900% each
The consistency is significantly higher, the dps is better, and it gives a good band proc
All Huntress's alts are worth unlocking
Flurry can out-DPS strafe at like 20% crit chance and phase blink lets you dash around without an 8 second cooldown
Ballista is basically required for Huntress to be usable because arrow rain is so bad
Of course however ballista sounds like a pain to get
Not that hard, just bring a friend
Rallypoint Delta has a certain spot way up high, you can get there with the
You fly up there first thing after reaching the stage, your friend does everything else
That's how I got it
what do the flying bug things that beetlequeen spawn do, ive never been in there zone long enough to know
What flying bug things?
I dont recall anything like that
The little AoE does this, it isn't that bad
They have a name in ror 1 but I forget it
archer bugs?
you can use artifact of glass and/or shaped glass to make it easier, the health reduction doesn't matter if you can't get hit anyway
also helps since taking damage to barrier doesn't fail the challenge
it also doesn't have to be stage 3 specifically, just those maps, so you can loop and do it when you're overpowered enough to do it without even trying
If possible, the "easiest" way is
and hoping for an early
to use with the brooches
it's worth the effort for ballista
having drones to draw aggro helps, better yet have
and let them do all the work while you just focus on not getting hit
you wouldn't really need to hope for it with command, would you
The hard part is the orange command essence
Especially if you do sacrifice, it can be hard when you need it
just... find an equipment barrel? they're not exactly rare
true
im probably thinking too much about the big 3 artis all together
if you're using sacrifice it might be annoying, but just farm until you get one ig
It definitely doesn't feel like a 9% drop, but apparently it is
it stacks, so it can get pretty bad
if you let it ramp to like 20 or whatever the limit is it can be crippling, but usually you're in and out enough it doesnt matter
Safer spaces also works assuming you are experienced enough to avoid damage every few seconds
Also didn't see anyone mention it so I will; you can only do this achievement in rally point Delta and scorched acres
if you pick up fuel array on eclipse, would you just die on stage 2 instantly lol?
you have to take damage so no
just being at half health isnt enough
ah, makes sense
might make for an interesting challenge then
youre instantly in range of the threshold tho, so its very high risk. funny on engineer turrets
not happening again pal
Walking turrets for extra funny
tried it and you would be shocked by how damn big that explosion is
can you only visit prime meridian once per run?
Yes. Once you defeat false son and leave the prime meridian, the path of the colossus is closed
š¤¦āāļø good to know
not pointing any fingers but someone's dumb ass spent like 3 hours trying to get back into it with artifact of metamorphosis on cuz they wanted to knock out a bunch of skins in one run
could've been literally anyone

Surprisingly this is wrong
While most access points are shut off, gilded coast will continue to spawn green portals and let you both enter the path and even fight false son multiple times in a run
Neat
Hey! š How many times more enemies appear with more players on the team?
I guess, its not that simple, but on average
The best way to answer this in simple terms is "every player adds 30% more enemies technically speaking"
Realistically it's not exactly just a flat +30% per player -- it just starts that way. I believe the way the game scales is different too. All the more complicated info can be found here though:
https://riskofrain2.wiki.gg/wiki/Directors
As a rogue-lite game, Risk of Rain 2 features a lot of random generation as part of its gameplay - unlike many other action games, enemies and most items are randomized between different runs, both in their nature and location. The systems that manage these are called the Directors. Their main purpose is to manage spawning of monsters and intera...
Excellent, thank you!
Yep, I found it before, but I just needed some approximation instead of this whole paragraph š
Oh my apologies, I was wrong even on the percentage -- it's +50% according to the credit generation formula. creditMultiplier * (1+0.4*coeff) * (player count + 1) / 2. Without going into minutia because I wouldn''t be able to answer you accurately anyway, one player adds +50% more credit generation
Credits are not always used to spawn more enemies though, since more credits means more elites can spawn as well
I am using "sharesuite" mod with my friend and we wanted to build bigger challenge by reducing drop rate for items with artifact of sacrifice enabled. I know that "sharesuite" have a toggle for that, but I wanted to restrict us from the items even harder so I got the mod where I can just set the percentage. Thats where I needed this info - we are playing in groups of different sizes
Thank you once more š
Oh, wait, its around 50% credits right? So amount of enemies will not be higher for 50%. I guess that 30% might be more accurate (considering that in my problem only amount of units will be important, not their type/level)
Don't elite enemies have increased drop rate w/ Artifact of Sacrifice though?
They generaly have increased drop if I am not mistaken, but not with this mod that I am using to cap the drop percentage
Notably, this is where I took 30% from - but this is baked into the difficulty coefficient
Oh, yeah, that's fair
Prioritize meta damage items(AtG, bands etc.)
You can also dodge most of his attacks easily with enough movement items and a couple of Hopoo Feathers
genuine question, how the hell do you pot roll?
Does the song that plays faintly in the background during the escape sequence after beating mithrix have a name?
yes, idk tho. Its on spotify, I think?
Physics were broken for a little bit after DLC dk if they fixed it yet, but console and PC also have different physics but this should still apply good enough either way: https://youtu.be/6tM_d1ApOrE
Note: Some movement speed makes pot rolling a little easier, however too much speed makes it really tough. Also this interaction is possible every single time you enter Abandoned Aqueduct, even if you've already gotten the bands on a previous loop.
I had fun with this one so I hope ya'll enjoy it! And comment if you discover any other pot tech ...
switch player been eating good last year ngl
How so
there are some tips for him in the pins here, tl;dr stay at medium distance and watch his attacks, and punish him when he's vulnerable
when he does the big spinny attack in phase 3 (yes that's what it's called) try to move closer to him and move in sync with the lines, he always alternates between spinny and the big ground shockwave so you can sorta predict it
for phase 4 just stick to cover and wear him down from a distance until you're confident enough to approach, and don't forget about your equipment
we didnt lose our game to the dlc š
I am so glad I didn't try split screen co-op before the phase 1 update
Big true bro
so i am struggling to get all of mercenary's extra ability loudout, and bandit's B&E and bandit sadist. Got tips?
for merc, using 20 abilities in 10 seconds and don't touch the ground for 30s are both fairly straightforward, for the first one you basically just have to get group of enemies and keep spamming skills at them, and keep using expose to keep your cooldowns short (and every swing of your sword counts as using an ability btw)
For not touching the ground you can just use
to get a bunch of height and then slowly float down, using your skills to stay airborn longer
the special is the hard one, for that I recommend looking at Cabbages' guide's in #prismatic-trials
for bandit sadist, get a couple backup mags and stab alloy worship unit a bunch, using lights out to refresh m2 charges. Hemorrhage lasts a really long time and resets its timer with every stack like bleed, so the only hard part is finding an enemy that can tank it for long enough, hence AWU (Aurelionite works too if you get a gold shrine but there's less wiggle room with its health)
for B&E, basically just focus on direct damage upgrades like
and try to avoid proc items that might steal the kill, then poke mithrix to death with your revolver in his last phase.
are also fine to take since there's a small grace period to allow for them,
should be avoided though
I need help. im in the artifact boss figth but i have no idea how to beat it
keep killing enemies until an artifact key drops, then feed it to the orb thing in the middle
repeat until ded
ohhh thank you so much
thank you very much AFaxMachine. This is much appreciated.
np
What are yall's favorite survivors to play? Me personally I think artificer can be underrated at times, commando is also pretty good, huntress-while I enjoy her gameplay and love playing her- think people over hype her, and loader is a very good survivor. Same with railgunner.
Afaik this video is now outdated
Potrolling dlc update+ is as simple as walking into the pots in the direction you want them to go
Kickflipping is also no longer possible
My favourite survivor is probably Void Fiend, I love his flexibility and really insane strength when you play aggressively
I love all of the characters pretty much equally, I think they're all really really fun
I must agree with you. He is very fun. Me presonally, when I first got the DLC (survivors of the void) I mained him and loved playing him. After a while I got bored of only using him and just waned away, especially because at that time all you could get for him was monsoon mastery skin, which I had. And on your second statement, I must agree, they are all very fun to play (except chef and rex. I hate both of them deeply).
Not my poor lil Rex!!
He's kinda rough but he grew on me a lot as I did my eclipse climb
Yall- first time playing monsoon (usually speedrun on drizzle) and this golem had a little status effect, two red swords crossing above him- first time I've seen it. Yall know what it means? He's dead now I'm just wondering
@north drift Did you ping them? That's what happens when you ping an enemy unit
It's not a status effect, just a mark above the enemy so everyone can focus
Ohh i probably did on accident
Thank you:))
Strafe or flurry
kinda up to preference, strafe is better initially but flurry starts becoming better once you get at least 20% crit chance
flurry is obviously much better if you do manage to get a lot of crit but there's no guarantee of that without command, so it's a little bit of a gamble
the wiki has a some charts if you want the numbers https://riskofrain2.wiki.gg/wiki/Huntress#Strafe_vs._Flurry
Huntress is a playable character in Risk of Rain 2.
With homing attacks, great mobility, and low health, the Huntress is a fragile but mobile character focused on evasion, which is especially important considering her low damage output. She is unlocked by default as an alternative to Commando.
Is Transendence good for an E8 run?
no idea.
very
Yeah, it negates the more fall damage from e3 and the decreased healing as well
it effectively cancels out e1, e3 and e5, and the extra health helps with e8's reduction
oh i was hoping it'd do that
that just makes it so much easier
thanks guys
Does anybody have any tips for a brand new player?
there are some general tips in the pins here if you scroll down a bit, but you'll learn a lot just by playing the game
the two biggest things would just be to loot as much as you can and don't panic over the timer, and to get used to dying a lot at first
a pretty common new player mistake is thinking that they need to rush through stages as fast as possible without grabbing any items, but items are how you get stronger. The timer will always beat you if you just try to outrun it
and getting used to death is just standard for roguelikes, just try to learn from every death and do better next time
oh yeah, and you might wanna turn on the inspect item feature, it's hidden under the umbrella settings thing on the game menu along with some other nice QoL stuff
it'll let you see more detailed descriptions of items and other stuff before picking them up, without having to pause and look at the logbook. Helps a ton when you haven't already memorized everything lol
disputed origin's eclipse guide
whats an optimal equipment for Eclipse?
Anything that's good normally, or whatever works with your build. There's nothing really specific to eclipse
would be my top 5 personally, both for eclipse and normal runs, with honorable mentions to

FOR REAL
Iāve found some success in rushing through stage 1 and maybe 2 (if I can find the teleporter fast enough) and then shooting and looting in 3-5
Donāt know if thatās an effective strategy but it seems to work decently
Itās what led me to my first endgame run
Tbf railgunner carried me there for the most part but I like to think that railgunner isnāt a cheap way to play the game
So for artifact of command does the item need to be discovered in the logbook? Or do I just need to complete the challenge for it to show up in the command node
it just needs to be unlocked, not discovered
It can work but I wouldn't recommend it, it really is better to loot as much as you can, for a couple reasons
one being that the timer accelerates with every stage you complete, so rushing two stages just means you've made the game harder without much to show for it
Oh so the difficulty doesnāt rise at a set rate?
the other being that enemy gold drops scale in real time while chest prices only update at the start of a stage, so looting actually gets more efficient if you hang around longer. Whereas if you keep rushing, chest prices keep catching up and you're constantly stuck in that phase where everything is to expensive
yeah, it increases by about 15% per stage
Thatās good to know, I guess Iāll stick to the 5 minute rule
nah
No?
5 minute rule is an old-ass meta that was more relevant for ror1
best rule of thumb imo is to go for at least one item per minute while still looting as much as you can
if it takes 10 minutes to beat stage 1, then that's fine as long as you're getting 10+ items from it
Obviously faster is better, but items are so impactful that leaving them behind just to get to mithrix like 30 seconds faster isn't worth it
I kinda undervalued items ngl, but looking back, the less items I had in a run, the faster I died, so it all makes sense now
I was able to curb stomp mithrix with maybe 15 items though
AFAIK thatās not that many
nope lol, on a full looting run you'd have like 60+
Wow
getting fewer items also means you're relying more on RNG for those items to actually be good
Tbf I got really good items
yeah, if you get 15 really good items then that might be fine, especially if you're playing a naturally strong character like railgunner
Idk the names of most of them, but I had the item that upgrades the rest of your items at the next stage and that definitely helped a lot
And the items that got upgraded were kinda goated
On top of the way too high dps railgunner puts out and my pretty decent aim
oh, benthic bloom
yeah that's kind of a weird exception lol, if you get lucky with it it'll hard carry a run
Yeah I figured thatās why I was able to get as far as I did with as little items as I had
but it could also decide to turn half your inventory into aegis or something, or just more copies of itself lol
it's partly random
it always upgrades into something of the same category, so damage items will always upgrade into damage items
Ok then Iām confused because I have all common items except 2 (1 undiscovered, 1 locked) but the command node says 10 locked
but there's some overlap between categories, and the upgrades aren't necessarily gonna be better
Gimme a shrine of order and benthic bloom
It did upgrade my particularly terrible items into ones that seemed really good, at least in their descriptions
probably dlc items
I know next to nothing about what items really do though
I have to check out the log book
I donāt own any of the dlcs but I have played with someone that has them can that add them to my inventory? I just canāt use them?
if it gave you
and you had some drones, that would practically carry a run by itself
There was this one void item that turned all of my items into itself and I got murdered by stage 2 with it
Hate that thing
EGOCENTRISM THE BELOVED
nah, they always show up in the command menu. But they'll be available to choose if you're in a lobby with someone who has the dlcs
THE CURSED SPIRIT
Egocentrism sucks so bad
bro got egocentirsmād
I canāt believe that
the dps caps out at around 21,000% iirc
Oh ok so I do have almost all them just the locked ones are probably dlc
yeah, you kinda have to play differently with ego, just get as many items as you can and don't worry too much about which ones specifically. And don't get attached to any rare items since they'll probably get eaten eventually. And buy healing drones so you always have a source of healing (which is worth doing anyway, but even more with ego)
yeah
Can someone tell me if railgunner is too cheesy, I like the aim based survivors but I donāt want the game to be too easy, and if railgunner is shameful I donāt wanna play her
Alright thanks
I kinda wish the dlc items had a different lock icon or something, a lot of people get confused about that lol
None of the characters are shameful to use
Except Chef
eh, it doesn't matter lol
ror2's survivors definitely aren't perfectly balanced, but it's also a PvE game so just play what's fun
The ror2 community seems a lot less toxic than others
Must be the soundtrack pacifying everyone
This is a server after a redemption arc
Care to elaborate?
One more question, do the actual devs run this server or is this a fan made server
Official server
Sick
I wasn't there for those times, but some of the other members have stories of the dark ages
yeah, there's been some drama in the past
it wasn't that bad, basically just a lot of arguing over the game meta or whatever, and people taking things too far occasionally. I never got too involved in but I was there for some of it
the ror2 community has never been anywhere near as bad as some other games though, on average it's always been pretty chill
Yeah on a scale of COD to LoL it falls more into TF2 rank
probably helps that it's a pretty casual game, not a lot of incentive for people to be tryhards or elitists
Yeah thatās true, but Elden ring is largely pve and I meanā¦just look at the people playing it
Theyāll send you death threats for using bloodhounds blade
Back about a year ago when I was playing ror2, there were these blue portals that would spawn after the portal event, and they led to a seemingly secret level, but I havenāt had those happen since I got back into playing, am I doing something differently or did they get removed or changed in some way?
there's no specific point where you can't get one, but if you've already been to path of the colossus once, then you can't get more green portals (although you can still get back there from gilded coast or lunar seers)
yeah, blue portals have a small chance to randomly appear after beating the teleporter (like 5% I think?), but you can guarantee it by using a newt altar before starting the tp
so, i havenāt done it, been in a run for 500 minutes, tried lunar and stuff and havenāt gotten it past 2nd loop
yeah it's a pain in the ass
Oh man I used to get them every other run
but it's definitely possible to get there
Just lucky I guess
and iāve found it happen the same way with every run iāve done
I'm assuming you haven't already killed false son?
How do you even get false son?
nah, havenāt activated anothing dlc wise
can you 100% do it thru aeronite everytime ?
if you're within the first 3 stages of a loop, yeah
The survivor? find a gold shrine, go through it and get
, then go to prime meridian and beat the false son boss
oh and if you plan on doing it, you should know that there's currently a bug where you won't get the unlock if FS dies too quickly, you have to make sure Aurelionite actually spawns
itās a dlc @true gull
Yeah I have both, I was just asking about the process
It was a crime for them to give me railgunner for free
I like bandit but I love railgunner
Just wish she had more mobility than just her bomb :/
the mines go a long way if you're good with em
and technically you can use the recoil on smart rounds and her specials for a little extra boost
Yeah the video I watched told me that, my sens is too low to hit the 180 needed for the distance boost, so I just use it to mitigate fall damage
smart rounds can also let her fly with enough attack speed, but it's not really worth stacking that much AS unless you're using the alt scope
She needs to have a downside bro, her damage is just too god, imagine if she had good mobility

There's wisdom in attack speed if you're using default special too
a little, but you still wouldn't wanna be printing syringes
my friend wants me to help him unlock artifact of command but i dont wanna unlock it. Can i help him beat balwark's ambry but leave before i unlock the artifact?
Just beat false son
If you leave the game, yeah
Not sure why you wouldn't wanna unlock it though, it's not like you're forced to use it
Do you know how to unlock artifacts in general?
Just stack attack speed and hold M1

I know how to unlock one
Dunno the name
Or which biome it was in, but it was the one with the puzzle and teleporter under the map
I died before I could unlock it though
Bro this item just halved my attack speed
Not ok
The light flux pauldron is terrible for railgunner
That's how you unlock (almost) all of them, the puzzle thing lets you input different codes that correspond to different artifacts
Nope
They're hidden throughout the game but it's a massive pain and you won't know which one correlates to which artifact so I'd just look up the codes online
Yeah thats what I was gonna do
I thought the list was pinned
Why is the door the the artifact portal closed on sky meadow?
Just jump down there
Plute
key*
whar
Polylute
can you do blood pillars with transendence?
at all?
Yes
y'know
i dont wanna find out...
It just counts your shield in too
what are these items and where / how do you get them? theyre the final thing im missing from the logbook and ive racked my noggin for ideas and im dry
Thats the pearls
Rarely on some specific maps, an interactable called a cleansing pool will spawn
If you use it, it will take one random lunar item or equipment from you and turn it into a pearl or irradiant pearl
ooohh yeah i completely forgot about them. is it random or can i influence iin any way which pearl im gonna get?
Nope its random
But its a 20% chance for an irradiant pearl so with a bit of luck or a couple lunar items it shouldnt be too hard
Especially if you take egocentrism
I lost the Eclipse 8
i almost beat voidling š
the game lagged during parkour
and i got suffocated
god.. this game bruh..
is railgunner easy to use on console
esp on steam deck. want to beat voidling but im really only good with bandit
worried i wonāt be able to beat voidling if i donāt learn someone else
She isn't that bad, you don't really need to aim as much as you just line up your shot and then quickly use your secondary and then primary back to back
I thought mithrix was the only way to win in eclipse
You can go to voidling by petting the glass frog on the moon. but killing mithrix is unavoidable
Right
I got the artifact of control last night
Iām definitely using it wrong
I focus too much on the really good attack items and completely forget about the support ones
Doesnāt help that I donāt know what most items do, and it also seems like itās not showing me every item in the selection?
it wonāt show DLC items if you donāt have the DLCs and it wonāt show items you havenāt unlocked
But it has been showing me items I havenāt unlocked, and not showing me ones I have unlocked
Bungus for example, or benthic bloom
Two items I have for sure found that I cannot select in the menus
And itās not a dlc issue, as I have both
I have about 5 of the red items unlocked but it shows me about 20
But when it comes to void items, I only get 4-5
Some that Iāve also never found
bungus and benthic bloom are automatically unlocked when you buy the game or dlc respectively
void items have rarities just like normal items, so you donāt get to see all of them at once
- Youāre likely just not seeing the items you have unlocked.
- An item that is blacked out in the logbook is unlocked, you just havenāt seen it yet.
- Some command item pools are smaller than they look, like Void Items or the Halycon Seed. Void items are split into 3 tiers based on the rarity of the item they corrupt, which is why you only see 5 of them at a time. Other special items like the Halycon Seed or Elite Aspects have their own exclusive pools, so simply getting a yellow Command Essence wonāt be enough to get them, as you still have to get them how you would normally.
Command can show you items youāve unlocked but never found, that doesnāt matter
thats also because you start the game with those unlocked
I might just be blind but it doesnāt seem like I have every uncommon item on the list, and I know for sure that list doesnāt alternate, why is that?
I get now why the void items are like that but uncommon is still kinda weird to leave items out of
if you donāt have all the uncommon items unlocked then theyāll appear locked on the command menu
otherwise itās just that you arenāt seeing them like Mercenary said above
Alright, thanks for the info
I bought the game earlier, but without the dlcs and I only see like 2 open lobbies. Do people only play with the dlc stuff on? I want to experience the game without the dlcs at first š¦
No, you can still join lobbies if you don't have dlc. Try turning crossplay off in settings, that usually helps since crossplay is glitchy and nobody really uses it.
But if it's already off then it's possible there just aren't many people playing right now
Although you'll probably have a hard time finding many lobbies without dlc either way, your best bet might be #lfg-pc-ror2 or just playing singleplayer
Oh I have crossplay off
alright will try to learn her
would you guys recommend using bandit against Voidling?? or using another character outright
i only really know how to use bandit
hey, so my gpu and cpu usage is only at like 30% and with a lot of actions my fps drops to like 60 ish. Is that a Unity engine problem?
It does seem to be a unity problem, yeah. Unfortunately I don't know if there's much you can do about it, I've heard some people say that unity doesn't play nice with overclocked cpus so you can try messing with that, but it seems to vary.
You can try asking #ror2-tech-support but answers there are pretty slow
Yeah, bandit works, you'll probably wanna loop and pick up some mobility items for the fight first, particularly hopoo feathers so you can jump over the sweeping laser and do the parkour sections easier
thx will give it a shot after i unlock bands
If Iām going for my first monsoon run as captain what should I know?
Nothing really specific to monsoon, just full loot and be as efficient as you can like usual
for Cap you can just build him like commando, go for procs and attack speed and stuff. He just has a better band proc and less mobility (although microbots partly make up for that)
drones are extra useful with his passive, grab those too if you weren't already
what is a really fun to play survivor that is kinda underrated?
huntress
whichever survivor you think you don't like
scrap launcher specifically
Nail scrap power mode actually shreds with the reworked luminous
really? I thought a lot of people liked and played huntress. me personally she is very fun to play. I have always enjoyed glass cannons.
Huntress is a glass cannon without the cannon
She's popular i think for high accessibility
that, and she just feels good to play, even with her damage being so low
huntress is bad on paper, but the thing about RoR2 is that that doesn't matter. the characters are just different playstyles, ultimately their relative power levels don't matter that much because at the end of the day they're all viable

The only way to get rid of the "permanent" damage on eclipse is advancing stages right?
dying works too, if you have
seed of life or shaping buff
When phase 2 š¦§
When It's Done
they haven't given a date yet, but probably not before February if I had to guess
just based on the fact that they finished the last update in mid-December and then took a break for the holidays
let them cookš„
Just beat the game
Just beat stage 1
hey guys whats the general strategy for artificer?
She's a "burst" character, so burst items like
or
work well
Her signature is also
, because fire skills
||On abandoned aquaducts, there's pressure plates around the map. A bunch of possible spots but only 2 spawn each time. You need to hit both at once to open a gate with 2 elite elder lems, and kill them for bands. They can be pressed down simultaneously in multiplayer, with
, captain beacons, engineer turrets, or lunar coins.||
nothing else that's too special, damage multipliers and total damage procs are good as always. If you're running flamethrower then you'll wanna look for mobility items a lot too (
in particular is a godsend), but with ion surge you can pretty much ignore 90% of enemies so you can afford to focus almost entirely on damage
also, we're legally required to tell you "ion surge and flamethrower both have their advantages and disadvantages, and both can be used effectively for different purposes"
sounds good lol. right now i am using the ability that shoots you up in the air and it seems very good
surge is definitely the "better" option, flamethrower is underpowered (but way more fun)
flamethrower seems good with the DOT damage
just a heads up that there is currently a bug that removes other DoTs when burn ends, like bleed and collapse, so it will be worse than intended
oh ok good to know
flamethrower keeps getting accidentally nerfed lol
the DoT is alright, but without
, the bulk of its damage comes from its direct damage and procs
Guys what's the best surviver for looping (for two people)
probably engineer but it doesn't matter that much
Mane i mean the best for the game not for winning i want to have fun not sit in a bubble
then pick the one that you like the most lol
(and do yourself a favor and unlock his alt utility, bubble shield is mid at best)
I dont think railgunner is gonna get me very far
I mean, she's one of the strongest survivors in the game
false son or loader would also be strong choices but again, just pick the ones you like
the more you loop the less your survivor matters, eventually your items will be doing most of the work anyway
False son?
DLC character

Starting my eclipse climb has made me realize that I'm ridiculously inefficient when it comes to looting. I've mainly just been playing monsoon with friends up till now and eclipse is kicking my ass. I've been told by people a lot better than me that full clear is always better but if it takes like 3 minutes to get to the other half of the stage to grab a chest you missed, is it worth it?
Tl;DR, at what point is it better to leave than to waste time grabbing an extra item or two?
A good rule of thumb is to try to get everything on the stage (including drones if you've got extra cash, but items are priority) and still leave with more items than minutes.
Don't let the timer stress you out if looting feels slow initially- if you didn't know, enemy gold drops scale in real time, but since chest prices only update at the start of a stage, looting gets more efficient the longer you hang around. But if you rush, the prices keep catching up and grinding will always be slow
if you wanna go for max efficiency you can use the initial slow period to scout the stage a bit, work out a route that'll let you cover the whole stage and end at the teleporter and spot any good printers or whatever
Okay, cool. Thx for the good advice
Iāve heard that the āseekers of the stormā dlc isnāt great, and I think thatās because of bugs on release. If so, is it worth getting yet?
it's gotten a lot better
there are still more updates coming but the worst of the bugs are fixed and the items don't suck anymore
Your phrasing suggests that there are still some bugs, although I expect they arenāt too bad. Will those bugs lose effect if I just turn off the dlc before a round? (As in, the āexpansionsā section below the difficulty and above the relics)
yes and no, some bugs are basegame and others are in the dlc itself
Hm⦠a lot to consider. I wasnāt going to buy it immediately, I was probably going to wait for a sale, but I still appreciate the input nonetheless.
for what it's worth, gearbox has done a good job with the updates so far, and most of the remaining bugs are pretty minor, so there's reason to believe the dlc will eventually be in a much better state
probably still smart to wait, just depends on how impatient you are lol
Is there a formula for railgunners supercharge reboot
appears to just be duration/attackspeed
base duration appears to be 6, so at 200% AS it would be 3s and etc
What is base as? 1?
I was at 5 as and still had like 18 scrap to spare so I was curious lol
mmm yea no its def 6s base, weird that everything says 5s
guess i should log that somewhere but i'll just note it for now haha.
also yea at 5AS its like just over 1s of downtime
its probably never been scrutinized, it seems close enough. so gg still has it from when it was copied from fandom initially
i never noticed lol
is there any way to speed up a artifact vault?
currently trying to get delusion but been stuck in here for a solid 10 minutes so far cause they just arent dropping the keys
(running sacrifice + kin and got stone titans atm)
cause this is actualy torture
nope
although I'd recommend not running kin if you plan to unlock artifacts for that exact reason, normally it's not THAT bad
just got the 2nd key š
well its just that im doing a egocentrism build/run and wanna end up cleansing them for the pearls
and i figured might aswell do a artifact since i gotta loop anyway
unfortunate
and the worst part is
i got one early on... and ego ate it immediatly š
will equipment drone revive me in solo if i give it the seed of life
From what I understand it needs to see an enemy to activate it's equipment, so if it sees one quickly enough after you die then yes, but if the results screen pops up before that happens then it won't work properly, although you can still see your character get revived in the background behind the results screen. It usually does the second option afaik
but the equipment is a passive so thats why im unsure
It's both, it's a passive for the holder, but you can also use it to revive teammates actively. If the equipment drone dies, it'll passively revive itself, but to revive you is active
it auto activates when a teammate dies tho
It doesn't
from what i remember it does but im pretty new to the game so i wont argue
oh it just did but it didnt do anything
now it just puts the healing orbs thingy on enemies
Hello, I just started playing ror2 and I'm trying to max out commando character. I have beat the game 4 times, 2 in solo, 2 in co-op and am unable to unlock the skin. All other skills are unlocked already. The skin never gets unlocked and I don't get the achievement, any help is appreciated. Thanks.
are you on monsoon difficulty
No, normal. I thought monsoon was an area. It's the difficulty level? That makes sense. Thank you.
Yeah monsoon is the hard difficulty
Appreciate the help!
hey guys quick question
how good are the 2 green bands ?
Very good if you have a high damage skill
They're some of the best green items in the game
Even without high damage skills
and the new luminous shot are excellent band proceers
bands are a must have for nearly every character
Bands are bad on no one but must have is a stretch lol
are probably the must have category
honestly I'd narrow it to just
since they rely on burst for a large chunk of their damage output, while the rest have strong proc options
(if we wanna really get into semantics then they're not a must have for anyone, just very strong and often preferable over other options for some survivors)
Semantics sure I guess just that bands are just leagues more powerful on them over everyone else maybe not viend ig
I mean, I'll put it this way, I'm almost NEVER sad to see bands unless I'm commando. The characters in which it isn't incredible still do great with it and I would be willing to give up almost any green for a band print if I didn't already have it
I think it's an incredible item that really just enables the run to go much smoother once they show up, and they've only been getting better with the new content
they're great items but people do overhype them a little imo
like, don't get me wrong, they're never bad by any means, but for a lot of survivors they're more of a "nice to have" rather than a necessity
nothing too special, he mainly wants procs
is especially good though (moreso than usual), it has a special synergy that lets his exposing skills apply two stacks of expose at a time
(the debuff icon doesn't show stacks but you can hit them twice before the expose goes away)
is also really nice, plus anything else that gives skill charges
Merc loves luminous

Ty both
It's 10 times
Afax said 7 what the sigma
would a 3.0 proc coeff for diablo be too much
when tf did I say that lol
it's 10 times
Idk like 6 months ago ngl
you're remembering wrong then?
because I definitely don't remember it, but there's also zero reason I would've said 7 lol
Idk your like the only person I talk to here might have been someone else
probably
Every time i reach the final stage of dlc seekers of the storm my game crashing because of how much effect coming out of the ground. Is this a bug? It looks like a thunder striking ground but not damaging character. If its not a bug is there a way to lower amount of effects?
i think u should try playing with Monsoon if u have played other difficulties
They're the 3rd best green, sale star and transmitter are just too good
But they're not necessary for anyone, I will argue that the only "necessary " items on most survivors are
or Elusive antlers
i got silence between two strikes as engineer, does it work for my turrets too?
Yes
Nah, I'd put bands on the same level as atg and maybe shuriken, which one is best depends on survivor
Like, bands' strength is that they're always proccing on a strong hit and you can generally control when they proc, but atg can absolutely beat them in terms of overall damage output
I prefer bands than atg because bands are guaranteed
Shuriken is better but tbh i don't like it very much
Being guaranteed doesn't mean it's actually better
If you prefer it then that's one thing, but "I like it more" is not the same as "it's better"
Of course, atg with a good attack speed is infinitely better
But it's still a chance
It depends on the character, if I'm playing loader or default m1 RG I would prefer bands, if I'm commando or captain, atg would be better
But overall I think being guaranteed is better because (even if it's unlikely) when something is a 10% chance you can fight a lot and not having them proc
Like I said
If a character deals pretty much exclusively in strong, slow hits then yeah, bands are better. But for everyone else it depends
I would say that greens for me are probably Star > Transmitter > bands = atg > shuriken
Personally I think it's a little pointless to rank them anyway considering you don't always get that option in a non-command run
Theyre all really good greens
(Also theoretically shuriken beats almost anything for damage with enough stacks)
i think atg is basically always better than bands, apart from maybe early-mid railer or lodr or maybe diablo
being a big chunk on a consistent timer is pretty solid, but atg is a chain item. it activates other items, including bands themselves if they are up
tbh, the CD on bands doesnt really scale very well either since you lose control of them anyways once you get a lot of effects happening, especially when things are more hectic, and those are the times that atg and uke are at their best
Bands also feel really strong to use which is part of why people overrate them, I think
you see most of the big hits directly yea
which was the exact design decision when they changed them from an 8% chance on hit haha, so thats probably a good thing
it is definitely easy to forget or not think as much about all the extra atg proc chances coming out of the random stuff you get like razorwire or fireworks or disciple or whatever other nonsense you get over time, and all those extra hits give extra chances for proc chains to kick in while bands are resting, on top of the same main big hits
Idk about putting transmitter that high personally bc I just don't want more than 1
Like it's good yeah but I'd never take it over another good green in a shop bc im sure I'll get one eventually and any more I get are basically useless
Whereas atgs or bands I want as many of as I can possibly get
I mean, transmitter is practically a weaker reusable dio right now
You literally can't die if it's off cooldown because it gates damage below 25%
I'd say that's pretty worthy of it being top tier
^ this
The item is op rn, I honestly think it should have a longer CD (90s maybe) or something because it basically makes you inmortal + protects watches
can someone explain to me what do I do to beat the game?
really it just needs to not have the damage gating
kill the final boss
do I have to figure out how to use the teleporter below on stage 5 or is it something else?
Kill Mithrix in the 6th stage
If you interact with the things around 5th stage you're going to loop instead of going to the moon
That's for artifacts, things that modify the game in different ways
I mean, you just... use it?
By default it takes you to the moon, but if you interact with the prong things around the edge or leave through any other portal, you'll loop
I never interact with anything I just press the start button on the teleporter but it loops every time
ive never interacted with any of that
are you sure you're not pressing these things?
You're using the teleporter from below the map, that's not it
no im not
the teleporter underneath the map is something different, yeah
im just asking if thats what it was because I couldn't figure anything else out
and you're not leaving through a blue portal or something?
oh I can't go through the blue portal first?
nope
alr
any portal besides the teleporter will loop
If the teleporter is like it is in the image then you go to the moon (final stage), if you go blue portal or interact with those things you loop (the chat says something like "the primordial teleporter aligns with the planet)
Guys, how to save RoR2 game progress and play on other PC on Steam? Last time i was lost my progress cuz im re-download my Windows, how to avoid this trouble next time?
it should carry your progress over with steam cloud, not sure why it wouldn't unless you have it disabled. But if it happens you can use a mod to get your progress back https://thunderstore.io/package/prodzpod/RealerCheatUnlocks/
It's good yeah but it stacks horribly, there's no point in having more than one
Unless you're dying more than every 45 seconds, in which case you have bigger problems
If I already have one I'd never take it over almost any other green, and even if I don't id prioritize ones that do stack well over it since I'll likely get one at some point regardless
Whereas something like atg band or sale star I almost always hit in a shop without thinking and/or print lots with green scrap
If anything thats an amazing advantage, since it means you can save your scrap on other things rather than stacking it to get the best benefit
Just 1 stack of it is insanely strong
and "I'll likely get one at some point" isn't exactly a great argument with how many items are in the green pool, and they're not THAT common
They kinda are tho, especially with things like halcyon shrines prioritizing sots items
They're also just not that insane, just like dios it can be a nice safety net but you shouldn't be triggering it often enough for it to contribute enough to be a top tier item
the thing that keeps dio out of top tier is that it's single use
oh, and transmitter also protects elixir and watch, which even dio doesn't do
not triggering it often arguably makes it better if anything, because it just means it'll always be ready if you do end up needing it
Dio isn't top tier bc it's just not great, in most cases you either don't use it at all, or you're doing poorly enough that you'll just die a second time anyway
Like you could stack it for it to not be single-use, but when would you ever do that?
I fail to see how reusable immortality wouldn't be strong but sure
and falling to low health happens a lot more often than outright dying
Ok given the choice would you stack dios then? That's reusable immortality
no, because it's not actually reusable lol
but if dio had a cooldown I'd probably take it
(plus the fact that you only need one stack to get a really powerful safety net is part of what makes it strong)
I've witnessed a friend of mine who went through E7 Arti and found Transmitter and Blast Shower stage 1. I was doubting his ability to survive since he'd go low health pretty constantly, but early on he had some healing items for padding, and later on when he got a Fuel Cell he didn't need anything else but Transmitter for survival
oh yeah, I forgot to bring that up, blast shower resets it
with transmitter, blast shower and gesture you're basically unkillable
Transmitter needs its cooldown tripled and the blast shower interaction removed to be even remotely balanced imo
eh, they just need to remove the damage gate, it would be fine without that
I'd rather they not do that personally tbh, a 25%HP item doing its job is very rare
I think Transmitter is fine as is since, as stated before, it stacks horribly and its cooldown is long enough that, if you're dying horribly it will save you once
(Also it'd suck to make Blast Shower arbitrarily not work with Transmitter)
In fact I'd rather propose Stealthkit to be buffed to match its current power honestly
they need to just revert stealthkit to being a chance to activate when you get hit honestly
they changed it to be "more consistent" or something but it just sucks now
A lot of the dlc items have that same issue tho of being really strong on one stack but way less good to stack
(old stealthkit also didn't have a cooldown and stacking increased the cloak duration which was great, though they could prooobably reintroduce a small cooldown since they've also tweaked enemy AI to respect cloaking more)
old stealthkit was cool and I'm still salty about it lmao
yeah, gearbox is weirdly allergic to linear stacking for some reason
they seem to really want to have items stack multiple effects in smaller amounts
It's an...odd way to balance the game, especially when the older items already stack linearly and tend to be more efficient anyway lol
I mean, it's not inherently bad, it works for stuff like gasoline or shuriken
Gas and shuriken have really good stacking tho
yeah, the issue with the gearbox items is that they don't stack well
Besides growth nectar anyway lol
growth nectar stole all of the stacking juice
And then spilled it on the floor making everything slippery
growth nectar IS the stacking juice
then on the other hand you have bolstering lantern having the most annoying stacking ever
I don't know why they didn't just increase the attack speed buff directly instead of the weird overcomplicated radius/max buff stacks thing
actually I think the main problem is that they overcomplicated all of their ideas when ror2 items tend to work best when they're simple
Overspill.
Iām late to this so Iām not gonna ping reply.
Items not stacking well but being strong on the first stack isnāt really a big downside because otherwise weād consider basically every red bad (unless youāre arguing for opportunity cost which is an entirely different conversation). Itās definitely bad design, and it doesnāt feel good as an effect, but it doesnāt really make the item significantly worse if the initial effect is potent enough, which in transmitter it arguably is.
This is further reinforced with transmitter because it basically has the effect of a red (if not a bit better than a dios)
Opportunity cost is definitely a part of the conversation about how good an item is tho
yea but itās not really the same conversation as whether initially transmitter is good or not
also itās not an amazing argument because itās not common with greens and reds where you get to choose between two items of the same calibre
like I could say that bands are always bad because Iām playing commando and AtG is gonna be better, but thatās not a very genuine scenario
I'm not saying they're bad, just not above stuff like atgs, which was the original conversation
I think saying bands are worse than atgs on commando is fair, yeah?
I think only one person was arguing that it's better than bands or atg
oh I see, to me it seemed like you were saying that transmitter just wasnt very good, but thatās on me.
also that wasnāt really my point with the comment about bands and mando
No it's definitely good I was just saying it was being overrated a bit
Like I'm arguing for A tier instead of S, not F or D tier
yea that makes more sense
that's fair
old stealth kit is better but still in such a weird place of rewarding you for taking damage
I mean, it's a defensive item, that's kinda the point
does cautious slug and other regen effects make shield regen faster? like if you have transcendence or silence between two strikes?
nope
so this line from the logbook entry for transcendence means nothing
that's... not what it says?
is that modded?
ah it might be a mod thing
probably is
nvm then
yep, its a modded change. ZetAspects makes Transcendence grant 50% of health regen as shield regen. ty tho
will ror2 be getting an update in the future or is the development finished?
We're currently going through a roadmap, so expect rewords of False Son, and then the new characters
As far as new content in the future, we don't know
i lowk really want a character with a scythe š
I didn't know that if you pause and click "inventory" you can use a scrapper (if it's in front of you) and you can scrap all your items in pause and it does them at the same time lol
Is this general knowledge???
I think that's a new thing
I haven't tested if you don't lose anything if you do it like that but as far as I have seen it works perfectly, i scrapped two
and a
at the same time at it gave me 3 green scrap
I'm pretty sure you can meditate as seeker with this exploit
That would be absurd, I have to try it lol
Shit I just realized wrong channel lmao
quite a lengthy question but I need advice on how to keep my runs consistent. ive recently started playing - only about 50 hours in - and I often struggle during the lunar pillars section during monsoon/eclipse runs. stage 5 seems to go mediocre at worst and then pillars hit like a brick wall, I had an acrid run that seemed to be going swimmingly until I got to pillars. I got hit with 3 pillars of soul and I could barely progress due to how little damage I was doing to the chimeras. I cant tell if im picking up too little items, if im taking too long on stages etc. any tips/advice is more than welcome
Firstly, make sure to loot the entire stage before leaving items help much more than time does
Second you can actually just completely skip pillars! Hold on I'll get a video
https://youtu.be/Pn7B4E5yfps the ones that use
and
have been patched out without mods sadly but the others work still
Note that I did leave out a LOT of other item combinations and variants for these skips, but these are the most straight forward and easily obtainable. Check my comments bellow for more pillar skips submitted by people around the community! Comment if you think of any other skips or have questions :)
You can catch me doing live Eclipse 8 Runs a...
In addition to what's mentioned above, scrappers and printers are a good way to keep your runs consistent as they let you control your builds to some extent, speaking of which you should figure out what items to prioritise on certain survivors and possible item synergies with each other. Efficient looting on maps will come naturally with experience.
Sometimes it's also just plain bad luck, 3 soul pillars is tough, and sometimes you just won't get any good items or printers, or find any scrappers at all. Sometimes there's just going to be less loot than usual,
Yeah wanted to mention printers but felt like giving just very broad advice
If you're struggling with the late game it could be because you're not getting enough items for the time you spend on a stage (correct me if I'm wrong im just guessing) and the enemies are just too hard to deal with
There isn't much else to say except to keep trying and not give up š
Are you doing monsoon for the skins or just because it's the hardest difficulty?
I don't know if it's in the video that chefnation linked, but acrid has an itemless pillar skip! If you look it up on yt you'll get cabbages video of him doing it three times in a row, it's not as bad as it seems.
This is just some general combat advice that can apply to people at 80% of the skill level, it's good to keep in mind
("best friend" in the image was reffering to full looting, as chefnation stated)
Goodluck!
The 2 hoof version is there but I'm hoping they will have more than 2 hooves in their runs because speed is very good on everyone
the skins, I usually just go straight to e1 when I get the hang of a character, I know some of the known pillar skips and I do use them when I can
I guess my main problem is item consistency and not spending time finding scrappers, Im also often to lazy to roll pots for characters such as artificer or loader even though bands are extremely helpful on said characters
I try to average an item a minute though sometimes im lacking
im guessing consistency will come with time, thank you guys so much for the advice, it is really helpful
Important to note, in singleplayer, since there's less credits to spawn things, it's likely that you can go through several stages (or an entire run) without finding a scrapper
The game does not guarantee scrapper spots -- if you don't find one after running through the stage once or twice, it most likely did not spawn
There is that one spot on verdant falls though where there will always be either a big chest or a scrapper
Scrappers also tend to blend in with certain environments so its always worth to closely inspect areas that have similar colors
You can absolutely do that with the meditation
Honestly, I don't want them patching this lol (maybe for seekers meditate but not for scrappers)
LMAO THATS SO FUNNY
I knew there were some things you could do "in between frames" with inventory pause like changing and using equipments but I did not think the seeker minigame worked like that too
Also the scraper doesn't work if you scrap different tiers
I need someone to test this in PC with mods (I play on switch so testing is tedious) because I think it works with less than 3 items but I could be wrong
Edit; apparently I was wrong and while you can scrap multiple items the scraper would only get you 1 scrap š
Weird question, is there a way to cheese the captain umbra microbot so I can fire my orbitals without him deleting them?
Damn seeker meditate in frozen time means that with lux you could probably be even closer to literally invincible
WHY DOES MY GAME CRASH,MY FRIEND WASTED HIS BEER MONEY AND NOW HE IS CRYING HIS EYES OUT,PLS FIX!!
im jk but seriously its broken
#ror2-tech-support might be able to help!
why is the chest 675?
Some mod changed price I guess
I had the same situation when rejoined 4 stage with propersave mod
is there any reason why captain's mask is in the pattern that it is?
Looks cool
true true
ok thatd be it ty
Is there still a chance to ask about some Steam Deck fix or improvements? I'd like to know where to ask or if the Devs ever read this server
There is the various feedback and bug report channels that we know the devs read
Does spinel tonic apply a permanent debuff?
Yes
Since the affliction is an item it means it can never go away
what's the best engineer loadout for eclipse?
and is it worth taking strides of heresy on him?
what lunars are good on him for eclipse?
all alternates except for turrets, general consensus is that the stationary turrets are better but I like mobile if you plan on taking visions (which i do a lot bc his m1 is awful)
Can you fight False Son on Eclipse, and does the run end?
I believe you can fight him but it doesn't end the run
ty ty
M1 does exactly the same damage with the exact same proc coefficient.
For mobile turrets and stationary
what does this even mean? The turrets donāt have the same damage or proc coefficient
But per second it does, check the wiki. The devs made it perfectly balanced
oh thats what you meant
Stationary turrets are still generally considered better even though they have about the same dps and procs per second
Ye, the only major benefit is that mobile turrets aren't effected by the reload anim bug
can u do moment whole on eclipse or is it disabled?
disabled
Without mods, you can only end Eclipse by killing Mithrix or killing Voidling. The second one is only by petting the frog after killing Mithrix anyway
the super purple portal to reach Voidling without Mithrix in a run won't spawn either
damn
Ok, so I want to know everyoneās take on gameplay: is it more worth while to rush each stage and move on before the timer increases w/o collecting all the chests & items on each round, or does it make more sense to spend more time on each stage to gather all the items you can before moving on?
I always aim for the 2nd way and try to get as many items as possible, but often times when I play with others they want to rush before the difficulty goes up. And now Iām wondering if I have it the wrong way in my head?
Or is it ultimately a personal preference thing?
Always worth it to get all the items. Doing it quickly is preferable obviously but collecting all the items is much better
Always loot as much as you can, it's simultaneously more fun and efficient as long as you don't spend an egregious amount of time
Also, the difficulty is not based just on time, it's based on time and the stage count. The difficulty increases by 15% each stage
So no matter how fast you get through the stage, the difficulty will still increase as you go on to the next one
Full loot but also be fast, you obviously donāt want to spend 30 mins on stage 1 if you can help it, but donāt skip half the items either
How do i get the false sun bc i beat the boss with seeker and it didn't give me nothing
You need to have the Halcyon Seed (
) which you get by beating the gold golem boss in the gold portal
And then beat him
And don't kill him too quickly, make sure aurelionite actually spawns
If it helps, a good rule of thumb is to loot everything and try to get at least one item per minute
Managing the timer is about efficiency, not just speed- you basically wanna do a 100% speedrun of each stage
and printers do not lend well to a speedrun
Thanks guys!
Personally I'd even emphasize looting order over time
Things like leaving tri-shops for last in case you get card, leaving bad items on the ground rather than picking them up immediately in case of recycler, etc
Alright yeah, the speedrun analogy was admittedly not great lol
I was thinking of it in terms of "do everything you can on the stage", including printers and recycling and such
If that was a real situation, running across the aphelian sanctuary to get some scrap and go back to the crit printer will pay off massively later anyway
Question about something that's been happening in my games lately: Is there a specific item or song that has a digital metronome sound going off every ten-ish seconds? I keep hearing it in my runs and I don't know the source.
Do you mean 3 beeps?
Probably chronic expansion
It beeps when your combo is about to run out
THANK YOU! It was annoying the crap out of me!
Yeah, there's been a ton of feedback about it being annoying lol. It'll probably get changed eventually
until then, just mod it out
Tbh it probably wouldnt be nearly as bad if it wasnt just the same exact pitch on all beeps
it's like that one smoke alarm that keeps going off for no reason
do engi turrets get the scrapped Bead boost
Neither wiki mentions anything about it, but it's tracked through an invisible item i believe so they might? If nobody else has an answer I'll test it later
If it's an invisible item then it should work but yeah, would have to test
like prayer beads?. i dont think that uses an item, its a field in the inventory but so is infusion health, and that isnt shared
How does debuff stacking work in coop?
Also are you able to get void variants of items you haven't unlocked?
debuff stack as normal, which means you can theoretically call your mates to copy your loadout and have 4x max buildup rate
as for void items, having smth unlocked or not doesnt affect them, you can easily check it out with artifact of command (red equivalents tend to happen rather commonly compared to normal reds, still regarded as rares tho)
DoT stacks are tracked individually, so like if two people are stacking bleed but one person has a watch and the other doesn't, then only that person's stacks will get a damage bonus
@celest kayak this might anwser the question you had about ignite and fire dots lol, if you're still seeking an anwser
ooh it does actually, i thought everything was added to a pool based on the status. ty @lavish jacinth! very helpful
how do I avoid the wandering vagrants instant kill thing
just get behind cover, it's based on line of sight
Are there any plans to implement cross play to ror2?
none that we know of
Hey, I'm new to risk of rain and wanted to know how does the clipboard lobby works, do I need to copy a link or something? can someone please help me I'm supposed to play with my friend in half an hour
you shouldn't need to use it, you can just send an invite directly through your friends list. If you're both on steam make sure you both have crossplay turned off first though
(but if you do end up needing to use the clipboard lobby for whatever reason, iirc it'll just put a lobby code into your clipboard, send that to your friend and have them paste it into the game. I forget exactly where all the buttons are and stuff but it shouldn't be too hard to figure out)
I'm confused by the green and gold portal
What does the gold portal do in the gilded coast? I went through the GREEN portal and got sent to the reformed altar, and now I charge the teleporter and see another green portal. What happens if I use it? And what does the teleporter do
green portals take you to the path of the colossus, which is the set of stages leading to the new final boss in SotS. You'll eventually reach it if you keep taking green portals, but if you just leave through a normal teleporter you'll just go back to normal stages
the gold portal inside gilded coast just takes you to the next level
Gold portal takes you either into gilded coast, or leaves gilded coast (into a normal, non-colossus stage)
Green portal always takes you to the path of Colossus stage (reformed altar if you're going to stage 2, treetop canopy if you're going to stage 3, and prime meridian if you're going to stage 4. If you're going to stage 1 or 5, green portals just will not spawn, instead spawning a gold portal
Thanks guys
would it be balanced if freeze worked on teleporter bosses? along with the queen beetles and such that appear more and more often when looping
its just strange that it works on mithrix but not something like the stone titans and such
tbf status effect is afflicted on mithrix because he is THE special individual
but an oversized beetle withstands it
idk man
seems very preferencial to me
also i dont think tele bosses would need status effects anyway
shits like wyrms would break asf no doubt
it's always been kinda arbitrary which enemies can be frozen
some flying enemies are immune to it too, but not all of them
seeing flying ice statues has never stopped being wierd
I love freezing blind pests and watching them fall
maybe just the baseline teleporter bosses should get affected imo, vagrant, beetle, titan maybe even imp
I understand magna worms and such
honestly if mithrix is allowed to be frozen then you might as well make everything freezable
thats what I wish for though it would probably break a lot of stuff such as the aforementioned magma worms
unless there's a reason it can't be freezable like with worms, yeah
should I make this a feedback suggestion or nah, is it too niche of a change to hope for
people's gut reaction is gonna be that it's overpowered I bet
yeah probably, with railgunners alt special having an execute itd make her even more overpowered
but you can if you want ig, it wouldn't be the worst idea ever suggested lmao (tho you're also definitely not the first person to think of it)
yeah I might just make a suggestion for the usual beginning stage bosses
no need for magma worms and such
I've always kinda felt that there should just be middle ground, like if an enemy isn't freezable then it just inflicts heavy slow instead (the same thing glacial elites and runalds inflict)
because it sucks that freezing abilities just don't do anything on bosses, but it's also kinda reasonable that you can't execute them that easily
yeah thatd also work well, its just always been strange that freeze works in some places and not others
at the very least it'd be nice if it were consistent, yeah
True, also you can just remove the execute but keep the stun on boss enemies
worms not being able to be frozen would make sense tho
like they're literally made of fire
and overloading worms could just be built different
I mean, you can freeze wisps
yeah exactly
I only think freeze should be applicable to the early stage bosses due to them often becoming enemies outside of the teleporter segment of a stage
true
The issue with worms is that they never stop moving
does the equipment drone revive you with seed of life?
Do the impossible see the invisible
They don't unless they're in combat and you die, it's pretty buggy. Also if they did they'll use it on themselves
hey guys, me and my friend have currently all the monsoon skins except for rex's and captain's. As we literally almost never use these characters in our runs, we would like to know the best items for rex and captain to get the most out of the two characters
For captain, mainly proc items. For Rex, razor wire, repulsion armour plate are good items to synergise with his self damage
Also use Rex alt secondary
Captain is one of if not the best proc characters, atgs, ukelele, bleed, polylute , plasma shrimp etc
Rex is weird because he doesn't have anything specifically fit for him other then razrowire, tougher times and RAP, he also doesn't do good with bleed whatsoever due to his primary thing extremely low in proc coefficient
Basically what tree said, yea LOL
alright nice thank you
damn i still need to unlock it
lol thanks anyway man dw
if im on stage 2 and just let the lvl increase, will clay dunestriders eventualy start spawning? (on the desert map with the tar waterfall thingy)
I've got a dumb question that I think I know the answer to but I just wanna be safe on it, what exactly does armor do? does the amount you have negate that amount of damage you take?
yes
ah okay, thank you
it's not like a flat reduction, it sort of stacks with diminishing returns, where 100 armour iirc is 50% reduction and 200 is 75%
nah the "alt" secondary is technically the one you start with bc rex's skills are really weird, the one you have to unlock is kinda just worse outside of eclipse
itās cuz they organized them in columns of plant skill and robot skill, pretty cool imo
yeah it's cool and I get why it just makes them confusing to talk about
Yes but no
It's bugged #1320890464936923289 message
I got the dlc last night and I've managed to nap chef how do I aquire the false son? And can I loop before fighting bro
You beat aurelionite and then go through the green portal that appears after beating her and then fight false son and beat him to unlock him. And yes you can loop.
You better loop
I'm build dif I don't need too š¦¾š¦¾ probably should though to get this dude
You better loop bro
umm i completed the artifact room but no portal has appeared
I'm a fairly new player, how do I play Acrid most effectively? I love playing as Acrid but I don't know if I'm doing it right
Hit and run
jump and spit on shit, spread your plague (r) and run away let procs and poison kill shit
Do not facetank it is a good way to die
Get visions of heresy too
alright, thank you
is the seekers of the storm dlc worth buying?
Yes absolutely
Does anyone know a mod that makes the in game interactions faster?
Meele acrid > all
The exact formula for the damage reduction from armor is 100/(100+armor), so yeah 100 armor ends up at 100/200, or 50%, 200 is 100/300, or 67%, 300 armor would be 75%, etc
However things that just say reduce damage rather than armor do just directly negate it, so like repulsion armor plates are just -5 flat from any damage, and warped echo is always a 35% damage reduction
My latest run, I ended up with about 1331 armor
I was unkillable, but then i crashed
1 armor behaves like a 1 % effective health increase. i find thats an easier way to keep track
100 armor is 100% eff hp up, since with a 50% reduction it takes 200% as much damage to kill compared to normal.
also kinda better demos that gaining armor linearly is consistently good, despite the damage reduction as a % appearing to diminish
ok sooo
we one shot false son (we did the false son route)
Finally got around to testing it and no, they do not
They do gain tonic afflictions tho so watch out for that if you like tonic builds
Bro on the fent cart fr
y'know if they get tonic afflictions I wonder if they also technically other tierless items like consumed elixirs or broken watches or if afflictions are a hardcoded exception bc they actually do something
Captain is the GOAT
they copy your entire inventory except for things that specifically have the TurretBlacklist tag, which I don't think consumed items have. So yeah, probably
does seed of life work prevent naturopath?
not 100% sure but I don't think so, assuming you mean the revive and not the healing orbs
i didnt know there were healing orbs
if you use it after it's already been consumed it'll drop a thing on the ground that spits out some healing orbs, yeah
"healing" refers to anything that would create a green number over your head, so health regen or gaining health from a level up or whatever doesn't fail the challenge. Not sure if refilling your health from a revive counts though
i heard dio's doesn't count so i'll just take it
idk how naturopath works i sorta got it accidentally quite early on
I mean, it's pretty simple, just beat the 3rd teleporter without receiving any form of healing besides regen
idk why but i cant use lunar coins when im playing with friends atm
i got some client side mods on, could that be causing problems?
maybe, turn off your mods and see if that fixes it
The funny thing is since acrids m1 and bite are Regen they aren't affected by naturopath
what is the best item for heretic
that's a pretty broad question lol
Almost everything is good on her though
total damage procs and multipliers are always a good go-to
ig stay away from
since it makes her negative health regen even worse, unless you have
which disables regen entirely
alr thanks
are lysate cells completely useless on captain?
No
Lysate cells add extra charges to your primary beacon
So if youre running a resupply or hacking beacon you should always put it as the first beacon in the ability list so you can use multiple of them without wasting the second beacon slot
Do note that you can only have two beacons out at the same time
I'm guessing it doesn't work on the stage you pick them up on
because I don't have extra charges
If you call down a third beacon the oldest beacon will vanish
Yup its on the next stage
the reminder
thank you
Engineer Visions of Heresy. Should I be cooked alive for preferring walky turrets over sit turrets?
it does good
They're both fine
They are better
If anything mobile turrets benefit more from visions, the delayed damage is less of an issue since they can move
Visions also fixes the shuriken bug that the laser normally has so that's handy
Great. Good to know that I will not become a fine meal for some pros.
Protip, don't worry abou what "pros" think with this game lol
Most people don't care what you use, and anyone who tries to argue that you have to play the meta probably has a massive skill issue themselves
So just play whatever's fun
I suppose that makes sense.. Considering just finished an Artificer Eclipse climb with alt primary because I suck at aiming fireballs lol.
Anyone here got any idea if there could be more interactables that you can spam activate with the weird ass inventory pause? Any interactable that has a direct cooldown between activations is most likely not gonna work and things like resupply would work if it weren't for the limited uses to give some basic criteria
With enough spamming this essentially nukes everything on the stage within seconds so knowing of more applications than the tp would be pretty huge
multiple of those revive shrines maybe?
Maybe though I doubt it since that shrine also gets expended after you use it
In general it seems only interactables work that dont lose their interactability either permanently or temporarily but still keep those interact outlines in grey
So printers dont work whereas scrappers do work because scrappers are always interactable, just with their interaction denied while its scrapping
Off the top of my head I can't think of anything else that's both unlimited and has no cooldown. Changing the shapes on the artifact teleporter thing maybe, but that wouldn't be too practical for nuking the map
The shapes may also function like the primordial tp states
hitboxes
When I tried to shift the tp like that it would simply ignore the spamming and just act as if I pressed once
Hmm
try this with squids
And being able to wreak this much havoc on more than just the beginning of tp would be very powerful
Ally limit moment
Though it is funny that fireworks are basically war bonds 2 with this strat
Polyp's buffed yet again love to see it
NEVER use walking turrets!!!
There is no crossplay in ror2
Only between steam and epic games store which are both pc
Ok so a couple reasons
Firstly: it aint worth it to rewrite so much of the game to even have the chance of crossplay
Secondly: it would NOT function well. Even the pc to pc crossplay that does exist is a broken mess
tru tru
i really dont notice this being an issue often, since they can close the distance. even flying enemies its often fine
i notice the stationary flaw of getting deleted by every big melee and/or pool enemy much more, like mobile turrets evading elder lems and mushrums is great
dunno what youve tried, but it would be pretty funny if the healy pod equipment was spammable lol
caffeinator or smth i forgor since i never use it
caffienator does have a cooldown and limited uses tho
mobile is nicer because you can set and forget and they rarely die
just replace them after getting a bunch of items or before tp
wait caffeinator has limited uses lol
i really never use it

yeah it has 12 sodas
i know you cant super spam it normally but idk how the inventory memery interacts with stuff, i havent messed with it yet
it also has a small delay between buying drinks which is dumb just let me spam squids
probably Hopoo trying to keep the Caffinator/Polyp combo from being too crazy
me when i spam out 19 squids and instantly hit ally limit
after testing, it appears voided items of unlockable items are available even if you dont have the uncorrupted item unlocked; secret strategy for no unlock runs!!
oh neat, makes sense to me tbh but kinda cool!
since they are completely separate items, but it would make sense for them to be linked too
i think the only unlockable dlc item is the life seed
i think so yea
but yeah iw as getting safer spaces, pluris, lystaes, benthics, encrusted keys on a fresh profile i unlocked medkit during ym testing
I hate quid pullyp
It ended two of my runs i dont trust them anymore, worst item in the game, bison steak soloes
how?
voidtouched squids at sotv launch were hilarious
Can they not get void touched anymore????
I got them voidtouched like 8ish months ago or smth, unless that was a change that didn't get to console at the time
i cant rember, maybe im instinctively more careful now but i cant rember the last time ive seen it happen
so either they cant, or im just real careful with infestors now lol
i know they made like turrets immune, that was also extremely funny
idk if they can't
but with the buff to their knock-back it's probably not gonna happen
the issue is that their attack is an orb, so its homing and undodgeable, even through walls, and made collapse hell
They can get voidtouched but they're pretty good at avoiding it now that they have really strong knockback
that makes sense
the only time it really happens is if they get ganked by several of them at once or if they're distracted by another enemy
their stats also got tweaked so that voidtouched polyps are less of a death sentence, they've got higher skill damage but lower base damage so collapse does about as much damage as their normal shots, and they only have a 0.1 proc coeff now
plus you can surf their knockback to get away from them
Voidtouched collapse is what %? I know it's definitely more than 10
400% base damage, 100% proc chance. They basically have 10 needleticks
Oh is it 100% noted
100% base, since proc coeff still applies
You gotta wonder what they were planning with EA enemies having low base damage but high % attacks and having proc coefficients
yeah, the old enemies were really inconsistent with base damage lol
stone titans having 40 for no reason at all
Like jellyfish have low attack and a 2000% m2
no idea why they didn't just make everything 10(+2) and tweak the skill damage accordingly, except for stuff like scavs that have an actual reason to have lower base damage
Well scavs are later in the games life, that's after evolution and vields where base damage and proc coefficients would matter
tbf they could have just done that for everything, including survivors
but having stat diversity is a bit more interesting and affects how some items interact. though items on enemies wasnt relevant at launch, it is nowadays (which is the idea behind the entire conversation in a way)
I guess elites would interact with enemy base damage
yeah, I was gonna say
Surely elites existed day one
old burn damage always did 200% base
so having something like higher base damage making items more impactful, or only some enemies being able to proc bands, is kind of interesting.
also yea old burn was flat damage, now its just also 50% total tho
