No since zoom amounts are based on resolution, whole integer(sp?) values are only ones with pixels scaling perfectly

Alternative is to get equipment in box, then exit game, locate your save (steam/userdata/accountid#/1337520/remote) and make it read only. now you can after each attempt restart game to make it appear again since rift chest is in save file, then after you win, Go to your save and remove the read only tag from it before closing your game to keep the progress.

Judgement gold is clear on every non-secret character, gold time will be removed from trials menu once update comes to switch

egg is good all around, bungus stacks well if you have the movement to get away, teeth stack pretty well, mu stacking can get pretty nice with higher amounts. the others are usually outclassed imo
oh and banner is very good with both single and multiple

I've beaten the game with Huntress, Acrid, Drifter, and Ranger. Huntress definitely the easiest
Commando is awesome, i dont see a buff coming for him bc he is really stong late game bc of his ease to proc items

Then umm, Prestige is Provi trials, dissonance is split in 4 on stage 3 and 4 on variants 4 5 6, tempus on IIRC all variants of stage 5 as long as you are fast enough and Cognation is on single stage 1 variant which can be reseted for so for most part there is little but not too much RNG on getting the artifacts

The data log for each item shows up after you acquire them for the first time, which might be useful to read through for newer players though they don't always have the most accurate and useful info. But yeah ukelele is a chance on hit to do a chain lightning proc and tesla coil turns on every few seconds for a few seconds and does AoE lightning around you

Yeah the coil does its thing automatically while the ukulele does it when you hit something
Ukelele bonus damage will also scale by how fast you attack but tesla won't, unless I'm hugely mistaken
I was curious cuz often lightning/shocking is like stuns, but there's a separate stun thing so

Enemies can be stunned by taking enough damage in a hit, too

You'll notice this by sometimes enemies will just run at you continuously as you attack, but as you get stronger than "the curve" those same enemies are no issue

Certain characters also have slower, crunchier attacks right off the bat so you'll notice they can deal with groups of smaller enemies a lot easier
Technically ukulele "scales with attack speed" but is is mainly just having more rolls to proc it with the increased attack speed.
Yeah I should have said DPS from the item, not the "bonus damage" from it. I meant that any damage from the item is bonus on top of what your attack is actually doing but the wording I used could confuse someone š¹

If its only blighteds then it might be intentional, you know they are pitch black, mysterious and all that
Itās usually a projectile from a dead enemy as itās no longer associated with it (some projectiles despawn like robospider) so itāll probably be a missile

I would grab a egg and a fungus and then stack teeth, mu construct is pretty good and warbanner is great bc its 3 in one
i'm always kiting and i don't see extended value in warbanner until i can stand my ground
Are you playing with command? Warbanner stacks increase its range giving you more room to maneuver and still receive the buff
You can also hop out of the banner and for 2-3 seconds after still have the buff

I actually had to double check that I didn't accidentally turn on Monsoon. His damage just falls off hard at the 15 min mark
Huntress and Sniper would SHRED that Magma Worm that I plink-plink-plinked at its massive health bar with 'Mando
maybe unlock some alternate skills you might prefer them
his shotgun is pretty good fot that specific encounter (and also in general)
and youve gone very heavy into healing items which doesnt help against the scaling
dont need to heal if you dont get hit (movement and utility items) or they are too dead to hit you (damage items)

Yeah that's mainly the hardest part about them, imo the way to go is to either try to go for as many defensive/healing items as you can, or to time the skills that have i-frames if your character has any (i.e. miner)
I also recommend that you don't get too greedy and stay in fight for longer than you should, if you feel like the situation is getting too rough just maybe run away until the enemies split up or you manage to heal a bit
Know your timing, most melee charectors your going to want to hit and run (exception of HAN-D) so know when to go in, (example: go in ehen the vagrant has already shot so its one less thing to dodge mid fight)
anyone know if the health bars are moddable sprites or hard coded? i can see some of the health bar backgrounds, but cant seem to find the bar itself
What are good Common damage items? I have bloody knife, but the selection is kinda sparse
The white items donāt have much but sticky bombs, toxin and backup mags are the stand out ones for pure damage

Yea I donāt mind them either but they can be a bit hit or miss sometimes
Stickies, Toxin, Glass makers Lenses (crit overall) and Mocha/Syringes (Attack speed, mocha is half of syringe and Goat hoof so move+attack speed) and Barbed wire if stacked enough

The one you get is usually better than the 3 used and is also easier to keep alive

I do know that Returns is 2D and 2 is 3D. Which game should I start with playing?
They are both good, if you have no care for story get the dimensions you prefer to play, if you want to go in order of the story returns comes first (you can play risk of rain 2 and understand the story enough though bc it explains a bit)

yeah it depends on whether you prefer a 2d sidescroller platformer game or a 3d third person shooter
they both have similar gameplay loops, its just mainly the dimension difference

It is pretty survivor dependant, HAN-D and Drifter just knockback everything
It is extremely situational but for miner specifically you have deceptively long range on primary to space against enemies
Also while desired you don't always need to be scorching so poking with special/utility/Secondary and going out is viable strategy

It has semi random duration (and very specifically evolved lemurians landing/starting to fly also removes it) between 2 and 6 seconds I'd estimate but haven't measured exactly

casting "protect and serve" cancels the dash so you can push them near the edge and then "protect and serve" to knock them off while also keeping yourself on ground

So Iāve experienced a glitch, several times in fact. Basically Drifter uses their unpack ability and then just doesnāt stop⦠any idea how to get it to stop so it doesnāt kill my runs?

the barrel spawns on every variant (some people haev said except one but they mightve missed it) and then the child is on every variant as well so as long as all steps are correct you should be good

In this video I cover the secret prismatic skins hidden around risk of rain returns. These only spawn on certain stage variants and can be a bit of a pain to find. I recommend playing with the command artifact to pick mobility items and playing on drizzle difficulty so you can safely ignore the clock.

he has a skin in the files but its not unlockable (or force loadable)
the only hitbox it has is the moment it enters and exits the ground (other than the fire) so it cant actually touch you on ropes or mid air

a big difference from 2 is that for a lot of the alts there isn't really a meta
most of them are equal in power or are very different that they have different uses/niches

yea it makes you give enemies more stacks of poison with your m1 which is a really good dot
Is it? I consider Acrid's m1 to be quite a situational part of their kit since it has terrible range and it doesn't have base abilties to facetank with.
I was wondering if att speed has effect on any of his tick rates
his m1 is his primary source of damage since his utility has quite a long cooldown
you should be constantly be going back and forth through enemies while jumping and using it
it deals a lot of damage
its good to note that most enemy attack only hit you if you're on the ground despite certain visuals which is why you should be jumping
but no aside from increasing the damage on his primary, attack speed only makes his other attack animations faster
If you're only attacking on jumps I don't feel att speed is that beneficial though
just hold the attack and jump button
i didnt mean only use it on jumps
i mean if you need to get out quickly you can stop attacking but for dealing damage you can just hold it
I feel the attack will root you once you touch the ground but I'm take your word for it since I'm away from the game
I'll just avoid attack speed on Acrid in the meantime since I don't enjoy it as much as other melee in the game.

Nope
You have to feel it out with what your current items and power level are but you can regularly stagger lock enemies or attack from one side and then quickly jump to the other in the case of enemies that attack in one direction. Kinda gets harder with volatile or overloading elites messing you up but yeah

The game will not freeze in terms of frame drop but latency. The enemies will stop moving but I can still move the character until I get disconnected
We have decent internet. It never used to be a problem in the past just recently

I had a similar problem with my brother, we tried both running the game as administrator and it reduced the problem, but it didn't stop it until the next patch

how to unlock acrid?
You need to find a shipping container at the top right side of sunken tomb. The container doesn't spawn on every map variant tho, disabling new map variants will help. Once you open the container, acrid will spawn and you'll have to kill him to unlock the character

He can stun you, that can be a pain. Other than that, i think no.
out of curiosity, are you doing monsoon difficulty?
More specifically, Acrid spawns on every "old" variant (1,2,3) so disabling new stages guarantees acrid on Sunken Temple (So 3/6 on stage 3 with new stages disabled, 3/12 with new stages enabled).

i turned off new stages and found him after 12 stages
Yeah, it's good. I've stayed a while on 200/10 glass, command, cognation settings while looking for item unlocks. This effectively doubled income/xp and increased dmg x10. After that, switched to normal monsoon to play fairly.
Honestly I don't get people who are jumping into highest difficulty from the start and do challenges there.

Acrid is a unique genetically modified creature made as a lab experiment by humans.
Labs didn't have access to lemurian's genome to include their genes into the project.
So acrid is a 100% non lemurian creature.
Is returns worth buying?
Yes unless you can't tolerate platformers in any shape or form.
It's an upgrade from an already good game, so it's great.

Whilst reskinning robomando's sprites i came across some sprites that.. i guess are unused?
I'm not sure but they peaked my curiosity cause they're called "RobomandoWalkHold"
There's not many, 5 in total, and there's a unique skill icon that shares the same color as his main attack
Does Robomando have a hidden unlockable skill that replaces his shooting with him holding enemies? Lmao

Yes. You always deal full damage with full charge, and Attack speed also increases charge rate.
what's the consensus on drifter special vs alt special
Normal special is way better
I've heard that alternate is just as good
normal special falls off, alt special gets better as you go through the game
They really are just sidegrades
Base special gives a better short term advantage
Alt special gives a better long term advantage
Normal special also gets better though

The longer your run goes the less you depend on getting the right items

||There are some variants of Hive Cluster that have some vines that become visible and invisible on the very top right of the stage, just climb them and you'll encounter it ||

It spawns on variants 1, 2 and 3 i beilieve. It'll be at the top right side of the map and you'll have to parkour through some invisible ropes
you can turn off "new stage variants" in the rules tab to increase your chances
hive cluster spawns on the 4th stage. theres a 50/50 of getting hive stage or the magma stage

The beuty of returns is there isn't any, Items can't proc items (2 exeptions are Fire Shield and Repulsion armor) and every skill is 1 proc coeficient (Couple skills can't proc items)

both, each attack will do a shock and they passivly do one around them on a timer
theres like a little "cooldown between shocks
they have a passive shock that triggers every like 8 seconds
but they also have ukelele

For most part, walk towards stage until you can see some of your effects, then run bit away from stage
Haven't messed too much with high absurd speed out of~~ bounds ~~stage stuff but usually it "works out" by getting as close to the stage then moving bit away
didnt work out in that miner speedrun tho
May I suggest drifter with scepter duplicator and amethyst?

Correcting magnitudes since high speed I'd say is semi inconsistant clipping with mobility skills and absurd speed is just clipping with movement.

Being aware of them is "enough" since usually if you can get in you can get out.
esp. the loader short circuit since it is pretty much if you get in you will can get out (need corners for medium speed)
Acrobatics is bit more nuanced since the way you get speed with it is highly variable on the "setup" you get
Essentially if you are in air and land 1 frame after activating Acrobatics downwards with neutral on left/righ you essentally can get across Dried lake in 1 "wavedash" with 0 mobility items

If you mean new as in survivors that aren't in ror1 but are in returns there's 3, but if you mean new as in survivors that aren't in 2 but are in returns then there's 8 if i counted correctly

Essentially Setup for really consistant "god run" setup with 5 artifacts that synergize for tons of loot while not making it too annoying to get run going. Command to get Early Clover, and Avoid Lag creating items, Cognation to have every enemy spawn elite on death to get items via clover, Glass to have damage early to start killing cognation en...
I looped idk 2 or 3 times I HAD to go to the contact light so my game wouldnt just crash from all the prestige mountain shrines I hit
And the only laser drone I got that entire run was one time on stage 3 which is so much unluckier than I usually am with finding those
You don't want too many clovers, and once you hit ~600 barbed wires you can keep stacking prestige since then you insta kill overloading worms
My brother in christ the problem was not overloading worms it was the game running at ~0.03 frames per second
Took way too long for the tp events to even finish
Ah switch, then think only 10 clovers, no spawning stuff items and barbed wires should keep game more stable
Tbh it probably couldve held out a few more loops but I both didnt want to risk it and got impatient
Essentially, you want enough items but not too many, and particle stuffs that slow the game down.
Alternative is to "speedrun" to contact light for beam drone natural spawn
After how many loops is the beam drone a relatively consistent spawn cuz Ive never seen one there
It is seems to be* always similar rate, overall I think it is ~2-4% spawn rate

So having low lag "god run" is more consistant way to go imo, esp if you don't mind using command for it
well fuck grinding if I can get a pinky in terraria to give me a slime staff on the first day I can get this game to spawn a beam drone in the contact light after a few attempts
Also going to boar beach every time you can (after scouting the level) should increase laser drone chances.
Just gotta get a bit lucky for my luck to act up again

i just insta killed a sand crab stage 1 with it
but then i do the next one and hes just half health
When you release theres a period of time where if you get hit damage is negated and the attack gains extreme range and double the damage
This works with any source of damage
Yeah, i found out you can parry health shrines, busted asf 
enemies fall damage (even into the void) blood shrines and even the doll equipment
The doll Equipment is especially funny because its like a remote controlled parry you can do

if you're running commando, if you find boxing gloves (A green item) Theyll pair well with his phase round
you can basically knock everything back as they're frozen

origin would be the hardest as it needs a run with certain artifacts active
the rest are either youll find them accidentally or over time
are there any other challenges/unlocks that might be unreasonably difficult without a guide?

other than those two you should be good to find everything yourself
There is one artifact hidden on specific variant of specific stage (so 1/12 chance each loop to have chance of finding it.) which you might or might not naturally find.

How do you decide whether to revisit previous levels or go on to the final boss?
It's honestly just a thing of like, if you are having too much fun with the run and want it to go for longer then revisit previous levels, if you have had enough of that run go to the final boss
Or alternatively if you feel you aren't strong enough for the final boss yet then maybe do a couple or so more levels to see if your build gets strong enough to fight the final boss, altho most of the times revisitting becomes more chaotic than the final boss

I always accidentally hit revisit instead of final. On keyboard the revisit button is e and the final stage button is f and I keep forgetting.

what's the general strategy for this game? I feel like the scaling is much more extreme in this game than in the other. Starting from stage 3-4 enemies just get absurdly tanky and strong. in 25 hours I've only gotten to Providence once on an engineer god run with my dad where he had 4 atgs and 1 super-atg.

Whenever you do teleporter, nothing is locked
So try getting a few items, activate teleporter, kill, and get more items

hes good at preventing enemies from attacking but he cant do much against bosses
It works like desparado in 2, but for all attacks
Though it's limited to 5 "temporary" stacks
I'd recommend unlocking it
Alt utility is also really good
Throw a smoke circle that makes you invisible to enemies and they can't attack you in it
i've unlocked it, I just have played bandit only once since then

both of bandit's primaries are good
whips range is pretty good
it goes beyond the sprite by a bit
it deals good damage
Besides, bandit is more a hit n run character
Dynamite, stay afar with alt special and normal primary
(for reference, blast actually does 80% damage, not 150%. so whip's 200% with piercing is a pretty big difference in damage)
