I really like the vigilantes manga for the timeline it gives. Like im not the best at following it but seeing aizawa || in the flasback like 15yrs before the main series || and tracking details of his life really makes it seem comprehensive

Real problem is that is never acknowledge in the plot beside one joke, that Soga's whole character arc is off-screen making it seem like a whitewashing arc rather than a redemption arc, his backstory is only one page and his stupid ass friends still makes jokes and comments about Pop even in front of Koichi.

Like the problem is not the attempt perce, but trying to make Soga part of the mc cast without even proper apologize or feel guilty about it beside a very weak moment with Pop in the ending.

Imagine Endeavor's arc but take away all his introspection, Dabi's dance, and delete every time a family member of another character remember Endeavor he is a pos

But like am I the only one seeing a flaw in the idea

The timelines don't match up, no one would be useful besides Koichi

Coz it can only work with pro hero koichi and Deku

I felt like that was more left for other potential spinoff adaptations like school briefs

I feel the epilogue doesn’t give Koichi much room to exist at its core, he ended the series in a powerful state. I always imagined he would do the reverse C.C. and move back to Japan after his “reputation” recovered. Tho Epilogue, puts the all the top positions filled which I don’t see Koichi being 22 or 24th idr in present day, so I would imagine he became popular in America and separated from C.C. & is in the top charts over there :)

A new chapter coming. Interesting. I always felt we'd get more content with the way the series ended. But what I'm really hoping for is a new series starring Koichi. MHV had to be a prequel because it'd have to constantly adjust to MHA if in the present. Now that MHA has ended, Koichi's story can continue indefinitely.

There's always new stories to tell if written right. Koichi's adventures as a hero, working with C.C., becoming independent, making an agency, having others join his agency, seeing his relationship with Pop develop. Then there's Pop and her rise to stardom or deciding to do something else. MHV was the end of that part of their lives, this new story would see them moving on to other challenges, both personal and professional.

Did I miss the lore reason the pro heroes don’t recognize Iwao as O’Clock from his fighting style and general appearance?

We repeatedly see heroes unveiled when trying to hide in MHA because other pro-heroes recognize how they act/fight etc… however for some reason this same logic doesn’t apply to Iwao. I’m wondering if that’s simply plot convenience or if I missed something immensely important.

MHV is really one of those series that get better as it goes on. Anime Onlys are in for a treat. I'm looking forward to how people will react to Koichi's very brief appearance in MHA's final season. I'm almost totally convinced they're airing MHV's anime now just because they wanted to introduce Koichi to the anime watchers first in his own show before the cameo.

I can answer this! It would be about 15+ Years since Knuckle Duster lost his quirk. Meaning Six got it soon after by a year or so. Number Six would grow up and train with the quirk, while Knuckle Duster fell into vigilantism.
Tho O’clock was a lot leaner than Knuckle Duster. O’Clock was seemed to be calculated and untouchable. People usually think KD is irational and dangerous yet still having the same factor.
Time passes and everyone has forgotten O’clock for the next big deal, Lady Nagant.

He had his quirk during Underground Masquerade and we see that when AFO stole his quirk he already was on life support and with his wounds from his battle with All Might

And if my memory is correct, Six didn't got O'Clock quirk until he was ready to use it, but i could be wrong in that last part

Which im unsure if when they say x many years ago for that flashback they mean before the start of vigilantes or after the 2.5 year time skip (the one after the Aizawa flashback happens). Because then 6 would get Overclock 4 or 5 years before the start of vigilantes

so either 6 got it later than i had expected or hes younger than I expected

in my opinion, vigilantes was alright? i feel like the plot was iffy and the characters were alright too.

one thing i liked was how koichi's quirk was able to expand and grow without tacking on bs that made no sense, and how all of his extensions of the power came from the base attraction/repulsion force mechanics as opposed to if the quirk just magically allowed koichi to slide around where it wouldn't be able to have any of the extra capabilities it had in the manga.

but i feel like for a good amount of chapters the villains were kind of just nothing, like it was a bunch of instant villains being made by hachisuka who got taken out pretty quickly and then number 6 did the same thing for a bit.

another thing was the mcs other than koichi kind of just got strangely sidelined for an eternity? i mean in pop's case it made sense, but in my eyes both knuckleduster and pop didn't have much time to grow because they were sidelined so early for so long.

Knuckleduster mysteriously dissapeared because of his family i'm presuming and Pop had her whole thing and then she was just in the hospital and in a coma and stuff, but on this take in particular maybe theres some underlying themes or development i missed because i wasn't able to read into the lines deep enough, so i may or may not be wrong about this, correct me if i'm wrong, please.

and if i recall, they had a timeskip of like a year or two where suga and captain celebrity went from douchebags to good guys, which if you're timeskipping a year it makes sense, but i don't remember reading them slowly getting better.

and i feel like a lot of these problems stem from pacing and time constraints, its a really short series so of course they didn't have the time to do things like have more longer lasting more impactful villains for each arc and have real slow drawn out character dev, because to my memory it only has like 2 major villains that being the queen bee and number 6, right?

oh and there were some moments like where knuckleduster ended up not ||dying|| or how pop never got with koichi when it was looking like it was being set up for like the entire story

but i feel you, the strong points of vigs are not the villains but the main character, kinda the opposite of mha, not that deku is a bad mc but its definitely not the strongest point of that manga.

Ehhh like, kinda? I mean a lot of people praise Koichi's quirk evolution, but beside repel who was kinda forshadow and the missiles, the rest of his power ups are very hard to defend. Like 3 out of his 6 powers show up in the final battle with Six.

To be fair, most of Vigilantes cast is carry by either Makoto, Celebrity, Knuckleduster, Six or a character from MHA.

Final Presentation is my fav arc from Vigilantes cuz the main focus is ALMOST og Vigilantes Cast Before Endeavor and his sidekicks show up but details, details.

And like, Underground Masquerade is very popular thanks to how it use Rappa and AFO. And well is about Knuckleduster time as a Hero so bonus point for that! oh and Mirko is there too, meh

And the reason why Celebrity work but Soga don't is because even if Celebrity was an asshole his heart was in the right place and well, one of the points of Sky Egg is showing Celebrity is also a Hero, so his change in the timeskip do make sense compare to whateverthefuck they did with Soga

And yeah, Vigilantes is one of those series that goes from villain of the week that doesn't take itself too serious until the main plot moves, and by that i mean "Six do something"

But the whole joke is that Naruhata is full of weirdos anyways so it kinda makes sense why so many villains are so generic.
