u could do all the objectives and get hit a couple times and u'd get a worse grade than someone who just camps at spawn and does hardly anything for the objective

so on paper u could have these fantastic grades but really ure contributing nothing to the game

theres a bunch of secondary stuff that u can do which contributes to the grade, like collecting items, in game lore files, doing multiplayer actions like 2 player doors etc

spoilers for all silent hills ||i disagree, the foundation of the game for 1 was determined to be about the religious cult and the weird shit they brought, the town isnt really whats weird fully its them, if you played 4 downpour homecoming etc whilst not all of them are exclusively taking place in silent hill, the games are specifically meant to showcase the spread of the cult and how the town can impact people outside of just the town itself, i think for a game that came out in 1999, if we keep reusing the same maps, same concepts, we r gonna kill it harder than we already have, get ready for a new cast||

According to DF, Final Fantasy Remake on Switch 2 has higher quality image stability than the PS5 game.

The PS5 has shimmering and image breakup due to using TAA, which isn't an issue for Switch 2's DLSS.

I hate generative AI as much as the next person, but I've said this before here and me and yui agreed before that using AI only as a tool is fine, a lot of artists are not against that. Sandfall, Larian, etc, were the only ones who admitted to AI use, but definitely most devs out there are already using and used it as a tool, so are we just gonna hate and boycott all upcoming games in the future? What we need is a clear vision of the ethical and unethical use of AI. In E33 case, using placeholder assets generated by AI is not the same as using AI to generate and place assets, ppl just hear AI and shit all over it. Sandfall clarified that when the first AI tool became available in 2022, some experimented with them(as other ppl and devs did when AI tools first came out), to generate temporary placeholders. Upon release, the placeholder textures were removed to be replaced with the correct textures that had always been intented for release, but a few were missed during the quality assurance process, this was their mistake. The performative hate and outrage to Sandfall, Larian, etc is doing is that all the devs/game companies in the future are just gonna be silent regarding AI use because of this backlash when AI was only just used as a tool. Arc raiders using AI generated voices and COD black ops 7 using AI art slop, not intended as placeholders, but as the final product, did not get this much hate when these are examples of unethical use of AI.

AI use is still AI use in any capacity though. If ANY part of the game was created through AI at any point in time, that should 1000% be disclosed. I'm not sure if you're aware of the environmental impact of AI usage, but if this becomes normalized and accepted, it will ramp up that impact significantly. Currently every single sector of the global economy has AI implementation of some kind. In an industry like gaming worth hundreds of millions of dollars where you can implement AI EVERYWHERE, that is a very very bad thing. It isn't just about whether or not they're using real artists or using real ideas, it's about the impact.

"normal ai" is not really a term tho unless ppl are using it to mean non-gen ai. AI is a broad concept for anything trying to imitate human intelligence

imo like best way to combat it is just mention the specific model you're against and why

like gen ai isn't a terrible technology, problem is how it was developed and its used (see blockchain vs crypto issues)

reading more on it what e33 did is the equivelant of using some one else's texture without permission and forget to patch it out

its still plagiarism tho but at least they fixed it
