It's really good for a first attempt in my opinion, I really loved the eyes, but I think they are a lil big, mouth looks nice but again kinda big to me, loved the outfit idea but i suppose it needs more shading, glasses looks well, I also liked the hair, maybe a little some shading would make it cooler, again it's soo great for a first design! It actually does match the design rules and guidelines, it's just that every person has their own style which you may see as not matching wolvesville style.
On the other side I can agree that the small details on the items might make it discussable (for example very tiny lines on the shirt, foreground, hat... Which wouldn't be visible in the game easily)
For @ForkyMain#0656 I love the outfit but I'd try drawing thicker lines, shading and be aware of outlines because the rose on the hat looks like outlined with these thin lines; that's just my suggestion

Try this once-> invisible the tear layer(so u can get it back if this idea doesn't look good) and try a new tear layer which contours with the face, suggest placing a drop of water on the corner/location where u want the tear to start from, of your eye n notice the path it follows
