The background does fit, but there's a lot of red packed in a pretty small area, making it look crowded. It's kinda hard to tell everything apart, so you could do away with the red skin tone and leave it pale, or use a black/white bg to break it all up. It really depends on what you think would look good!

I find that the best way to come up with good skin combinations is to start with a theme and go from there. If you're in a creepy/gorey mood, start with a full outfit that suits it, like something from the Nightmare collection, then strip away the parts you don't like and swap them with parts from other outfits. It takes time, but going through your items can help you realize how much/little you have and make better use of what you do have.

There's also nothing wrong with using an entire, already made outfit. If you like it, use it.

A lot of people have that same thing going for them. If they like a certain skin, they'll always use the same parts from it but in different applications. They may look the same at first glance, but if you use what you have, you'll always be able to come up with new combinations and ways to get your aesthetic across. Like this is what my friends avatars look like because she loves aliens but aside from some placeholder ones, she managed to use the alien mask to make it look like an alien in different situations/galaxies with just a couple of gem skins and mostly the mask.

The trick is to just pick a few key items and use them to your advantage to create unique scenarios and aesthetics. But really, it's all about what you like and what you think is pretty or cool looking. I'm sure you'll come up with tons of things, I'd love to see them whenever you get started!
