Because there aren't any. There's curly black and brown hair, but ginger hair is just non-existent unless you count neon orange. I think ginger hair, especially this lighter version, would be pretty easy to match with whites and pastel colored outfits. Black is too harsh for them, so this cutie with those big, beautiful green eyes will launch those colors into the stratosphere.

what I typically do is take an off-black to a new (top) layer, and cover all of a given object with that color, and then make said top layer a low opacity (like 15-40%)...

That typically gives me a good shading effect, 9 times out of 10

However, I'm also here to give some feedback for some improvements. (Please just keep in mind that I want to help, you don't have to follow anything what I'm saying and most of it is just my personal opinion -> I don't wanna downgrade your design in any way)

1: I might be wrong but I think you used a pretty small outline for the eyes🙈 (#avatar-ideas message )

2: Talking about an outline, in your first picture the shirt definitely has one and this isn't allowed

3: Other shirt feedback: Some shirts are missing depth what makes it look a bit two-dimensional. Example: The white thing (I don't know how you call it🫠) in picture 2.
The third image doesn't have the problem in my opinion because you created some depth.

4: In the 4th image, the shirt has some green dots/lines on it (you can see it in the picture below)

5: Through the big shirt (picture 2 and 3) the avatar looks somewhat proportional

6: I'm not an artist but is the light of the 4th avatar correct?

Nevertheless I really like the avatar and I also admire your choice of color. (Red and green are complementary colors so they are highlighting each other)

I've thought about that for a while too! As of recent, they have started adding more and more hair that look a lot more natural on the darker skins which is great. Being good at drawing just takes a lot of practice, you just gotta find the right drawing styles/tactics that suit you and refine it. really cute design first of all, it's just mostly missing depth. make sure to use fade to get the ends to look nice and emphasize curves, even on straight hair. -don't worry about the lineart not being fully connected, can always fix it later-. I added pigtails (coloured darker) just as an idea to make it look less flat. also add a curve at the top (doesnt have to be in the middle) to bring it out more. i gave an example where you section the hair. front hair - lightest, bangs - middle, and the back part - darkest, although these are interchangable (im not good at explaining sry) and if you have hair behind the bangs, id make them darker too. adding highlights will help, don't worry too much about the lighting hehe. adding stray strands can help bring it out (ignore the outline on the examples) this is just my very simple style, there are lots of artists on here you can take inspo from, or hairs ingame. ^_^

the eyes glimpse shouldnt be inverted so i changed that, and added some detail to the eyes and eyebrows, by simply changing the layer opacity and using a dark colour, i did the same with the shirt, personally i dont add light blush with my ideas so to stay inclusive for darker skins. the strawberried are really adorable! ^_^

i added a clip and locket just as an idea, bows would look cute in the hair too, the shirt is really adorable so i didnt change anything. the eyes are really cute too. sorry for the long read ^_^
