indeed, but outlines dont fit in the general art style of wov. However I think there are exceptions, as example for things like glass that are, even in normal art, mostly drawn with a lighter colour around it to see the lines. Still it can be solved by just making the dark blue outline into a darker shape

their bodies are still outlined... maybe have that darker purple only underneath them and on the bands? also, the lines in their wings aren't noticeable from afar... perhaps make them darker or lighter? also, the lining of the wings, that dark greenish color, are a bit wobbly

its best for the highlights on the cheeks to be mirrored. the highlighted no-mirroring rule typically only applies to eyes, and in some cases, other objects... the taped mouth just looks like an X... continue the lines on one of the stripes to make it look like two pieces of tape... they're also still outlined, so maybe erase the dark color from the top of the tape

i'd really love to see this style get ig! i also really like how you made the hair give the avatar elf ears without adding an item! thing is, hair goes above clothing and isnt allowed to go behind clothing. you should bring the hair layer(s) forward, and if it looks like hair is going behind, draw some more in front of the body and clothes... the little ombre you added at the top of the hair is very subtle... perhaps darken the top, leave the middle the same, then let the darkest black come down to the bottom of the butterflies and let the medium black stop under the ears... lighten the lighter black a little

-shield (could use better lighting + shading), male eyes (didnt realise until now how bad the eyebrows are), grave, male shirt (want to remove small lines and improve pauldrons), horse face (highlighting is awful), background (moon craters not in color with the moon)

Imo, one issue that many people overlook is people who don't fit in the gender binary when making stuff. While a lot of items do work with people who aren't male or female, making body templates like this is difficult. (Also, might be looking too much into it, but it can also set unrealistic body standards!)

Some people have feminish body physiques and some have maleish body physiques, it just depends on what the player chooses. Maybe this could be selected between each skin for one player

There are three gender options in this game,male,female,other. We can keep the original for "other" and make new ones for male and female. More masculine/feminine templates can actually help trans players as they are more gender affirming than the original one. Hope this could help (Realism was never the goal)

I think the main issue is that, most clothes wouldn't fit properly with these new models. Developers would have to work twice as hard to make all the items fit the new models.

Well the wov style is very close to anime or generally chibi style I would say. Basically you draw something either very cute (like sad and kem) or you surprise with a very special style (example Nagini and Nighty and a lot others but that's the ones I have in mind rn)
Many people like the cute style with a lot of stuff and Details around but at the same time not too detailed to fit the wov style xD

Basically as soon as you submit your Design you will be told what doesnt fit and needs to be changed. Just like people here do. So whatever you Start with, u will get Feedback that pushes you in the right direction

Ok I have a few pics and will explains my process for each... This may take up a lot of space

#1 start out with an area around the head and guideline for the hairline, this is where your hair should be placed - later this will help with volume and also fits other hair + hats in game better. The skull is not the same size as your chin so this replicates that in a sense..

#2 - look up references for hairstyles!!! I recommend looking at real people's hair on Pinterest to get inspired. Afterwards, if I struggle to draw something, I will look up a picture of the thing I want in a drawing. For example - I often look up how to draw bangs because they are very hard to translate into the games style. Anyways at this step I draw the basic shape and direction I want my hair to flow

#3 - I outline basic shapes in my hair for anything that is behind the bangs and on a separate layer I draw the bangs. Then merge the pieces together and erase any overlap. For short hair I normally just draw it in one step 👍😁

Step #4 😀... After merging a rough outline together I trace around the ears + bottom of face and then duplicate the outline. Using only one of the outline layers, I take the bucket tool and fill it in; then clean the edges + fill in anything that was missed. The 2nd outline will come in handy when shading

Okkk close to the end

Step #5 - duplicate your hair shape layer and make one of the layers darker... I erase this darker layer to create shadows rather than drawing in shadows later. Also establish the light source at this point - normally it's somewhere in front and slightly above the avatar

Uhm ok last step! On my program (Ibis Paint) there is a layer that allows me to draw on it and make a selection - I use the selection area I drew to either delete or add shadows + highlights. At minimum 2 colors will work but I recommend 3 hues as a Goldy Lock amount - not too much but not too little. Remember simple is better too, especially in WOV style hopefully the video helps show my process - if you don't know where the hair should flow look at references or just whatever looks good 🙂

That's pretty much it, just keep building and adding what you want, and if something doesn't look good you can stray from your original idea I often scrap my hairs entirely if I don't end up liking it

Omg sool cute^^. BUT there are some mistakes, firstly there are 2 spots thats needs to be painted on top of the hair, the hair and the irisis (and the lips I think) are outlined which is not acceptable, you can fix it by cutting some parts off the outline

I like 1 and 4 most right now, i think the gold hair is cute but if you pick that then I recommend making the skin tone lighter or darker

So, the next theme is << Darklove >> and I got some ideas for avatar for that theme, however, I personally cannot draw, so I am suggesting ideas here for those who can draw, so if you wish to draw it, go ahead, you have my permission.

So this is the general idea. It is dark by the emo/ gothic looks of it, all “noir” (this drawing is not mine.)

So, the idea is an eye look like this, but perhaps brown eyes or hazel, I have not yet seen a good hazel/golden/ honey eye for my avatars yet.

The mouth could be a wicked smile like that that’s just mostly white ‘teeth’

Clothes to be black, I don’t have any ideas yet for what the shirt could look like but you can go creative and match the theme 🤷🏻‍♂️

And the first and front item could be a hand holding a human heart 🫀 to symbolise the “dark love” theme.

Hair could be like this but I’d do a bit more messy, without the hair band and in a sort of dirty blonde hair colour. 🐕 like this colour

And finally, the mask could be blood under the eyes, neck area and mouth. “Darklove” being taken as some sort of cannibalistic love for human flesh/heart? (Would make a great Cannibal skin 🤷🏻‍♂️)

The second item aka the background item could be some sort of void like this or shelves with human organs if you want to play with the idea of it being a cannibal? So like eyes, brains, intestines in a jar? 🤷🏻‍♂️

The “glasses” item could be some sort of silver/ steel earring, would be cool.

The grave could be a human heart 🫀
