the ppl grabbing the key will not kill any enemy for the majority of runs

play R2B1 with 4 ppl and no logs

run through 2 blood doors

it just moves it to the very very front ensuring that there absolutely no gameplay at all til your reset

benefit being that the time spent per run is way lower so if the usual time spent is very long and includes nothing thats enjoyable

thats pretty good

but if the level has early proper gameplay and late rng then yes you will play the game more if you can't check logs

i think u watched R1A1 with logs and now think every level played with logs is a 1% actual playtime

but it depends a lot on the level

and for levels where it does tend to go that way

i personally suggest playing another level

When you start out running, you run basically everything. Once you set a decent time you run less and less spawns since they wouldnt be able to be as quick as your personal best.

The only time when you litteraly only hunt for the most ideal rng is when you are trying to beat a nearly optimized record

Say in r1a1 you need 1 of 7 realistic viable keys out of over 50 and 1 specific hsu spawn (with less than 1% chance to happen for hsu alone) to be able to beat the time set by bread and co

Meanwhile in r3b2 r7b3 you run 25% of all runs. 50% for the right blood door (but you take all keys there) and ~50% of front spawns for the 2nd key

This doesn’t make sense for a couple of reasons:

1. You can “run” an expedition, so generally speaking #408196129470152706-running would be like talking about running expeditions, which would be similar to #gtfo-chat and #gtfo-spoiler-chat
2. Speedrunning is defined as 1 word, not two, in the speedrun community. This is viewed globally across many different games and platforms
3. We can’t be running the same speed, or there would be no competition. In a speedrun, there are differences between strats (sometimes) but definitively differences in time. Not all groups get the same exact time

We may be running the same GTFO expedition but that does not correlate running the same speed

tl;dr: for anyone facing a similar issue, GetKeyState only accepts a string value of the key you want. Hence, GetKeyState("CapsLock") is the proper implementation, not what I have below.

I'm not understanding why this doesn't work and i'm losing my mind because of it.

GetKeyState() is effectively a bool that returns 1 if the key is pressed and 0 if the key is not being pressed. hence, using an if statement within the loop should theoretically check, and break appropriately, every cycle. instead, the program is telling me that the variable (what variable??) is never being assigned and is producing a warning with every loop iteration.
Warning: This variable appears to never be assigned a value.

If you haven't already I can also recommend checking out a few of other people's runs. It'll give you a good idea of sentry placement/weapon choice, even if the run is often carried by some very good shooting.

If you just want the clear though (not trying to speed), then I think I'd definitely just recommend bring C-foam launcher and just keep trying until you get an explosive mine. Then perma-foam the class 4 for easy win.

Class 2 alarm the sentry goes by the button facing towards the door to the class 4. And for the class 4 alarm it goes sort of facing towards spawn right?

The class 4 is still very hard to hold even with sentry, don't be dismayed if it takes a few attempts.

Sentry should handle most of the class II for you

Class 2 is pretty manageable as long as you get scans done quick and try to kill slow where possible. It'll get out of hand pretty quick if you have to fight a second wave though.
