Anyway, just to clear that up:

The swing was too far (behind the scout).
They were standing too close to the scout.
If you stand a little bit further away you're not risking hitting the neck.

Remember the Hammer Circle did not shrink.

• the hammer could not go behind the scout simply because the "behind" is simply too far
• stupid reminder that Hammer will not hit if u don't move and the circle did not shrink (ignoring the arc.)

so anyway i did some testing a few minutes ago, and aimed a good deal low enough to ensure i hit the head for it to be a perfect shot, but far enough that reticle didn't shrink, and its almost always a fail.
as its either a whiff or just seems to behave strangely.

The circle Shrinking was litterally made so you know if you are in range to hit where you're aiming or not.
