Found a weird Biotracker(maybe) bug. Was doing R1B2 with my duo and while I was alternating my from main weapon to Biotracker suddenly a small black box started to appear around the middle booster icon and it started spreading bigger and bigger until it enveloped my whole view. Can still move, shoot and interact tho. Can't do anything inside the run to fix it so had to leave and rejoin.

It normally takes 7-8 months so nobody was expecting anything at all at this point, let alone past rundowns, let alone 2 within 6 months. Even then, with reduced staff resources, you are looking at 2-3 months for building a multi-rundown system, then 1-2 to port R1, then 2 for R2....thats extremely reasonable considering the levels were built on a version of the the game 2-3 years old. And personally, I don't want any new enemies or objectives because I just want the old rundowns. It would take twice as long to complete, and then half of the community would complain about the new stuff not being faithful and everyone would complain it takes too long.

Nah. Stamina will not heavily impact the level. They may add a total of 30-60 seconds across all reactor wave verify times. Gotta keep in mind that player gear has vastly improved since R2, aside from melee. The game has also never been balanced around kiting. The only part of the game that ever arguably required kiting was R2E1's first alarm. Even then, you technically had enough supplies to hold off the enemies, then hold in the scans. Most people just kited since it was easier to save tools and ammo for later

This happens anytime the scout feelers touch that specific open door. You can prevent this by keeping the door closed. I have tried this many times and seems to be the best method. Make sure no scouts are nearby, open door, go through, close it. Have whoever is staying back to block spawns open it for you.

they’ve been catering to mainstream since r3/4 which is when their max player count went down and had been going down consistently, when their game was labeled “unique” it had way more attention and they ruined it by trying to match other mainstream games which isn’t what gtfo was recognized for it was for its new game style. the initial success was kind of the downfall and now they’re ruining the game for their remaining community this is never going to be lfd2 or payday2

what did they do to match other mainstream games? not enough in my opinion. personally, the reason I think the GTFO never got much traction was because of how initially hard it was to new players with no benefit of playing. No expedition rewards, nothing to grind/ unlock, no progression of any kind. After playing a few times too, most of the mechanics got old. Players couldn't really even play by themselves, and the matchmaking never worked either. The game was too hard and it provided no reward of any kind, except for seeing a few new enemies by progressing further through the rundown, or seeing new lore, and most new players didn't even know there was any lore of any kind.

I just remember watching a lot of popular streamers play GTFO and they were really put off initially, either because it was way too hard with zero guidance given, or because there are zero rewards given, so why play the game?

that was the major appeal of the game though, that it was super hard and unique. in my opinion their heavy weapon buffs, checkpoints, sudden rush of lore, trying to finish off the story, less enemy and objective updates with a higher focus on gunplay alone, stamina, etc., are all examples of mainstream incorporation. sure, you could argue that checkpoints are a loved feature now but no one ever wanted them. the whole point of this game was it is supposed to be a "hardcore fps horror game". they are catering much more towards spammy shooter hoard games with heavily implied lore (less mystery more straight up story). we can literally tell because the difficulty has not gone up at all as rundowns have increased. we get constant nerfs that base community hates and buffs on weapons to help with difficulty spikes. not only that, but why stamina? much of community loved kiting and such and yet they added it in to cater to casual community and a playstyle they basically forced on u. there is no more unique hardcore aspect. there is no immersion or horror in this game anymore, they won't add any actual like nice aspects to it. it just feels like every generic zombie shooter game. it still has so much potential if they incorporate initial concepts, but they are giving up. they saw big groups shit on their game, like you said, and instead of making a name for themselves and creating a new genre of gamplay they sunk into mainstream gameplay. imo, a small community you can build on over a long time with the proper unique aspects is better than a dead game that fails anyways because its like every other shooter. this game is now entirely repetitive and doesn't feel anything like r1-3. even the change in artstyle shows how different of a direction they started going in with the game. gtfo is now every other boring shooter game tbh, if you weren't into it before its hard to get into now. except its now no longer fun for base community or casual players.
